I'm still feeling very poorly and so is Sandra, OH is starting to get over it now, so I'm hoping Sandra and I aren't ill for as long as he has been.
He has his appointment for the scan in March and his first physio in April so he's starting to get things sorted one by one. He got the all clear today from the stuff off his chest he had to take to the doctors to be analysed, so that's good.
I haven't read any posts yet as I'm in a lot of pain, I've managed to pull the muscles in my side again so it's very painful to sit up or move about. I'll be glad when this cough as gone as it's so painful and I'm not sleeping very well so feel really exhausted all the time.
I just wanted to let Mandy and Mel know that your birthday cards have been posted today. I hope yours arrives on time Mandy.
Love the photo of Cas Liz, she looks so cute.
I'll try and get on here properly tomorrow if I can. Hope everyone is okay <3

<3 <3 <3.HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 <3 . Hope you have a lovely day.
Sorry to hear you are still feeling poorly Gill & Sandra, when I was ill with the same thing it took about 3 weeks to feel better although I still have the cough.
Cas is looking snug in her new coat, Paul is coming soon to take me and Ruby to Pets at Home, she needs a new harness as the one she has now is a bit tight I had bought one from Amazon but it's a little bit too big at the moment.
I haven't been on here for a couple of days so will try and get back later when I've read more of the posts.
Ruby is busy looking for Paul from the upstairs window from there she can see the car when it turns into where we are. Jameston is a strange road it's like a tree with several branches although there is only one main entrance onto the main road, we are right up the top and then it's a dead end.
Hope everyone has a good day

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY TWENTY ONE AGAIN lol lol.
Horrible night last night. I was sooooo tired I went to bed at 9.45 Forgot to take my "SLEEPER" and could't settle. I was up and down the THAMES on the "GOLDEN EAGLE" with my DAD.!!!!! Gave up at midnight, and goy up, read until 2,30 It was then I remembered my tablet, and took it. I then slept to 9.45. Ros had my COT on the coffee able when I came out.
She has gone to meet Martine, and get the bits we need.
What a horrible morning out there, I can see the run splattering against the Conservatory windows.
Yes this BUG has certainly been around long enough. It appears to be Country wide, and that's just going by us. Gawd knows what the main population is like. No wonder the Hospitals can't cope.
Going to get another drink as my throat is sore and dry. Then I think it will be my book, until Ros comes home with lunch. was going to watch ARSENAL V SPURS. but not in this weather, I will get soaked walking down the pub, and I don't want yo sit in wet cloths for two hours. The Umbrella just doesn't keep your legs dry. !!!
Have a DRY day whoever you are doing. I will try to catch up on posts later.

Morning all,
Dull miserable and raining here and its quite heavy rain too. Chickens swimming again this morning. When will it ever stop?
I thought you two were a bit premature with Mandy's birthday!!!! Yes its tomorrow three days before mine .
The only plans I have are to g to the shop, which I do every saturday for the paper and a few bits and deliver Em's eggs. Gets boring after a while to keep hearing me say that.
As oh is not in the loft today I may be able to do some crafting.

Morning all
Damp and dreary here today.
I thought I'd got the date wrong for your birthday Mandy when I saw the posts this morning as I thought it was tomorrow. ;-) Maybe you could be like the Queen and have 2 birthdays LOL
Sorry to hear you had another bad night Frank, I've had a few of them lately so I know how exhausting it feels. Hope you have a better night tonight.
I'm feeling a little better this morning after a better nights sleep. Still got this cough though which is hurting my side. Sandra is still asleep so it looks like she's had a better nights sleep too. I'm not going to wake her. I think it's better if she wakes herself up as sleep is probably the best medicine for her, she doesn't seem to be coughing like OH and I but is complaining of a sore throat.
We have decided to update our kitchen with new kitchen doors and handles so we're going to nip to the shop later to see what they've got, it's cheaper to do it that way and will give it a nice new look without it costing to much. This kitchen has been in here since we moved in 10 years ago and is looking rather old and shabby now. We already have lots of handles so won't need to buy those, which is good as they can be quite expensive. OH said he's feeling much better so will be swapping the doors and drawer fronts over today or tomorrow. We also noticed the fronts on our fridge and freezer doors aren't looking their best either and since the appliances are still in good working order OH said he will just spray paint them to freshen them up a bit. So hopefully we'll have a nice new looking kitchen soon.
We're also thinking of changing the floor covering in the bathroom as that is starting to look a bit shabby too. Then I fancy doing a bit of re-decorating, just a few feature walls to modernise the place a bit. All we've done since we first decorated 10 years ago is paint the wallpaper we originally put up so we could do with a bit of a change. It'll be nice to have a bit of colour around the place as everything is painted white at the moment and looks a bit boring.
We also need to get in touch with a carpenter to have our side gate sorted, it's falling apart now so we need a new one and we might see how much it would cost to have some wood flooring put down in the living room and hallway instead of having carpets as they are looking a bit worse for wear too. So lots of plans to brighten the place up a bit.
Just had a coughing fit ,so I'm going to get a drink to see if that helps.

