SNOW !!! No surely not.I don't want any now ,not after all this nice weather we have been having.
What an evening you had Frank. It sounded great fun and all that food the Hostess did !!!!.You say she had been cooking for 2 days. That lot would have taken me 2 weeks lol I have been in the kitchen cooking today and i know i will have taken more than double the time it should have taken.
Four dishes of hogs food all cleared..They must be hungry hogs Mel..Do they tend to eat a lot when they first come out from hibernation?
It is a funny hazy kind of sunshine today but quite nice and warm..My bedding is dry and ready to go back on the bed.Just need to iron the pillowcases. The sheet and Duvet cover are remarkably uncreased so for once I will not be ironing them :-D
I now need to make some sauce so must get the old pinny back on.

O would'nt it be nice if Sandra got snow for her birthday and was able to make her snowman she so wanted to do. You never know she may get a snowman for her birthday then and we will just have to wait and see................. <3
I should be going shopping but I don't feel like it at all. we had a few and only a few spots of rain this morning while I was out in the garden but it came to nothing.
Frank what a lovely spread they put on for last night do and a nice amount of money for the heros. It is such good work some people do for the sake of others and so nice when it is something local you can join in with.
The cider and pasty walk they had here on Sunday raised £700 and something pounds for the village hall. They had 160 walkers. We were given a bottle of cider for letting people park on my land again.

Afternoon all,
Well it started off lovely here lots of sun and now it's clouded over and it looks more like rain ,i have washing out so i must keep an eye on it.
Well Frank what a feast you had last night ,i don't think i could have catered for that amount of people ,didn't she do well ,i shouldn't think any one went home hungry . And a lot of money raised too for "HELP THE HERO'S" :-)
Mel i think you should have called her Shebe Hog if it's a lady hog :-D Do you think you might have more hogs than last year Mel, if four dishes were empty !!
Wouldn't it be just right if it snowed on Sandra's birthday ,she has wanted snow so much , not long to wait now Sandra your birthday will soon be here :-D
What you cooking today then Jane ? your a slave to that cooker :-D Any burglars last night or was it all quiet !! :-D

Yes Frank a great collection for the good cause Help the Heroes :-D :-D
Mandy I have been making that Rice and Lentil dish(the one I sent you a pic of before) It so tasty with lots of fried onions in.But it's the other ingredients that get me all hot and bothered. That is Cinnamon and Nutmeg and then in the sauce there is garlic, fresh chilli and Cumin added to 2 tins of chopped tomatoes, water and white vinegar. This is definitely a recipe for Jungle Drums in my tum tonight :-S :-S. I have a Memphis Barbecues Style Chicken Crown to cook next. That is really nice.I had promised James I would do this meal for tonight also thinking Chris would be eating too.But he has been out for lunch today so it will just be for 2 of us. I am just waiting now for the sauce to finish reducing and thicken up a bit. My face is sweating like crazy because of the smell of all the spicy stuff :-S
James is going to Jess for the weekend :-D Tomorrow he has tickets to go to some talk at the V&A Museum on P R.I am guessing that it might be helpful to him for his work Jess has managed to get a job doing admin until she starts back at Uni after the summer.I think it is for a colleague of her Step Dad.I am so pleased for her as she has being working part time in a Chemists and has hated it.The Owner and her Daughter sound right nasty bits of work.
I see in our Paper that a Soup Kitchen is going to open once a week here. The need for these kind of things seems so great and what with food banks too.It is so sad that so many people can't afford to buy enough food to feed their families. Each time I go to Tes** (which is almost every day) I always put something in the Food Bank Collection box.Maybe just a pack of pasta or Baked Beans. But I imagine every little bit will help someone .
I looked at the clock just now thinking it was 5.30......it's 4.30......I woke at 4.30 this morning and then couldn't get back to sleep. There was night works going on on the A14 and it was so noisy.Once I was aware of it I just couldn't get back off again .Then the birds started singing so I gave up and read my kindle for about an hour and a half. Chris said he never noticed the work noise !!!!.He must have been dead to the world.
I am now going to have half an hour doing nothing before I put this Chicken in.

