Lovely crisp morning here, just the day for a doggy birthday! It was Cas's on the 6th, she was three!!! I can't believe we've had her so long! She still plays like a puppy, but is such a sweet affectionate girl that all is always forgiven!! Today we're taking a load of scrap to the local merchant to dispose of. They always pay quite well so it's worth doing. My two daffs are coming out, and look quite springlike!! Nothing else happening here today. Hope everyone's aches and pains are better, particularly your sciatica Jane, that is such a wicked pain and very wearing. I certainly wouldn't want it again!

Afternoon all,
Another beautiful sunny day here ,a bit chilly first thing as we had a very sharp frost but once the sun came up it soon went .
Max is two today ,it doesn't seem nearly two years since we went to see him as a tiny puppy ,he was only a week old when we first saw him . Mel he had a good sniff of the birthday card ,thank you for sending it . Your Banties will like the sand bath ,i can just see them having a good old flap about in the sand .
Colin's better now Frank he had a much better night ,where as i woke umpteen times ,i had quite a bit of water as my mouth was so dry. So Ros will be back tomorrow then Frank ,is the curtain Material for your lounge or the house in Devon ?
Haven't seen the ladies Skeleton Gill but did see we had a bronze in the men's Skeleton. How is OH getting on with the painting ?

For what ever reason I haven't watched any Olympics, which is strange for me as I like any sports. It might be that I am reading more, with no distractions from the T.V.
I have ordered TWO books for the same author as I am reading now. Both "BUY IT NOW" and I am still winning the other books at £2.00 for SIX. 33p each can't be bad.
T.V has;t been on today. I got myself showered and shaved, I have put trousers and a shirt on today. I feel quite dressed up. lol If it stays like this this evening I could be tempted to go the the pub. There is a match starting at 7.45. and it will be a bit of company for me.
I didn't realise you had had CAS that long Liz, Where is all this time going ??
Simon rang earlier. He is at the hospital having his blood removed. It must be a real drag having to go there every Friday. I am not sure how much blood they take, I must ask him. I am pleased that I haven't got the same blood disorder. It looks like he is the only one in the family.
The bulbs are all coming to life in the garden. If the gaffs were open I would pick a bunch for Ros's home coming. I might ask Tony to pick up a bunch for me when he goes to Morrison's first thing tomorrow. That will give her a surprise.
We have a village draw called the 250 club. We pay £10.00 a year, and the woman who collects it has just been. Good job Ros left me with some money or she would have had to come back. I just don't use MONEY. I only ever use my card at the pub or if we go out to eat. Roa on the other hand has always got money in her purse.
I am almost at the end of my latest book. So will be glad when the others arrive. He is such a good author, to the point where you don't want to put the book down. It's about a police DCI stationed in Brighton. and a murder of a young woman. I still haven't guessed who DONE IT. If any of you enjoy a thriller, the Authors name is PETER JAMES. The book I am reading has sold NINETEEN MILLION. So he must have a draw on people. The book is called "NEED YOU DEAD"
I've done my chips for tonight, so will be looking forward to my F & C around 6.00 pm tonight.

Well the book is finished, I will return it toTony, and see if he has another to keep me going until my books arrive.
I see we have done it again Mandy, posted together. I can remember you telling us about Max as a puppy, I can't believe it's two years ago. The curtains are for Devon. he property was built in the 1860 so the windows are floor to ceiling 14/16 foot high.. Jan has battery operated blinds in them at the moment, but only come half way down. they will stay there, but she wants big curtains that she can draw in the winter. The windows have been replaced with double/triple glazed plastic windows, so there is no cold coming in. But it's nice to shut the dark nights out isn't it.
Pam next door has called this afternoon to see if I need any shopping getting tomorrow. Bit late in the day, but the thought was there. lol
The sun is so bright now, that I have had to draw the curtain, so that I can see to type. I expect er will have another good frost tonight.
Starting to get peckish, so I think I will see about getting my F & C. I can then settle down and watch the early news tonight.

'Need you dead' Frank! what a title!! :-D. I'm sure it's a good read though and will bear it in mind!! OH has come back from offloading the scrap! It made £40!! so it was worth doing!! Cas and I did a bit of gardening after lunch as it was so nice and sunny here, and every little helps!!! We have chicken (for a change!!) in white sauce for supper with mushrooms and rice. Nice and easy, not much clearing up!! At least your chickens must have had a drier day Mel which must have been a relief for them!

