Culver Road is only showing with numbers - no house names...

Jane Parkins. It was left to her by my husband/s g grandfather when he died in 1909 and consisted of 3 houses

Same as Jill- just numbered ones

What document do you have with that address on and when is it dated?

Elstree Cottages, Cowper Road ?

OK, found my way to the household schedule on Ancestry and no Elstree Villas in the road. Sorry. It may be the name above a house/two houses that are also given numbers. We have houses like that near here - all numbered but also given those names above the two front doors ...

Have you tried Google Earth and zoomed in to see if there are any house names?

If you do a free 1911 search you can look at everyone living there by specifying surname beginning with "a" etc, and putting Culver Road in residential place box.

Google Earth. The houses look as if they could be Victorian. If you start at the left hand end of the road and just a few houses in on the left you can see "Garfield Cottages 1885" above the green front door on that terrace.

I've spotted a "Gladstone Cottage" down the road a bit ... I'm on the case now!

Can't see any more of those plaques but there is an Upper Culver Road.

I have looked for a marriage between Alfred and Jane but cannot find one.
I had a look for a Jane as suggested by Jan and found 2 in St Albans
Jane Frulock b 1856 and Jane Waller b 1881.

Would someone be able to look at these ladies and see where they lived

I will have to visit the road to see if any of the houses are identified as Elstree Villas. The will says it was 3 houses so it may or may not include either of the above

Do you know if there are any records going back to 1909 onwards which show property sales?
