Oh please don't mention rain.I am just about to hang load of washing out !!!!!! It is very cloudy but I didn't think we were due rain until much later.I can see some blue :-D The Plumber has been here to change a valve on the Hot Cylinder. He would charge me anything so he has gone off with a nice Bottle of Red tucked under his arm :-D
7 YEARS ALREADY..I was just a young girl then :-D..Thanks for starting the thread Mel it has been fun and long may we continue <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Hi Shirl is snowy Canada..When is it ever going to let up???? It can't go on for much longer now surely..Shame you will have to carry on with the Eye Injections :-( hopefully you won't have to have them too often. It gives me the willies just thinking of having the eyeball injected.
I wonder if Frank has gone to the pub now? My washing machine is playing tune which tells me the washing is ready to come out.

Afternoon everyone
It's absolutely pouring down with rain here, I think it's here to stay there isn't a break in the clouds.
Happy 7th Anniversary to everyone. It's been 6 months for Sandra and I, it's gone quick :-D :-D
Hope no one was hurt in the accident Ann, how frightening for the driver and not to mention the person who's house they hit. That must of been a shock.
I gave up on the marriage in Australia and moved on to the UK peeps instead, so much easier. In fact I've been finding so many people today I lost track of time and thought it was a lot earlier than it was.
My Geraniums come up every year. I used to throw them away and buy new each year until my mum said that her granddad used to put them in the greenhouse over winter then bring them back out in the spring. I forgot to put them in the greenhouse last year so I've lost one or two but the rest seem to be coming through ok.
I love the pictures of your garden Frank you and Ros have worked so hard on it. Your tree is about the same size as our apple tree but looks so much better.
I hope the rain stays off so you can make it down the pub for your footie and so you can get your bedding dry Mandy.
I've recorded a program called Secrets of Great British Castles I missed the first one I caught the end of the second one (about 5 mins) and it looked good. Going to watch the third one later. Is that the one you are talking about Mel. Or a different program?
HI SHIRL I'M GILL, I'VE ONLY BEEN ON THE THREAD FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS AND EVERYONE'S MADE ME FEEL SO WELCOME. SORRY TO HEAR YOU HAVE TO HAVE INJECTIONS BUT LIKE MANDY SAID IF IT HELPS YOUR SIGHT THEN IT'S GOT TO BE WORTH IT <3
Off to get some lunch now BBL

Just made a load of little cakes, lemon, chocolate and vanilla! and am sitting outside the back door on the rear balcony, it's well sheltered from the wind, and the sun is lovely! Nothing doing this weekend, just staying quietly at home like Darby and Joan! :-) Yes Mel, we've been watching Secret Britain, and thoroughly enjoyed it! It's the sort of prog we really enjoy. Frank, did you watch Griff Rhys Jones train journey across Africa last night?! It was fascinating and the scenery fantastic!

No, not buns Mandy, just individual sponge cakes with a sprinkle of icing sugar on the top!! I make lots at a time, and if they get left (stale!) they are used as the base for a trifle. Goodness Mel your hair is VERY long!! mine was long (just beyond my shoulders) years ago, but not like yours, as I always had it cut to keep the same length. Have you never had yours cut? I finally had mine cut short about 15 years ago much to OH's disgust!!!!