So your book is all finished now Frank? Lets hope you can borrow another one to tide you over until your new books arrive. That was a nice thought to buy some daffodils for Ros's return, she'll like those. It must be awful for Simon every Friday, how long as he had to go, will it be for the rest of his life?
I like your photo of your daffs Liz, the jug you have them in is very pretty and also the view from your kitchen window.
Those two years soon passed didn't they Mandy. Love the picture of Max. Pleased to hear Colin is better now, hope you both have a good nights sleep tonight. OH has almost finished the painting, just the rad and the wood the curtain track is on, but unfortunately the paint on the picture rail at the side of the window isn't dry yet so I can't take the curtains down without there being a chance of paint getting on them, so the rest of the painting will be finished after dinner, as the picture rail should be dry then.
I'm just watching today's 60 minute makeover. I like red but they have gone crazy with it, putting it in most of the rooms. I wonder what it'll look like when it's all finished?
Going to get a cuppa now and watch the end of it before dinner time. I can't believe it's almost 5.30pm and it's still light outside. Don't we put the clocks forward next month?

Happy Birthday to Max <3 <3 2 years old already !!!. He is all grown up now. I cant believe Cas is 6 either!!!.
Love your Valentine flowers Liz :-D :-D :-D
Frank, I like Peter James and have a feeling I might have read that book. That title certainly rings a bell. I think about 99% of the books I read are all Crime/Psychological Thrillers. Not long to wait now until Ros is home again. I hope the journey home is a better one than the one they had going down .
Mel I think the idea of using that covered cat litter tray is a great idea for a sand box for the birds. They will enjoy scratting around in that . I just have a bog standard open litter tray for Thomas.Luckliy he is a tidy boy and doesnt kick much litter out at all.He doesnt really use it too often . Saying that I noticed today he has used it sometime this morning and had done a poo. That is most unusual for him. Maybe it was his worm treatment and he needed to go quickly lol. Gill he is fine after the treatment .He was gone quite a long time after I did it yesterday and i could see by his fur he had been licking it :-S
Mandy I didnt know either that you could have tablets for fleas from the Vets. I do remember Worm Tabs for the dogs and they were BIG. Chester always reacted a bit strange when I did his flea stuff on his neck.Thomas is just the same. I hate having to do it.
Mel you mentioned the programme Strike. I love it and cant wait for this next series. We havent had to wait too long for this one. I enjoyed too the 2 episodes of the school children who are high achievers but are from disadvantaged backgrounds. They will be followed for the next couple of years until they finish school. I felt really quite sad that some of them felt that they were just not good enough and lacked confidence ,,just not realising that they can achieve any goal .It brought tears to my eyes at times with the terribly cramped conditions some were having to live in and not a free space anywhere for them to be on their own to do their school work. I cant wait now to see the next programme which will probably be this time next year.I want them all to do well :-DThey deserve to.
Frank I watched Shetland . I have seen this before and it is not my favourite really. All a bit slow and dour .
Where is Anne? Hope she is alright and was able to take Ruby to the Doggy Meet on Sunday.
Oh heck,I need to get a log on the fire.It has almosrt gone out . Chris has left me in charge too :-S

Pleased to hear Thomas is okay Jane, I was worried about him with you saying he ran outside, that he might of run off again. You were saying that the cat litter goes outside the little tray, we used to have that problem when we had cats so used the base of the cage we had underneath it, it caught all the bits and was then easy to clean.
Sandra would be make up to live where you live Liz, she loves horses and would really like watching them from the window. What a lovely birthday present, I like pretty things like that. So Cas is three, like Max the time has gone by really quickly.
I thought OH was almost finished with the painting, but forgot he's still got the emulsion to put on the ceiling, that will be done tomorrow then the room will be finished. I'm enjoying seeing the transformation, but not the mess that goes with it. Every room has got something in it, from houseplants to boxes with kitchen doors in, so I'll be glad when it's all finished and we can put the bungalow back to normal again. At the moment we have a sofa right in the middle of the living room so OH can get to the wall where the window is, which is making it difficult to walk around.
Going to dish up dinner now, OH will do the last coat of gloss paint after we've eaten, then once the living room is completely finished he'll make a start on painting the hall. It's all go here at the moment.