Afternoon Everyone What a wet miserable day it is.Looke like it is set in now for the rest of the day. I did my shop at Tesco just now .It was so busy and quite difficult to get a parking space near the shop entrance. It is a massive car park and I wasnt prepared to park right down the end and get soaked so I just kept driving around until a space became available. All this Valentines Day stuff is getting on my nerves now. There is just so much of it and a lot of it is tat.
Fancy forgetting your sleepers last night Frank. Thats not like you. Yes you would get soaked through if you walked to the pub today thats for sure.
Anne I thought it was today you were going to Brighton for the Doggy Meet. Did I get that wrong and maybe its tomorrow? .How does Ruby know when Paul is coming? Do you tell her and then she goes to sit and look out the window :-D
Crumbs Gill, what a lot of plans you have !!!!!! Do dont do anything by halves do you LOL My kitchen is old and very tired looking. The units that is.We had them fitted in 1991 !!!!! I am pleased that OH got the all clear from his chest specimen and that he is feeling a lot better now. Sandra is doing the best thing by sleeping in and fingers crossed her virus doesnt end up with the awful cough that you have both had.
Mel your girls must think the world has come to an end and will be looking out for an Ark soon to take them away .Will all this wet ground for so long damage their feet?
Mandy I kept thinking your birthday was the 12th for some reason. I hope the card got there today . I have decided to keep one of the little outfits I bought for the new baby as it is so cute but will get the bigger size in the other one. The one I shall hang on to would be too warm in the bigger size as it will be getting towards the summer.
I woke last night at 2.40 to the sound of Thomas being sick somehwere :-S. Anyone who has a cat will know that sound !!!!. I came downstairs and just missed (just by luck ) standing in the pile he had brought up in the hall. So it was disposable gloves, kitchen paper and a dog poo bag and then the floor wipes.I was so pleased though that it hadnt happened on the lounge carpet like before. Serves him right for eating a bird and heaven knows how many mice yesterday. I had to make myself a cup of tea after all that lol went back to bed and then had trouble getting back off to sleep :-S
I am now going to get a meal going in the slow cooker. Not for today or even tomorrow but I just have things in the fridge that will go off if I dont use them now ,like fresh lemon thyme, coriander and celery.

I must admit, I've rather forgotten about Valentine's day!! I know for certain OH will have! I can't say that I'm at all bothered, as you say Jane most of what's on offer is such tat!! You did make me smile about your kitchen units! I'm afraid mine were second hand when we did the kitchen here, and could certainly do with a birthday! they're not getting one though!!! OMG, I remember only too well the sound of a cat being sick!! I also remember OH going downstairs years ago and, not being as lucky as you Jane, stood stock still and shouted for me to come and clear it up while he behaved as if he'd stood it prussic acid. I won't repeat what reaction he got from me!!!! Men! It would have been laughable if it hasn't been so sad!!! Happy Birthday Mandy. I hope my e_card got to you safely, and that you're having a lovely day. <3 What a horrid day it is here, windy, wet dull and yuk! Cas has a bone, but seems a bit bored with it!! There's gratitude for you!

Liz it is Mandy's birthday tomorrow :-) Oh poor Ian ending up standing in it !! I honestly dont know how I missed doing that as it was right in the middle of the hall way and there was plenty of it :-S Do you think we deal with this kind of thing better than the men as we have been so used to babies nappies/sick etc.I have often been called for to deal with the mess and my lanquage would have been the same as yours LOL
I expect Cas would rather be out and about rather stuck indoors with her bone. It really is miserable. Thomas has just dashed in fro mthe summerhouse ,had his cat milk and has now gone straight to his bed.Face like a wet weekend(which is really is). I have got the dish done and in the slow cooker. I took a pic of it as it looks so colourful.
Chris is looking a bit like Thomas as he cant get out in the garden .He said he would go upstairs and do the ironing :-D :-D.. I didnt argue with that :-D :-D. I think he secretly quite enjoys ironing all the shirts. I think I might see if the Winter Olympics is on. I saw some of the Couples skating this morning and they were amazing.I am not keen on the Cross Country Ski-ing though as I find it rather boring but the energy and stamina they have to do this sport is incredible.Rather them than me :-) I do love the downhill and slalom . I have just been informed by Chris that this is the 4th Saturday in a row that it rained here !!. I bet Mel can beat us on that one
:-D

