David Cameron - a poor looser it would seem.
He childishly refuses to congratulate Russia over the 2018 World Cup venue. Hope this not the resumption of the 'cold war'.

Dermot your a mind of information. I would not congratulate Russia either if I didnt want too . why should he ? . At least he was not being two faced about it.
I would ike to see who placed the votes for them to win it.. I say stand up and be counted. They won and that it. . we have enough on our plates already.with all that is going on and will be going on in the near future.
Sue your right it is cold , colder than yeaterday. one minute the weather forcaste say weather for tomorrow milder and no snow then you wake to find thick snow and colder weather.I dont know why they bother.
Morning everyone Jean hope your keeping OK. stay warm.

Afternoon everyone Sorry if I've not added so tired. Little sleeping after having her lunch. Managed to get to the local shops and posted birthday cards, sympathy card and most of my Christmas cards this morning Oh and a calendar to Australia(my penfriend). Little stayed warm in the car while I tried not to slide around the village. Got a few bits of fresh foods and some longlife milk(just in case) also food for the birds.................. sunflowerseeds and peanuts. Have fed the birds and they are buzzing around filling themselves up. They have nearly stripped the trees of berries too. Hubby has gone to work, hope he stays safe. Won't be home til near midnight. Shame the carol concert was cancelled yesterday as we just spent the evening watching TV together. Bit of a waste of his day off. But at least it was one less trip to Heathrow. Believe Gatwick opened again this morning. Hope Marilyn gets her flights OK back to England. Call me if you have problems this end Marilyn, you have my number I hope.
Jean I hope you have a good weekend and that the results are good for you on Monday. I shall be thinking of you.
Oh have recieved 2 of the christmas gifts I ordered. Only a few more to go.
Have a safe afternoon and keep warm
Linda :o) XxX

Yes Marilyn you are right about the snow man being stolen. Apparantly the WOMAN had put two pound coins in for the eyes. Now how bloo*y mad is she, for wasting police time, well she needs showing up in public as a disgrace. If they wanted the money so bad, they only had to remove it,and leg it. But why would anyone steal a snowman in the first place. Sad Sad woman thats all I can say. If it wasn't for the costs, I would say they should prosecute her for time wasting.Grrrrr.

I think the snowman just walked off by himself because he was so cold last night & he thought his creator was a bit crackers anyway.
Any sensible person would have brought him inside on such a terrible evening. A couple of quid, a scarf around the neck & a carrot to nibble on are far from sufficient.

Evening all.
Pretty mild here tonight compared to this morning. My hands were sticking to anything metal I touched.
Useless Information for Pauline or anyone else thats interested.
Powder Snow consists of tiny chrystals or particles of snow usually formed in low temperatures. The Powder feels light and fluffy because of the amount of air between the chrystals.
Snow Flakes are made up from 100 or so chrystals to form flakes of snow. The weight of the bigger flake squeezes the air out when it lands and the snow becomes compact.
It's the Snow Flakes that 'townies' are most used to. And they are the best for making Snowmen.....or to be PC.......Snowpersons.
Here endeth the lesson.
Ready for tea now.......back later.

Thanks for that Stephen, so that means it's colder than normal...........or it was when the snow was formed. Didn't want to play snowballs anyway, nobody to throw them at. Can't throw them at my snowman either because he'd collapse, he's not very strong.
Hard to believe someone would dial 999 about a missing snowman isn't it? Maybe Dermot's right and the snowman just left home because he wasn't being looked after properly. At least he had a couple of quid for his bus fare.

Good Evening to You All.
I think I have found the missing snowman. He is standing on my verandah, keeping watch over the bird seed and fat balls. He frightened the life out of me, he was looking through the window. 2 squid still in place, scarf and hat. Yep, all there.
Stephen, please let me know that Neil got home ok. He was such lovely company. 'eyes rolling and going loopy again' lol
Few more people in today, 1 degree higher than yesterday. All the little old ladies are still absent, but if they are anything like my Mum, she always had a 'store cupboard' filled with tea, sugar and tinned food.
Hope everyone is well and warm.
Shelly dry that snotty nose. Pauline hope Brent is occupying himself. I think you said he likes music. So do I. Jean, hope all goes well at the hospital, and your results are clear.
I just hope that Marilyn gets home sometime soon, she has her next rollicking adventure to plan.
Dermot still flummockes me. But then again, I probably do the same to him.
See you later.

Neil Oliver arrived home safely. He just 'coasted' into town in his car.
Maddie I'm not into Blackmail. Just make a £10,000 donation to my Bank Account as a goodwill gesture. And I promise not to tell your hubby
Pauline.....find some Scottish Pipe Band music on line and play that to Brent........bet he likes it.
My goodness how nice not to be shovelling snow tonight. I'll do a wee bit tidying up tomorrow in the daylight..
Is Dermot going to organise that England host a GR World Convention instead of the football World Cup. ?

Maddie for gods sake don't tell the the mad woman down here that you have got her snowman. She's some crazy bint that lives in the next town to us. Not mentioning the town, but they used to have a dockyard there, before it got closed in 1983/1984. My mum could have sold all her tea, coffee and sugar at a profit the amount she had stored away. Mind you it was always camp coffee, she would not drink anything else.
Stephen, it sounds like you are bathed in a heat wave up in Scotland. Our temperatures are down to -4 tonight. And the roads are a sheet of ice.
I will make us all a nice hot bedtime drink. (^^)? (^^)? (^^)? (^^)? {**}/ {**}/ {**}/ {**}/ ["""]> ["""]> ["""]>
Enjoy, cant give you any biscuits, we have run out/ Night god bless you all. Love Mo xxx

Off to bed now.
The 'duvet' calls.
Good book awaits.....I've read it before.......demands a re-read.
I collect books as a wee hobby. I don't go daft and I'm very selective.
All non fiction. Mainly Scottish. Some fairly rare.
I once loaned one to a friend, I knew it was worth a few bob but he was to be trusted. Sh*t he died suddenly. I had lost a very dear friend.
Months later I realised I was missing this particualr book..........a valuation had been posted on the net..... that was what had alerted me.........valued at C£3,500.
I didn't have the heart to ask his wife if she still had the book....it probably went to a Charity shop along with a lot of Jims other stuff.

Going beddy bo boes myself soon. In me jammies already.

I'm still here Hubby just rang to say he was still at Heathrow and will be another hour even if the roads are clear as it was very icy going into work at 1:00. Have spent some time this evening wrapping gifts. Mainly little surprises for him. Some books he said he'd like. Hope everyone has a good nights sleep.
Thanks for the cuppa Mo.
Hubby told me about the snowman. I said the police should make her a new one and post it back through her letterbox give her something to clear up eh?
