Morning everyone, it's beautiful here, really hot, and lovely and sunny.

I'll try to send some of it down for you Rita.........Because you're important!! LOL

I've been out working in the garden, trying to get some of the weeds out before I go to the hospital to see my sister.

Shelly, I've had a look at my death certs and they're all signed by the registrar.

Linda, I'm sure you've got more hours in your day than I've got.

Where was Mo yesterday?

Marilyn, did monks get married back on those days, or did they just have kids?

Oh Well K arrived in a srop again this morning crying and clinging to her Mummy. Mainly because M isn't here as she is on holiday. Mum stayed for ages trying to calm her down to no avail!!! But surprise as soon as the door is closed she stops. Well she has been watching some childrens programmes on TV and promptly fell asleep !! So I have cut the back grass, no point in just sitting in here with her.
Will do something more exciting when she wakes up and after she has picked at her lunch. Not a very big eater.
It is still overcast but humid and heavy.
I have a headache..................... so maybe I should go and lie down in a darkened room.LOL Only joking as if I could.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone

Linda :o) XxX

I need to sort dinner out now fish and small pots and peas. so it wont take long to do.

See BOAC are now going to go on strike. all these poor people will now have to make other arrangements for ther holidays.

Ello Ello girls.
Guess who's back, MOI. Did you miss me Noooooo course ya didn't.
Oh excuse me,sorry Pauline you did. lol
Like Pauline,I didn't know that monks were allowed to marry. I thought that they married into the church.
I know that a friend off mines sister, became an apostulate nun. She remained with the convent for a few years, but decided that it was not for her.
She later married and had two sons. But the poor woman lost her husband,in a motor cycle accident.

Oh Linda, why don't mum's realise, that the sooner they beggar off,the sooner the child will settle. It upsets the child more if they hang around.
And as you say,the little one soon settles after mum has gone.
Enjoy the BBQ at your brothers this weekend. It's nice to be popular isn't it.

Rita all my mum's family lived in the same road when I was young, and it was nice to be able to pop from one family member to another, without having to leave the road.
I really do believe that families were closer then, than they are these days.
And I mean closer in the fact that they shared all the problems that arose, between them. IE- any illness, there was always a family member
to drop everything, and take over the running off the household.
Take my nan for instance, when my mum had her nervous breakdown, nan took over and looked after us.

My god Shelly, you are excelling yourself. Who was the one who said she did not like to write long posts. lol
So you won't be seeing the muppets this weekend then.
You take it easy mate, don't keep tiring the brain out, with all this searching
for rellies.

welcome Home Marilyn hope you had a good time in Cornwall it is nice to go back to places you know I always find when I do I get a big let down as they never seem to as I remembered. the houses are smaller than I recall the places are different. I always find a building or house I never knew was there.
I would love to go back to where my Father in Law mother in Law lived in Cambourne my young brother in Law went there two years ago and said the open spaces had been built on it made it feel more like a town than the little community we remembered.
Mo I know what you mean my gran looked after me when my mother went back to work she was a dressmaker for a well known designer in the city and I cannot recall the name now I will when I dont think too hard.
I use to go around to my other Gran and get her shopping and sometimes stayed to dinner the family were so close every weekend we gathered at Gran Horwoods it was always party time.

I assume you mean OLD ones ..??

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 20 May 2010 18:33

Shelly I am not sure that you can get doctors records,as they are confidential arn't they. It's like me going to my doctor and asking her questions about Roly, she's not allowed to tell me legally.
Welcome home Marilyn. Are you staying for a while,or are you off again soon.

Morning All
Hope you all have a good day.
Looks like it might be nice here today.
Have to go and get some last bits for the wedding today and some bits for our holiday afterwards,
Managed to do another pot yesterday. It is a big terracotta one in the border and now full of pansies, petunias, bizzy lizzies and begonias.
The birds are very active still and feeding well on the sunflower seeds in a feeder.
Yes the tortoise is still tramping round the garden, need to trap him somewhere while I get the new small plants in. Any suggestions welcome !!!!

Try to get back later

Rita Report 21 May 2010 08:16

Morning all.
Nice day here as well.
Linda to answer your question about where to put the tortoise while you
plant. I can only tell you what l use to do. I had a wire chicken mess playpen made and use to put them into that to keep them out of mischief. the good thing was when you went out anywhere you knew they were safe as they were in that and you can move that about the garden shady spots and sunny spots I left a shelter inside so they could get out of the rain or too much sun. make sure you have water in it though .a large shallow dish.
Hope that helps.?

I got my INR blood test through it is getting lower now reading was 2.80 it should read 2.02.so I go back for another test on 9th June.

The sun is out and I might g for a long walk this morning. I have not had my shower as yet l am just ambling along here taking my time doing things.
I still have not had my sister Post Card from Palestine. I asked Kate her daughter if she had recieved hers. she said no not yet. thats over three weeks
I know Palestine has strong restrictions put on them by the Israels.
They have it very hard out there. If they want to fly aboard I understand they have to go to Syria and leave from one of their airports..
As many of the Palestinians live outside Israel they have to show their passports when they go in and out of Israel even to work during the day or to visit.
I am glad I dont live out there.

Have a nice day

Morning All,

Beautiful sunny day here as well.

Going for a cliff walk today, so might get sunburnt..or ..tanned . LOL

Shelly that stepson was a bit miserable , haven't you got a photo of him from his first marriage ?

Linda are you getting excited .......? ...... (Wedding)
Lets hope this weather stays for your daughter, after all every bride wishes for a sunny day.

Where's our Liz ...haven't seen her in the last few days !
Perhaps busy with her wedding plans as well ?

Linda my brothers tortoise died 3 months ago, he was dead when they got him out from the spare bedroom from the winter, mind you he was 43yrs old. What we thought was funny was last year he had anorexic and was in Hospital !!
And it cost my brother an arm & a leg to kept in there, but he did manage to put on weight ,now it shows he was near his end as the result was that he wanted to die.......

Off for my bath......

Just had an email from one of my sons his wifes cat damaged its leg so she took it too the vets it cost her £45 for an injection and £250 for an x-ray she is waiting now to see if it needs and operation I said didnt she take out an insurance ?no she didnt think it was worth it. I said the operation could cost anything up to £1000.
She said she will take an insuance out now. I told her bit late it will cost you a lot of money now as the cat is about 5 years old. she has two of them.
I dont know how vets can justify their prices.
well I have been busy and I am shattered now I feel like I have run a 100 mile marthan.
I am going to cook myself some lemon sole and potato's and have a rest after lunch.

See you later.

Good afternoon everyone.
Guess who is going to be a nanny again. Yes me. My son's fiance is pregnant, and is due next march. Whew that will make twelve grandchildren. I wish he had found out what he was doing wrong before now.
His two children from his marriage, are going to feel a little left out, as they live with their mum,and only see their dad once a fortnight.
It does hurt me ,as he is only a part time dad ,and I do worry that the same could happen again.
You remember me telling you off the time I was cleaning his pub,and his girlfriend sat and watched me do the work. Well this is the one he is now engaged to.
Nothing changes,my son now does all the housework, and she sits and strokes the kitten all day.
I dread what will happen when the baby arrives. It fills me with dread.