Evening All,
Well, I don't know what happened to the rain, all we got was a few spits for a few minutes!
Frank your trees and planters look good now and full of blossom and flowers. You do well between you to get it all looking so good.
That's novel having a double decker bus to a wedding Mandy! I haven't seen that before. When there's a wedding at the church in the village I like to see the the bride and bridesmaids dresses.
Mel your hair is really long now isn't it........I shall be calling you Rapunzle at this rate. My sister's is down to her waist and really thick and a coppery gold colour when the sun has lightened it. She has some grey coming at the sides now though, but at least she's kept her colour up to her late 50s, unlike me who had grey coming in my mid 20s. :-S
We were out this morning, but when I came back the neighbours told me the police had been down the close this morning!! Apparently the builder had been with a squirty can to mark what he thinks is his land and altercations broke out!! I was told that both parties had been told to avoid each other. Apparently when the Inspectorate come Monday morning 2 Land Registry people will be coming as well so I will be interested what they are able to say, if anything. The first thing that occurs to me is where they will all park as they will see that will be a problem straightaway.
Liz, we often watch different things on different tellys. It's when we watch something together that we both want to see that my OH can't resist chatting and interrupting. He's the same when we both sit reading newspapers when we are out, he keeps showing me bits in his. Then he will be finished and ready to go and I haven't managed to read half of mine.
Did you get my emails I sent last night ok Jane? I just found your nice misty pic in my emails but couldn't manage to turn it around this time which is a pity.

Liz my oh would love me to have it cut. The thing is now it breaks off every time I comb it and it has got very thin and my hair is very fine anyway. I used to cut about 6 inches off at Christmas for a few years but since mum died I have only cut 6 inches off once. I said when I was 60 I would have it cut but here I am at 66 and still hav'nt had it done.
I shall have to do something though because I am having trouble combing it now and I use a tail comb to reach the ends cos my arms ar'nt long enough now.
I was going to ask if you all got the pics. My emails have all changed and they are really strange now so I have to get use dto another set of different workings. It took oh ages to download my camera and thats unusual for him. Thank goodness he managed it because I had 193 pics on the camera!!!! Have deleted some of them.
It rained here this afternoon quite heavily and no wind so it came down like stair rods. I think it has done a lot of good to the ground this time.

Ann,I did get them thank you..I am sorry ,I thought I had replied !!!.I just see another come through this very minute.....All good stuff isn't it :-D :-D :-D.I think Fitz will be decorating you with a medal soon lol Oh so it is all kicking off now then in the close :-S :-S.The tension between your neighbour and that builder is really hotting up,especially now with having the police there !!!!!!!!!.I bet you never expected anything like this in your lovely peaceful little road.I do hope that it is finally decided that the builder CANNOT take any of your neighbours land.
I haven't done much today as I have such a painful hip.I have been waddling like a blooming duck :-S :-S.This afternoonI have been trying to sort through more photos .But haven't done too well I instead of picking ones to throw out I have only ended up with 1 to go in the bin.I just find it so difficult to throw any away.I have found a couple of lovely ones of Fitz from about 1987/8 :-D
I have emails arriving Ann and Mel so am going to have a look :-D

That's good then Jane. I was concerned they may have been too big to download. I hate throwing photos away too! It's like throwing a moment away that will never be captured again!! Have you been doing something to set your hip off do you think?
That was a good pic of the eclipse Mel and I just love your banties with all those beautifully coloured feathers. Do you keep any of the feathers to make things with? They would make nice earrings. :-) My word your hand did look nasty!

Got the next lot Ann :-D :-D.I don't know if Fitz has seen them yet. They might have family for the weekend so I won't ring him. Oh Mel your hand looked really nasty.Thank goodness it has healed up now.I loved the pics of the Bantams and the Deer..And your HAIR it's nearly down to your knees !!!!!.If you trimmed it just a bit it would surely stop breaking off. With it the length it is you would a least be able to see what you were doing .You could hold it on your lap and cut :-D :-D..I would love to see Gills hair .Hopefully her daughter will take a pic on her phone so that Gill could then forward it on to us.
Has anyone watched the programme called (I think ) The Jinx,on Sky Atlantic about the chap called Robert Durst? Oh it is good.Fitz told me about it so I have now managed to watch the first 2..Pretty gruesome stuff.
Liz I don't make cakes.Haven't done for years now.I'm rubbish :-S..Jess likes to make cakes though ,and sometimes when she is here she will do some.
Hannah says they have the Borrow a Doggie dog this weekend. It is just the one called Sunny.I don't know why the other one isn't there this time.I must ask.
I suppose I shall have to think about starting dinner soon.It is steak tonight,a couple of stuffed mushrooms ,baked tomatoes and M&* frozen triple cooked chips.(haven't had them before. Chris has just brought the washing in ...Good Man :-D :-D