Morning all
Dry but cold here today.
I've had quite a busy morning already. The elderly lady (almost 99 years old) who lives next door has had another fall and broken her ribs, she is in hospital at the moment but is due home today. Her daughter asked me to clean her mum's bathroom and kitchen, but because I wanted to watch the Olympics at 10am I got up very early and went around there, OH came with me and did the kitchen so I could crack on with the bathroom. It's a good job I was cleaning the bathroom as the elderly lady fell a few weeks ago onto her shower door and I noticed it wasn't in place properly, so OH and I fixed it to make it safe. I dread to think what might of happened if she had lent on it. Anyway between us we had all the cleaning done and was back here before 9am.
OH is painting the living room ceiling now so I'm in my bedroom with my laptop and ready to watch the Olympics in here.
I didn't sleep very well last night, probably because I knew I had to be up early, so no doubt I'll be tired this afternoon.
I'm hoping to watch Love my garden later, so hope I'm not to tired.
I like the photo's you sent Mel, but hope you don't think I'm being rude as I couldn't work out what they were.....Sorry.
Hope Ros has a safe journey home Frank. I bet you can't wait to see her again I know how much you've missed her. Did you managed to get the daffodils for her?
I think I might take a quick look at my family tree while I'm waiting for the Olympics to start. I've just heard another Bronze medal has been won for Team GB. Let's hope we win a few more medals today. :-D :-D

Morning Gill and all,
Suns out here again today so lets hope it stays like this as the chicken run is starting to dry out in places but still like a mud wrestling ring in others.
Gill they are draw string purses all hand sewn or maybe you would call them a money pouch.
Only the usual to do today, the shop for the paper and Em's for the eggs and I must take her her box back the biscuits came in. Little Sam is into making things with cardboard boxes etc so I have a selaction of different sized boxes and some empty toilet roll middles and kitchen roll middles for him and some bubble plastic.
I don't know why this daughter of next doors dos'nt clean her mothers house herself. I hope she pays you for doing it if not I think she has a blimmin cheek.
Frank how did you sleep last night? Your Ros is back today and I am sure you'll be very pleased to see her. Hope they have a better journey home than they did on the way there and a safe one too.

Not a bad day here, so we are planning to pull a couple of bushes in the garden, and ear mark the spot for some more snowdrops and a new flowering bush at some stage! I have hoovered all through the bungalow, from end to end!! Not before time! So I'm feeling smug and self satisfied!! Gill, surely this lady's daughter can clean her mother's house?!! Unless of course you're being paid. You have such a kind heart, but do be careful that people don't take advantage of it!! You'll be glad to see Ros Frank, a week can seem a long time on your own, but I think it can make you appreciate each other more. <3 Off now to do some supervising!! :-D

Good morning fair MAIDENS,
Yes Madam will be back today. I rang her about 10,30 this morning. hey had just arrived at Jo's o pick Ella up, then they will set off. Should be home here around 3.00 pm. They will stop on the way back as Ella is a bad travellers in a car. I have suggested getting her some sickness tablets, which they haven't shout about. If it helps her enjoy the journey more, I think she should take one.
I got Tony to get me some flowers for Ros, instead of Daffs. also a paper, which I have been reading, for the passed hour or so. The flowers don't seem very special, but it is a MAN who chose them. :-| :-| :-| At least she will know the thought was there.
I've just looked down at my screen and see I have 20 emails waiting for me. I bet most will be rubbish. I do wonder where these people get your email address. Where ever possible I click on un-surscibe button. and hope that stops them.
Well the last two nights have been terrible sleep wise. I have laid awake till well passed midnight and wide awake by 5.00 am. This morning I was drinking tea at SIX, showered and dressed by 7.00 am
I have tidied around, (not that I have made any mess) run the hoover over the lounge. So all ready for when madam arrives.
I told Ros if I wasn't home when she gets back, to get the key from PAM OR VALERIE. But I should be home around 2.30 anyway.
So the decorating is almost finished then Gill. You were very good to go and clean your neighbours bathroom and kitchen, before she gets home. Will you and OH be her "CARER" till she is feeling better. Where does her Daughter live, is it far away ??
I hope the weather holds up for you Mel, it will give the ground a chance to dry out.The girls will think it's SUMMER. !!!!
I should have mentioned to Ros and Co. to get something to eat on the way home, as I don' think I have much for them here. The bread in a week old, which stays fresh as I keep it in the fridge, and we have plenty of tins of Salmon and meats, so they won't starve. Which reminds me I haven't had anything to eat today. So will go and get some toast and "my mate", before I walk to the pub.