Well that's my tree updated from the access to the Ancestry one.
Just watched a real tear jerker of a film with Sandra all about a girl who abandoned her baby. I felt so sorry for the girl her mum was a complete waste of space but it had a good ending as she ended up getting her son back and living with her son's granddad. He was the dad of the girls partner who was killed in the army. I love happy endings. <3.
So you're cooking up a storm again Jane. All these meals sound lovely. Pity Chris has already eaten, never mind all the more for you and James ;-) ;-) ;-).
That was a good amount raised Mel. How many cars do you have parked at yours, is it a lot.
Yes Sandra is hoping for some snow, but then she loves it so much so doesn't mind when it arrives. She's informed me it's 4 days to go. It does make me laugh, her doing the countdown like I don't know what date her birthday's on. Anyone would think I wasn't there when she was born. Bless her. <3.
Off to start dinner now

Good job done then now Gill with your tree :-D.It must feel good. Did you and Sandra have the box of tissues at hand for the film? I do like a tear jerker ,but then spend half the time wiping my eyes and not being able to see the screen properly LOL..It would be lovely for Sandra to have a bit of snow for her Big Day.The proper stuff so she could get to make her Snowman that she longed for last winter. When is Michelle coming home?I imagine Sandra will be beside herself with excitement to see her after so long :-D :-D
Mel that is a lot of people for the Cider and Pasty walk !!!..How far to they go? Nice amount of money there for the village hall.Do you know what it will be used for? Nice to have Cider for the use of your land for parking. They could have chucked in a few pasties too !!!!! :-D
It is quite windy here, all the branches are waving around like mad.I don't know what the forecast is for tomorrow .

Evening all,
Not a lot of activity here today, I have been reading most of the day.
Ros went to Tesc# as mentioned, she has been writing B'day cards, and making a list who's birthdays are coming up and how many cards she will need.
Yes a few Pasties would have been nice Mel, they could have gone in the freezer. :-D :-D
I had a silly memory come to me this afternoon. Don't ask why, I just don't know It was about the WATER BOURSERS that came round the streets during the war after any bombings. We had to go out with whatever held water and queue up to get them filled. It was put in the clean TIN BATH ready for when we needed it. That's not a bad memory .after 70 years plus.
Nothing worse Jane than being woken in the night by strange noises, I don't know how close you are to the A 14 but I assume pretty close, and there is always work going on somewhere.
Good you are getting on with the Family tree gill, I keep saying I will do a bit more, but never seem to get round to it.
Looking a bit cloudy out there this evening, perhaps we will get a drop of needed rain. I haven't watered tonight. If we don't get any I will water tomorrow morning.
Will try to get back to see who's doing what later.

Evening All,
Well Mandy is so quick with her knitting and little hogs made already. You are right Mandy, Mel can't call a 'she' hog HEbe can she. It would have to be HERbe! lol. What with dog shows, tractor events and now cider and pasty walks at Mel's what will it be next ........car boot sales ! :-) Good they gave you a bottle of cider and they raised a good amount of money didn't they.
Frank that was a good do wasn't it with all that food!! Another contribution to a good cause as well! It must be a big garden and marquee to fit all those people in.
As I went to class this morning the tree surgeon was chainsawing 3 of the 5 big christmas trees down at the end of the close. He didn't touch the one on the disputed front garden though! Now we have a view of the new houses beyond.
What has happened to Geranium plants this year? Our local nursery only had great big ones(expensive!) or tiny plug plants and I usually buy ones between those sizes. Over the past 2 days I've been to 4 garden centres and it's the same everywhere. I'm trying B*Q tomorrow. The price of plants seems to have jumped up this year too.
There was a nasty accident about lunchtime yesterday on the main dual carriageway near here (40mph limit). There are houses each side with front gardens and smallish car had managed to end up going through a new brick wall around a front garden and then still cross the garden and hit the front porch hard enough to partly collapse it. Goodness how it managed to do that as you'd think the wall would have stopped it in it's tracks!

Frank we are a garden and a field away from the A14.Our garden plus next doors that goes as far as the field. So not far really. The sound also depends on the weather and which way the wind might be blowing. But last night was relentless :-S.It might be the same tonight so I may have to agree with Chris and shut the back windows in the bedroom.I will have to have the front one open though as I can't stand the bedroom with at least a bit of air coming in.
Ann I bet the tree surgeon gave that neighbour a Big Berth LOL being all those signs. I have seen lots of young Geranium plants Ann.But I am waiting until my little shop has some bigger ones.Janice bought some there and said they were he best she had ever had.
Water Bowsers !! Janice and her family had to rely on them when they had the big floods around Tewkesbury and Cheltenham some years ago.The problem was that the Bowsers were emptied so fast that they had trouble getting any fresh water and bottled water was running out in the shops. So I went to several Supermarkets here and filled my boot with Bottled water and then Janice and her OH came here to collect it all, plus have a good bath and hair wash lol.She also came with laundry that needed seeing to so used my washing machine.I think it was about 3 weeks before they got their normal water supply back again.
Chris has just spotted a black and white cat down the bottom of the garden...I wonder if it might be the same one that was around a couple of years ago with a badly injured leg???

