*&%^$£"^&*((()&^%£" etc.
I'm surprised you didn't here me in America Marilyn.
The Central Heating pump that I turned off to drain the system.....when I turned it back on again the blo**dy valves started peeing out water and I couldn't shut down the system fast enough before a good flood had developed and came through the ceiling into the room I am presently decorating.
Nothing easy eh ! Now I will need to strip out the pump and associated pipework to replace the valves.
Right now I'm having a coffee and calming down a bit before I tackle the job.
If I don't get the parts today we'll have no heating or hot water tonight.
IDEA ! Perhaps I should just cuddle up with Mrs Stephen under the Duvet.

Oh Stephen that's terrible........... not the cuddling up bit - the water leaking through the ceiling.
It's freezing today, hope you get it sorted, it's not a good day for having no heating.
I've just come back from the funeral and I'm freezing, it was near the coast and the damp fog made it feel really bitter. My family gets smaller and smaller, there was a time when you had to fight for a seat at a funeral, but today there were lots of empty seats.
I could really do with some of that sun Marilyn, I'm froze to the bone.
Yes Rita, I want that house........... just give me a while to build the time machine.
Rita, is it the chemo that's making it hard for Mike to keep his food down or is it because of the operation? Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't last long, poor soul, he's been through a lot.

The Mission.
I’m sitting by the fire & it’s time to go to bed And it’s funny when you’re all alone what thoughts goes through your head.
I wandered back down memory lane & some people I can see Arriving for a Mission at the church in Kilashee.
Everyone would turn out by sidecar, trap or bike Some of them would walk for miles & wouldn’t mind the hike.
No matter what the weather was, we’d all get up & go For to miss the Parish Mission was the lowest of the low.
I remember well the Missioners who came from Dublin town Impressive looking figures with big long robes of brown.
They had no amplifiers then, although the church was full These fellows didn’t need them for they could holler like a bull.
They’d have sermons about honesty & sermons about faith And we were always reminded that our prayer-life wasn’t great.
They preached about the devil but the memory that remains Is the sermon about the devil’s work in dark & lonely lanes.
There was one big wicked preacher; I remember him very well Who asked the congregation if they wished to go to hell.
“If anyone among you wants to languish in hell’s flames Stand up now; let us see you & let us know your name”.
Well, no one moved a finger for a minute or more Then up stood Micky Dooley, he was sitting near the door.
“It isn’t that I want to go to hell” says Micky with a groan “But I hate to see his reverence standing up there on his own”.
Going to Confessions was the hardest part of all We’d have to queue for ages on the seat along the wall.
The Priests were very different then & some were very dower And many of them hardshaws would be in for half-an-hour.
And after that, they’d be telling how each of them confessed But the story of my neighbour, Mrs Luny, was the best.
She told in Confession how she made her marriage work When her sexual relations emigrated to New York.
And out on the footpath, there would always be a stand With medals of St Christopher - that was the fellow who was banned.
A thousand Rosary beads, some big ones & some small And a lot of holy pictures for hanging on the wall.
I got a little casket from poor old Uncle Hughie Inside was Blessed Martin - the image of Joe Louis.
And once I got a present of a little toy clock When you held it up to the light, you could see the Church in Knock.
The Missioners would visit all the sick throughout the day They’d administer the Sacraments & then they’d have the tea.
And I remember all the ructions when the dined with John McHugh And when Mary poured the tea, sure the tea was navy-blue.
Well, they couldn’t understand it - t’was the best of Indian tea And water from the best spring well anyone could see.
When they emptied out the tea-pot on the flag outside the door They found the belt of Mary’s coat she lost the year before.
In nearly every parish then, before the week would pass They’d call to see some renegade who wouldn’t go to Mass.
And sometimes they’d be lucky & renew them in the faith But others could be nasty souls & clear them from the gate.
The neighbours would be watching, from a distance, you can bet They’d be waiting to witness the reception they would get.
And if that person should start going to Mass or even a Holy Hour You’d hear the whispers going around - “Aha, the Clergy have the power.
You know we are often critical of times past & gone The changes that have taken place & the people who have passed on.
Like us, they weren’t perfect & they did things wrong But the Grace of God was with them & their faith in Him was strong.
The lives they lead were simple, they sought no great reward No greed or blind ambition came between them & the Lord.
The influence they weild had effect both near & far Let us pray that God rewards them for they made us who we are.

Pauline no he isnt having Chemo it is the pain I think that is giving him a hard time.? I will phone my son in Law and tell him, he can have a word with Mike as he has been there and done that. I am wondering how Steve got on for his check up in London today.
Mine went fine I had an MOT lol my medication is working well dont have to have another one for a year. My blood test I had for my PMR had not come in so Dt Kelly said sit in the waiting room while I get intouch with the hospital to see what is happening. otherwise your have to start all over again. she came and asked me into her office I was worried then but she smiled and said it is all OK and you can redunce your steriods down one more and in a months time have another blood test and then reduce it down another one. they really look after you at the surgery. all the five Doctors are the same. I didnt get home till 3.15 I was so hungry had not eaten since this morning one slice of toast and a cup of tea was all I had.
Stephen I hope you get your problem sorted with your heating you can do without this problem in the cold weather.

My word Dermot, that was brilliant. Is it your own work.
I see our dashing Maddie, has flown in and out again pretty quickly.
Pat's sat having a leisurely coffee at her desk at work.
Poor Stephens up to his armpits in water, and work.
Shelly's at a baby show. ( I thought she was to old to enter them now ).
Our Paulines freezing cold from being at the funeral, bless her.
I don't know what Cath's up to today as she hasn't said.
The only lucky pants, out of all of us, is our Marilyn over in the U.S.A. Lazing in the sun, getting a tan, drinking her G+T's, going for walks on the beach. Ooooooh if only we could all join her, i'm sure we would all feel better for it.
Pauline, I eventually had a txt from my daughter this morning, re my nephew. His operation went fine. He has got all his faculties in tact, thank the lord. But he is stil in I.C.U. as his proceedure is fairly new, and they want to keep an eye on the chemo, that they have wrapped the cyst in. Oh boy the things they try these days, are a wonder to behold.
I hope Rita gets on o.k with her results today. It's such a worry knowing that Mike is having problems eating. We all associate a good appetite, with improving health. God willing he will improve quickly Rita. Have they phoned the hospital, to check wether this is normal following the treatment he has had.
Liltte Lilly had to go back to the hospital, for a check up following her re-flux problems. And all is fine. She has gone right up to weighing 9lb 7 oz, so the medication must be working, and she is keeping her milk down now as well.
Linda, how's the card making going with little one.

Brilliant Dermot, well done.
Mo, I'm pleased to hear it's going well for your nephew, it's amazing what they can do now isn't it?
Nice to know that baby Lilly is doing well now as well. A little bit of good news is what we all want.
Rita, Mike must be in terrible pain, you'd think they'd be able to give him something for it. It's awful to think of him in so much pain, I've lit a candle for him.

No parts today.
No heat tonight......well no Central Heating. We have an Electric Convector in the Sitting Room, that'll do for tonight. We normally keep the bedrooms very cool so that wont matter It's the shower and hot water that will missed the most.
Thank goodness I can do all the work myself. Keeps the cost down.
Time for a late tea and a relax.
Drop in later possibly.