Oh Mel your hair is long, my hair was nearly that length but just before we got married i had it all cut off it did feel strange to have it so short . Those cheeky Deer come close don't they ,your poor hand looks nasty ,i imagined it to be more in the middle of your hand i don't know why ,you'll be a bit weary now i suppose using the gun again.
Oh dear Ann, sounds like trouble is brewing in your close ,lets hope it doesn't turn really nasty ,why do things always happen when your out so you miss it all :-0 :-D

I must admit Ann that OH does comment about things he reads in the paper that he thinks will interest me! He gets short shrift though if I'm trying to read something else or doing the crossword!!! When the offspring lived at home (seems ages ago!) we had TV's in their bedrooms as well as ours, so there wasn't any fuss about who watched what or when!! Now we're on our own we just have the main one and a small telly in our bedroom so we can watch in bed if we're tired and go to bed early which we do quite often, particularly in the winter! It's raining here now, but not too cold - yet!!

We don't have a TV in our bedroom...I would but Chris won't.But I can if I want watch anything on my laptop with earphone things.I tend not to as I prefer just to read my kindle in bed.Sometimes in the morning as is it in bed with my cuppa I might watch something I missed the night before..I watched 2 episodes of Eastenders this morning. Tomorrow morning I will watch Casualty :-D(once Chris is up).Sometimes if I wake in the night and have trouble getting back off again I will use my phone to have a look at the news and other bits.I keep my phone in my slipper under the bed so that if emails come through in the night the buzzing noise won't disturb Chris..He thinks I am bonkers lol.I might well be :-S Just spoke to Hannah and she was in the garden throwing a tennis ball for the dog.The other dog has had to go to the 'ex partner ' for the weekend .So it seems that little dog is shared .
When I was going through the photos this afternoon I found many with me with long hair.Just passed shoulder length. It was quite wavy.I found lots of pics of me with old boyfriends too :-D..I'm not chucking those out :-D.These were when I was in my teens. I did find it difficult with some of Hannah and James's baby pictures as I couldn't work out who was who in some of them when they were first born. They were identical.I did find one pic of both of them at 10 days old.(luckily Chris had written on the back ) so I know who is who :-D.....I hadn't realised how much they were alike at birth until seeing the photos.
Dinner nearly ready .Just have to do the steaks now :-D......Is Frank still up the Pub ?

It's sounds like there could be trouble on Monday Ann, best to keep out of the way and maybe watch from the window where it's safer.
I didn't get the email of your hair Mel. I'd love to see it please.
Michelle is arriving here tomorrow. Sandra is so excited to see her sister again, she hasn't seen her since she left last September. We're got a few days out planned over the next week so that'll be nice.
I've asked Michelle to take a photo although my hair isn't down to my knees. If it works I'll email it to you all.
When you were talking about the photo's of your children Jane when they were young and how you couldn't tell them apart it reminded me of when Michelle was born.
When I was in the hospital I kept calling her Sandra as she looked just like her. I'd made a friend at anti-natal class who happened to have had her son the day before me and we were in hospital together, she heard me calling Michelle, Sandra so in the end she written a note and put it in the cot with Michelle saying "My name is Michelle can you please remember mummy" It made me laugh and I don't remember ever calling Michelle, Sandra again after that.
Well, it's gone midnight and I've been awake since 5.30 this morning so I'd better get off to bed now Night Night

Cassie now sleeps through till 7ish!! She is, I think the easiest puppy we've ever had, and such a popper! She as good as clean and dry! with only the odd accident, sits to have her lead on, so good progress! The only problem is being her teeth which are really worrying her, so today we shall try to get something to soothe them. Listening to the news which is just awful _ those poor poor people. I always wish I could do something concrete to help. If I were you Ann, I'd lock the door!!!!!!!!! :-D