I think I probably can Jane. Its still dull and raining. The ground has water laying on top of it out the back in front of the chicken run. Still it saved me washing my boots off as I paddled through it on the way back. The bantams did'nt even bother to come out of their house when I fed them this morning. You just get one little face that peeps around the door and retreats back into the house.
Well I have done the shop, egg delivery and lunch and now I am fed up. I still have a bit of washing up to do but that can wait.
Oh bought a new lock for the back door and fitted it yesterday and it now works fine. This one has a knob you twist to lock the door on the inside. Much quicker than getting the keys out of my bag every time I want it locked.
Sleep is always the best cure for these complaints I find. I hope Sandra dos'nt get it as bad as you and Glynn Gill.

LOL i don't mind ,it's like having two birthdays :-D
Yes thank you Liz i got the e card but i won't open it until tomorrow . :-) another card came this morning .
Gill sounds as if your going to be busy over the next few weeks ,we looked into having new door fronts on our kitchen units but it wouldn't have been that easy as we have two lots of shelves and lots of end panels that would have to be replaced too so we didn't do it in the end . That's good news that OH's chest specimen came back clear .
Your poor girls Mel they won't know what the ground looks like soon , good job you got the new boots or you would have had some very wet feet .
Started raining here a few hours ago ,it went over so dark ,the evenings are beginning to pull out though ,you can really notice it more when its been a brighter day.
That's a good dish full Jane , it will be nice and warming on a cold day

Well what a load of rubbish on Tele. We watched some good Nat Geo. Now turned over to "VERA" it's a repeat again.
Wet horrible day all-round today. Ros said Morrison'r was busy. She bought fish today for tonight. TWO PLAICE and some round fish for me. I don't know what it was, but not much taste to it. Ross plaice had roe in it down both sides, which I have never seen before.
Ros is talking of revamping our kitchen unit doors with that CHALK PAINT. It is suppose to be very good. I will have to look into it, before she goes off buying it. <3 ;-) ;-) I know her too well.
Your poor chickens Mel, they will have webbed feet soon and start "quacking".
Had a nice doze in the armchair this afternoon, so hope I can still sleep tonight. It feels more like 11.00 pm than 9.00, so I won't be long before I'm tucked up in my bed.
Hope the weather is better for you tomorrow Anne, It won't be nice if you are outside in this lot.
I see West Ham had a win today. 2--0 against Watford.
See you in the morning. Sleep tight. xx

Well, I'm finally having a sit down. We went out shopping at 3pm and didn't get home again until nearly 8.30pm. We managed to buy the new kitchen doors but had to buy some end panels and plinths too as they didn't have the colour doors we wanted, so now our kitchen is going to be Ivory. We may have to change the worktops too but will wait and see if the kitchen looks to bland first, as we have light coloured worktops at the moment. They were very good at the shop and cut the plinths and end panels for us so we could get them into the car and they even helped us to load the car to. We then went back into the shop to see if we could find some nice wallpaper for the main bedroom and living room but couldn't see anything we liked so ended up at Homebase.
Homebase had an offer on 3 rolls of paper for the price of 2, so we bought 9 rolls in 3 different patterns. I've bought some really brightly coloured paper for the bedroom with birds and flowers on. It's only the wall behind the bed so hopefully it won't be to much for the room. I'll only need about one and half rolls so will have plenty left over I might cut some of it up and make a picture for the other wall then it'll match the paper.
While I was in Homebase I bought a 4 foot high Areca Palm (Butterfly Palm) I've always wanted one, but it's so big I now need to move a bit of furniture around so it'll fit into the corner of the living room. I'm just hoping it won't be to dark there for it or I might have to move it to another room. We were lucky in Homebase as they had the paint we needed at £10 for 10 litres of white emulsion so we're pleased with that. I also found some red cushions at £3 each which will match the wallpaper as it has a bit of red in it. So now all we've got to do is do all the work. There's no rush so we're going to take our time with not being 100% fit at the moment.
When Sandra woke up today she said she felt a bit better and was quite happy to go shopping with us. She had so much fun helping us choose the wallpaper, although she looked a bit bored when we were buying the kitchen doors. There was a fella at the shop who was brilliant in helping us otherwise it probably would of took much longer for us to sort out the kitchen ourselves.
I haven't read the posts yet, going to get a cuppa and catch up with the Winter Olympics I recorded earlier as Sandra's been waiting all day and has been asking me when we can watch it. I'll catch up with the posts tomorrow.

