Morning all
<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL <3 <3 <3 Have a good one ;-)
It's been snowing here this morning and the wind is up again, it's very cold.
It sounds like you've getting a better nights sleep on your own Frank. I bet you feel good for it? It must be great to watch what you want with no soaps. I bet you're spoilt for choice? I was thinking, is the pub far from your bungalow? Maybe if you walk there, if you feel up to it of course, you could get a taxi back, then you will have had at least one night out this week. Mind you it probably depends on how cold it is first. Just a thought.
Well, I've stripped another wall and done some more filling, so now I'll move onto the other end of the room. I think it's going to take a couple more days to take all the wallpaper off the walls and fill them, but then I can get on with re-decorating to make it look nice again. I still need to nip out to see if I can find some more suitable paper first.
Going to watch a bit of the Olympics while I have a cuppa, then I'll get back to the walls.

Oh poor you and Colin Mandy. It seems this BUG is going round and round. Both Ros and I have had sore throats and coughing for a few weeks now. I think I am passing it to her and vis versa. Hope you borg feel a lot better soon.
Gill, if I walk to the pub I would have to walk home as the nearest TAXI in 4/5 miles away. You can just imagine the cost to bring me home which is less than a mile. I can walk it in TEN MINUTES. If I am lucky enough Peter an old friend could be down there, and he would give me a lift home. I wouldn't mind the walk in the summer time, but this weather is so unpredictable, it can be dry when I go out, and throwing it down when I walk home. Plus it's blooming cold, it takes you ages to get warm agin.
How many rolls of paper do you need for your room ?? I always wrote on the wall under the last piece of paper I hung the number of rolls I needed for that room. Now of course I don't do any decorating, and have a chap who does it, and is not too expensive.
We have got the rain back now, with a very strong wind. So if it continues through the day, I won't be going out again this evening.
I spoke with Ros this morning. They have the rain also. They were hoping to go to an outside Garden Centre today, but have to wait to see if the rain clears up. She and Jan didn't bother with pancakes last night after their dinner. She said we can have some new week when she is home.
I have a large chicken potion out of the freezer for tonight. I might have a few chips and beans. Rather than do potato's and vegetables. A lot easier for me, and much quicker
How did the PARTY go last night Jane. Has Firz gone home now ???
I have been trying to sort out our RAC membership. I had another Email this morning reminding me that I haven't renewed. I am now waiting for more Emails from Tesco Club card confirming the vouchers have been redeemed and instructions of how to renew my RAC.
I see I have some Emails to open, so it might be them.

Well after almost 4 hours on the phone to Tesco and the RAC WE ARE RAC members again. What a game I have had. The best of it is. I renewed my membership on the 11/01/2018. BUT Tesco didn't send me the redemption code. that I had to pass on to the RAC. In the meantime our Membership expired. So when Tesco sent me the code today. I was unable to redeem it, as I wasn't a member. Good job we didn't need them in between time.
I feel quite exhausted now. I think I need a LAY DOWN. lol lol.
Still a horrible day here. Wet and windy.

Morning all,
Thanks to all of you for the lovely cards. I even had one from my 2nd cousin in Ohio.
There was a very heavy frost this morning but its all gone now and its dreary and miserable and there's a wind too.
O Mandy not ill again. You must be really cheesed off by now and just when you were on the mend too. I wish you both better soon. Sending love and wishes.
Gill I can see Sandra chose the lovely card all in pink. She made a very good choice and its really nice with the little bird and butterflies and flowers.
In fact all my cards this year from you all are smashing.
Frank another good night for you then. It seems sleeping on your own suits you. Perhaps its because your not waiting for Ros to come to bed and hav'nt had the soaps on the telly.
EDIT
Wrote this this morning and did'nt post it as things keep arriving and people.