We've had the rain here Frank, it's been cloudy most of the day and not very warm either.
That was some accident Ann to go through the wall across the garden and damage the porch they must of been going a lot faster than 40mph. Was anyone hurt?
Hope you manage to get hold of the right size plants you want.
Yes we did have our tissue's Jane, such a sad film pretty much straight from the start, but a lovely ending.
Michelle is arriving here late afternoon on Sunday and then goes back again on Thursday, so I might not be on here much next week as she has lots of plans so we'll be out and about most of the time.
I've had another look at my tree and now I'm trying to find a marriage in Australia.
Just watching the end of Corry then I'll try again to find this marriage, if I don't find it tonight I'll move on to another part of my tree. I'm trying to get everyone down to the present day but have so many to do that with, it could take me a while.

Oh Mel I do sympathise about the chat and comments while you are trying to watch something!! :-S Why do they always talk over the bits you particularly want to listen to as well, just because they are bits they aren't interested in? Mine starts telling me all the other films/programmes the actors have been in too. One thing that stops him is if I start rewinding bits to play again so I can hear what was said.......or for me to threaten to chat all the way through a footie match he's watching........failing that it's the threat of a 'tonguectomy '!!!! lol.
I wonder if it is that little cat Jane? It would be good if it's leg healed ok. The M1 is about that distance from us and the noise varies here too depending which way the wind blows.
The ambulances had gone by the time we passed the accident Gill. I think there might be something in tomorrow's paper so will have a look. It wasn't even on a bend where it happened and we couldn't see any other vehicle involved, unless there were any behind the police cars. It is exciting when you make headway with your tree and the more you do, the more leads there are to follow! I have traced ancestors to Australia too and the son of one was given the the middle name 'Hobart' where he was born.
I think we are due some rain here tomorrow.......much needed as Frank says.

Morning all and evening Kim and hello to Shirl,
So nice to see our Shirl posting and sorry to hear you will have to have the injections for life!! but if they help I suppose it is all for the good. Sending wishes Shirl. <3
A bit brighter today and it did rain in the night but not sure how much or whether it did any good. I may be able to get a fork in the ground now though and shall try later.
Ann the latest is " I suppose I can't watch that because you are going to watch it later" I wonder why??????
Anyone been watching Secret Britian? with Ellie and Adam Henson? They are quite interesting and something else I watch on my own.
Put the camera out last night but before I went to bed there was all the food still in the bowls. Perhaps with the little rain they were finding more worms to eat.

Morning all, evening Kim,
We had a drop of rain too Mel, you could only see it had rained from where a car had moved. and left a dry patch. Not enough to do any good, but it will help.
That was a nasty accident Ann, Could it be he/she had a blow out and lost control.??
7 years for the thread, who would have believed it was that long. Trust our Shirl to remember (ELEPHANTS NEVER FORGET) :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3 <3 SORRY SHIRL, YOU KNOW ME !!!!
We take cuttings of our Geranium plants each year and grow them on. It saves a lot of money and you get what you want.
Madam is off to feed the DUCK then going shopping with Martine.
I might go down the pub for the football, depending who's playing.

It's at the point here whether to dash (ME DASH) now that's something. to the pub, before the rain comes or to wait and see how long it lasts. TOO LATE it's just starting to spit. If it settles in I will stay home.
I am watch the 1st World War celebrations on BBC 1 very interesting, I bet Liz is glued to the T.V.
The blue tits are raiding the cherry blossom to line their nests with. There were 4 flitting around a few minutes ago.
The doves are very busy billing and cooing, I bet they will nest in my big tree in the front. I already have the pigeons up there. Their dropping are all down the back of Ros's car :-( :-( :-( She keeps going out to wash it off !!!
The blackbird is sitting on the tit box, singing his heart out. He must be happy.

Not a bad morning here, OH finished planting the spuds, and proudly showed me all the seeds that he's planted in the greenhouse! They're coming on very well and should soon be ready to 'put out'! He really has worked hard on the veg patch this year and it should hopefully pay dividends! Oh dear Mel, I can't understand your OH disrupting your TV progs! particularly something you really want to watch! I'm afraid that would cause a right old row in this house!! Luckily OH usually puts on his headphones and goes onto his laptop on the odd occasion I'm watching something he's not interested in, and I do the same the other way round! It works pretty well and saves a load of friction!!. :-| Terrible earthquake just being reported in Nepal! Oh those poor people, if it's not one thing it's another. :-(