Morning all
<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 <3 Have a great day what ever you are doing.
I hope the weather is better for you than us, we've got rain, hail and snow. I hope the birthday card I sent you arrived on time.
I hope the weather is nice for you too Anne, the last thing you want is to walk around is horrible weather. I'm sure Ruby will have a good time what ever the weather is like. I'd love to see some pictures if you take any.
How is your OH Mel now he's had a few days rest. Does he have much more to do in the loft now? Your poor girls in all this wet weather I don't blame them for not coming out of their house very often. Is there a way you can raise it up for them so it's not so near to the ground where the rain collects? Or maybe move them to a drier part of the garden. I know it's more work but would be better for them and of course you in the future. It can't be much fun trying to sort them out in all that mud. Your back door lock sounds much better just turning a knob and not having to mess around with keys.
How are you and Ros today Frank, I hope you are both starting to feel a bit better?
I've spent the morning preparing the bedroom for decorating so that's my next job. It's only six pieces of wallpaper so hopefully it won't take to long to do.
I'm feeling much better so far today so that's good and so is Sandra and OH. Let's hope we all carry on getting better and don't have any set backs.
I had to laugh with Sandra yesterday, she said we couldn't make a start on the kitchen today because it's Sunday and we have to cook a roast.....talk about getting her priorities right, bless her. ;-) ;-) Like I've said in the past, she loves her food.

Enjoy your day and be spoilt rotten.
Morning all,
We have sunshine and clouds and we've had a snowy shower this morning too. The three deer were laying up the top of the garden by my border and did'nt move when the shower came down.
Oh is now talking about our bit of flat roof over the lounge and wondering if we should have it redone. Its over 20 years since it was refelted after having a leak. He will go up and have a look when the weather is a bit better.
Hope Frank had a better night last night than the night before and got a good sleep.
Glad to hear you all seem to be on the mend now Gill so don't over do it and make yourself ill again. I like Sandra and her not wanting you to do the kitchen as its Sunday and there is the roast to cook. Bless........
I have one lot of washing out on the line and am just about to put more in the machine.

Good morning Gill and all,
One again "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" Mandy. By what you said yesterday, I m almost old enough to be you FATHER. o a lite more respect from all you youngster's. lol lol.
Beautiful sunny, windy morning here. I have been to the dustbin and it's very COLD. So no plans on doing anything today.
Ros has been doing our tablets for the following month. I am suppose to take two Co-codimole four times a day. Do they give us enough for a months supply. NO WAY I do try to keep to two twice a day, but still don't have enough in the pack to last the month. I will have to have words with th Doctors.
While I was reading the paper and having my 2nd cot, Ros decided to do the Veg for dinner tonight, just leaving me to make the Yorkshire, Cheese Sauce and grey. So a nice easy task for later.
Gill, you really went to town yesterday in more ways than one. All those doors Paper and paint. You are going to be Sooooo Busy. Good luck. !!!
How are the "DUCKS" doing Mel. ?? Is it still a duck pond in their runs.
We both have chesty coughs still, and I ache all over. I swear she has been kicking me in the night. lol
Madam has made another "TWIDDLE MUFF" (that's what they call them). There are little things sewn inside and outside for the person to play with while they sit, and of course they keep their hands warm, inside the muff. Martine ha been making them for ages, and takes them to the General Hospital, for distribution to the patients that want them.
It looks like the Baby Quilt thing is going to stop. The group that meet up every month have been asked to leave where they meet. The organisers have found another location in Daventry. The trouble is there is no big Tables to work on, not enough sockets for the sewing machines, and no Coffee/Tea making facilities. Plus it's up two flights of stairs.
A lad in the village has offered me a flight in a TWO SEATER AIRCRAFT. he works for a company that makes them a Sywell Airdrome. H said he can always arrange it for me. I am not sure if I would like it, but the offer is there.
Roast leg of pork with crackling for tonight. with all the usual veg, and apple sauce.
Have an enjoyable day whatever you are up too xx