Goodness, for a moment I thought you'd got stuck in a time warp Mel!!! then I saw your edit!! Glad you've had a good day, and that all your cards etc arrived safely! What a horrid day its been, so cold and wet, Its teeming again now and poor old Merlin is peed off to say the least!! Cas had a good run at lunch but even with her coat on she still got got plastered! when will it ever stop! Have just put a shepherds pie in the oven which should be nice for our supper. Sorry to hear you're not well again Mandy! I think you're right about you both picking up anything and everything through being ill. The chap came today to cut our field hedge, both sides! We were really surprised, as it's such a vile wet day! The ruts in the field from the tractor are a bit deep (!!) but it'll recover and at least it's done and looks good. There is just the hazel hedge right at the bottom left which OH will do with a billhook once this wretched rain stops! Glad to hear you're coping ok Frank. Do be careful not to have any misadventures while you're on your own! ;-)

I have just cleaned the big girls out so they have a nice dry floor now.
I have had 15 birthday cards and a Valentines card. Emm came down with the boys and brought me home made biscuits and my present was done up in Minion paper and it is a pretty pale green jug with fresia bulbs and potting compost in it so I can plant them myself. They are all blue double ones. Oh's card arrived with a big jar of mixed sweets, jelly ones and fried egg ones and paper covered eggs which I suppose are chocolate and marshmallowy ones. He thought I could put my battery lights in the jar once we have eaten the sweets.
Not forgetting my 24 red roses.
Iv'e had a lovely day and its been much milder and we have'nt had the heating on since this morning but it is o so dull out there and raining now too.
Well I think its time for a cuppa before shutting all the chickens in.
O and Robby fed out of my hand this morning which really made my day. <3
Love to all and thanks once again for the lovely cards.

Well it's been raining most of the day with very strong winds. I might ring Tony to see if he is going to the pub in the car. He never drinks a lot when driving, so would be safe enough.
I can just imagine a tractor going round a field in this weather. It's a wonder he didn't sink in the mud. Has he left a lot of branches for you to clear Liz,?? Poor Cas going out in all that rain, but being the breed she is, she won't mind it. Do you just towel her off, and let her lie by the wood burner. ?? Poor old Merlin, I bet he's glad to be under cover, and not out in his paddock.
So pleased you had a nice day Mel, RED ROSES too. Who's a lucky girl then. ;-) ;-) It will be nice to plant those bulbs and see them come up in the spring. Where will you put them, inside or out ?? Go easy on all those sweets. !!! So Robby is around again, feeding from your hand. We have very tame blackbirds that come up close when Ros is weeding etc, looking for worms and grubs. But not close enough to feed from your hand.
How have you got on today Gill, is the hall all clear of wallpaper now. What colour are you doing in there. ??
I've just poked my head outside and it's stopped raining, but the wind is blowing a gale. Should I be tempted to stroll/be blown to the pub. Not knowing when and if it will rain again later. I haven't eaten this evening, so was going to get something at the pub. They do a good selection in the evening. Curry, Ham, Egg and chips, burgers etc. Being the football will be on, I expect a goos few will be in, and as I have only spoken to Ros today, a bit of company will be nice. I'm getting lonely :-( :-( :-(
Might see you later, where our Jane this evening. Hope she is alright.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Didnt you do well with so many cards ans ALL the Roses :-D The sweetie jar sounds a good idea for your little lights .
Frank, Fitz left here just before 11 this morning. Last night was really good. W all enjoyed the meal and plenty of wine :-D.It was midnight when we all trotted off to bed. So I think it is going ot be an early night tonight. It seems you are sleeping well with out Ros :-D. Have you considered one of these beds that are zipped up the middle. So although it is still a double it is like sleeping in separate beds, and you dont disturb each other .
Oh dear Mandy is this the bug that the children had ? I hope you both dont suffer for too long. You will still be feeling weak and wabbit from the flu :-S
Your Girls will think it is their birthday too today Mel now they have had had a nice cleaning out. :-D :-D
I started this post about 2 hours ago now but Hannah and Janice both rang while I was typing, plus I have been up and down doing dinner. I am going to hit the submit button now before I get any more interruptions :-D

No there's no clearing up for us Frank as the chap who does that job clears the debris and then puts it through a woodchipper. Actually Merlin prefers to be out whatever the weather as he's a native Exmoor pony and they always stay on the moor year round whatever the weather. The only reason he was in his yard today was because the hedge was being done at some stage. Cas is immune to weather too, wind rain, snow, whatever she's up for a run!! OH forgot Valentines day !!! I have to be honest, I don't really mind at all! What with my birthday, wedding anniversary and valentines day all inside three weeks, I think he can be forgiven, particularly after all these years!! Cas is on my lap!!!

