Morning Maddie and everyone else who joins us later.
I think we are going to have a hot day here although thi morning we have a couple of big clouds overhead.

I have been in Buckingham Palace twice not as nice as I expected it too be. we walked around the gardens as well. The White Room and the Music rooms were the best.
I think they need to get some of their chairs recovered. lol

The Queen comes up to the rooms on a private lift hidden in the cormner of the rooms. I was not keen on the Dutch Paintings they have, they are very dark.

I am just going to have some toast and a cup of tea, then I can take my tablets. Oh th joys of getting old.

Morning All !

Rita, Getting 'old'. Another way to look at it is that you are full of wisdom gained over the years. Nothing to beat the University of Life.

Maddie, we will be calling on your knowledge of the London environs to guide us through the throngs of people. Can't have the Friendly Crew caught up in crowds can we.

Do we bring our Kazoos (?) with us for music ?

Is it short skirts (kilt) and Baton Twirling ?

Misty here this morning but sure to clear away to another fine day.

Have a good day ya all !

I've never been inside the Palace!
My sister gave me a dvd about it.
Have a nice day everyone x

Morning everyone
Well it is lovely again this morning. Have already been for a walk round the lake with son's dog who is here for a couple of days.
Lovely meal again last night, Thai with 2 girlfriends to celebrate 2 birthdays. The other lady has her birthday next month.
Managed to get teak oil onto the garden table and garden bench yesterday. It will soak in with the lovely sunshine.
Well off to do the same as Rita now. Toast and pills, such is life.

Have a good day everyone.
Like the idea of us all in kilts for the wedding Stephen, so long as it isn't too warm on the day.

I'm sure we can rely on Maddie to make everything go smoothly while we're in London next week.

Short skirts are a no-no for me Stephen, my thread veins look like the kids have been scribbling on my legs with a Biro. But YOU have to wear your kilt of course. Do you keep one of those daggers (Sgian-Dubh) down your sock? I didn't actually know what it was called........... I've just googled it!

Mo, would you be able to do what Rita suggested and have a blessing in your own church after they get back from Scotland?

It was mad hot here yesterday and it looks like it's going to be the same today. My son didn't go to the day centre today because he's not well and I don't want him passing germs on to other people.......... he's just passed them on to me instead.

Patricia, More intriuing than an Agatha Christie Novel.........What does a Scotsman were under his kilt ?

Pauline,

Yep ! I wear a Sgian Dubh.......(Black Knife) My one was a special gift from some guys that I knew. Silver Blade and mountings topped with a semi precious Cairngorm Gem. Lovely. A treasure to keep.

Back later......all going well.

Afternoon all

Mo, I agree with Rita and Pauline, perhaps you could ask your vicar about a blessingthen a family celebration afterwards.

At least you had an invite, when my niece and nephew had their christenings we didn't know till after the event, sil didn't invite us, she reconed we wouldn't come cos we live 80 miles away. But then thats her all over!

My son passed his driving test yesterday, now he's badgering me for a car, he's been getting quotes for insurance, what a nightmare! Between 3000 and 4000 pounds!!!!! How do these companies think kids are going to be able to afford these premiums.

Yvonne congratulations to your son on passing his driving Test. my son got a quote for my Granddaughter and hers was a shock. he said never mind I wont have to falk out all the money on her fares to and from College.
I said no but you have to pay her road tax and Insurance Lol.

The doctor was nice he said I have an ear infection one ear is bad the other not quiet as bad and I have ear drops for them.
everyone said I look better than yesterday I said I feel it. I caught a bus to Sainsburys this afternoon just for a ride out it was so hot I was pleased to get back home.
The compies think the Kids parents can pay. it is such a shame they do this to the young people. why can they not give them a chance. ?

I just emailed my friend in Norfolk and told her I was going to see her in June. and that I would phone her when I got there and make arrangement to meet and have a meal out..
I was not going to say anthing as I have appointmments before then and worry something will go wrong. Dentist on 11th the eye hospital on 23 the scan sometime in the next week and the 7th June the cancer hospital to get scan results.
Then Mike has to have the other operation on 25th May he is so worried as he only has one kidney now and they are removing the renal off that he is worried they will find that is cancerous as well. so please say a prayer for him at church.he need the support.

Tomorrow is a happy and a sad happy because it is Charlies birthday he will be three and sad because his twin brother Oscar died three hours after he was born. they are my Great Grandsons. how the time had flown.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 20 Apr 2011 16:29

Oh Yvonne, please send my congratulations to your son, for passing his test.
The cost of the insurance for youngsters under 25, is horrendous. In some circumstances, it costs more than a car for them.
My grandaughter was a bit cheesed off, when she passed her test, as she had just paid out for a holiday, so she now has to start saving again.
The way things are going, she will be drawing her pension, before she can afford to buy and run a car.

I am going to suggest that my son has a blessing done for Lilly, down here so that friends and family from here can attend.

Stephen, if you are bringing a Kazoo to the celebrations, the Dor@hester won't allow you in. So perhaps you could bring your triangle instead, it could be hidden in your suitcase.
I have my tambourine ready for packing, if I pretend I am with the Sally Army I may get away with it.

Maddie, are we being picked up by limousines, or should Stephen arrange for the private jet again.
I don't mind catching a train if needs be, but would like to travel in luxury if it's at all possible.

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 20 Apr 2011 18:31

Congratulations to Yvonne's son for passing his test. That's a lot of money for insurance Yvonne, makes me wonder how so many young people are driving around.

Mo, I hope Lilly's parents agree to have a blessing at home so all of your family can go. I can't see any reason why they would be against it though.

Yvonne, that wasn't very nice of your SIL, why didn't your brother tell you about the Christenings?

Maddie, why no kazoos? It's the only thing I can play!

Are you sending a limo up for me, or should I hitch a ride with Stephen?

No Dermot, that's not enough said.............. we want to know what you're wrong about........... well, Pat and I do!

Rita, it'll be nice for you to see your friend and go out for a meal, you've had a lot of stress and worry lately.

Stephen, when I first looked at your post - I thought 'Pauline' was the answer to 'what does a Scotsman wear under his kilt'.

Linda, what colour is your kilt? I used to have a red one (Royal Stuart or is that Stewart).

Rita

Rita Report 20 Apr 2011 19:41

My KILTS I had two one was McCallum and the other Campbell, I still have a scarf and hat of McCallum. but nothing of the Campbell left.

I have two SKI caps one is a plaid but no idea what clan it is. blue background. I will have to look in the drawer for that one and see if it tells you.

I am going to go in a Red Dress and big Red Hat with a white Rose on and white leather shoes low heels. and Red Handbag. and white gloves.and the band will play " The Lady In Red "
So I cannot go on horse back or fly on my broomstick dont want to crease and dirty my outfit.
So I have hired a car with an open top . I can wave to the crowd and they will think I am someone of importance.

Especially for Stephen:

My neighbour knocked on my door at 2:30am this morning. Can you believe that - 2:30am?

Luckily for him, I was still up playing my Bagpipes.