I'm not cooking tonight. I did get mince out to do a sheep sh*t pie but I don't know where today has gone. Oh said he was'nt bothered so he will have toasted cheese sandwiches or he may even have beans on toast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think he has only had beans on toast one other time in the last 20 years. I like beans on toast with a fried egg so it would suit me. We did have choc rolls and a drink a little earlier on and some of the homemade biscuits from Em.
I must write to my cousin and thank her for the card and explain why I hav'nt been in touch klately with all this loft stuff going on.

Sandra is pleased you like the card she chose for you Mel. Yes, I think it had to be a pink one with it being her favourite colour.
So you had a good night last night Jane. It does sound like you'd benefit from an early night with having a late one last night.
I haven't started the hall yet Frank, I'm still stripping the living room walls. Only have the chimney breast and one alcove left to do, so that'll be done tomorrow then it's over to OH for him to do the painting before I put the new wallpaper up.
It'll be nice for you to go to the pub if your friend can bring you back and to eat out as well, that'll be a nice treat for you.
Going to dish up dinner now and finish watching Emmerdale.

It is tipping it down here :-S. I can't see Frank walking to the pub if he has the same there.
Liz does the rain just run off Merlins coat with it being so thick? Is Cas still happy with her new coat with leggings? :-D
Beans/Eggs on toast are so good Mel. I haven't had that for a while. Quite fancy it myself now lol . Maybe at the weekend.
I am pretty sure that Thomas might have worms again but according to my calendar his next worm treatment is not due until the beginning of March.I dont know if it is safe to give him the next lot yet. I shall have to give the Vet a ring .
Gill, you are doing so well with getting all that wallpaper off .You make me feel exhausted LOL. You manage to get so much done is such a short time it reminds me a bit of that TV programme 60 minute make over :-D :-D
Chris's Valentines card made me chuckle. It said ' I love you even more than I did yesterday' <3 then in brackets [yesterday you got on my NERVES a bit] LOLOL I had a lovely Orchid and Flowers too.
Waiting for James to get home now before dishing up. He is on his way.

Yes, Exmoors have virtually waterproof top coats, with a warm thick coat underneath which stays dry ,so they are pretty cosy! In the summer they moult the whole lot off and have quite sparse coats. Cas loves her coat but it hasn't got leggings I'm not sure that she'd like them, on the other hand she might be ok! 'Watching Yorkshire Vet', a repeat! but well worth seeing again!

Morning all,
Oh woke me just before 9 this morning as he had the phone in his hand. It was my best friend from when I lived in Suffolk. She still lives in the village and so by the sounds of it do a lot of the people I knew when I lived there. She had'nt sent me a card as she was away and could'nt remember our address so she rang me this morning to wish a happy birthday for yesterday.
Its quite a bright morning here with sunshine at the moment. It got a lot warmer yesterday and I was actually able to go outside without a coat on. When I shut the big girls in last night the run was completely flooded again after the heavy rain we had .
Liz I was sure Cas's new coat covered he little legs too. I thought that was the whole idea of having a new one. We even had a pick from you too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning Mel morning all
Bright and sunny here and like you Mel a little warmer than it has been lately.
How lovely to have a phone call from your friend, I bet that was a surprise? Your poor girls in the wet again. Does it put them off laying their eggs?
What a funny card off Chris Jane. ;-) ;-) I've just finished stripping the wallpaper off the living room walls and now I'm having a break watching the ice skating from the Olympics. I had to put it on pause for 10 minutes as I was stripping the last of the paper behind the TV. OH is in the loft looking for the old TV stand as I noticed the one we're using at the moment is starting to come apart and needs tightening up.
I think I'll make myself a cuppa, I'm really thirsty with all the dust about. At least my job is finished for the time being and now it's over to OH to do the painting before it's back to me to re-paper the walls. We work well as a team. :-)

Would you believe it OH has just come in from de-pooing the field with two daffodils! a belated valentine apparently!! who says romance is dead!! No, the idea of Cas's coat was to get one that protected her tummy from getting so muddy and wet. Her legs aren't the problem as they towel dry easily enough. The coat she's got does a brilliant tummy job and has made a big difference! Not a very nice day again sunshine and showers!! at least it's warmer Don't overdo it Gill! ;-)
