Dinner over and good chat with son on phone. He always rings on his handsfree whilst driving home from work and I do worry about his concentration but he only laughs.
Guess I used to use a huge thing in the car when his age and survived.
Dinner was good even though mackerel smelly to cook.
It has just started to pour with rain and we are preparing to go out to RSPB meeting.

David Love Linnets so pretty.
Might not get back to you all until tomorrow evening so have a good night and enjoy tomorrow

Evening everyone,

We had our day's shopping , i didn't buy much ,just our lunch and a Pram Charm for Katie's bracelet , i didn't really see any thing i wanted ,but it's hard shopping with little ones in tow they soon get bored , i find i spend more when i go with my sister ,hubby said i should take the little ones with me all the time !!! lol
Chelsea's not to keen on using the toilets when we go out , we seem to have spent a lot of time saying do you need the toilet !! i think its the hand dryers that she's not keen on , we did get her to go in M*S ,after having a right old time going up and down in there blooming lift !!! we pressed the button for the basement and it took us right up to the top floor ,we didn't realise and got out only to see it wasn't the floor we wanted , got in again and another lady said she had been riding up and down !!! found the basement eventually and had to pass all the china to get to the childrens department !!! fancy putting china on the same floor!!!

Now cooking a piece of Gammon ,got the family coming tomorrow for tea ,so that will make an easy tea .

It's been really cold here i didn't bother to take gloves and a scarf as the shops are so hot and your forever putting them on and off
The wind seems to have got up a bit , i can hear it blowing well out there .
I'am worn out , bet i nod off later lol

Liz ,I just spotted your post. It's funny how you can miss one .I bet Ian feels better now he is 'clean' lol, even better when his hair is washed.Nothing worse than the smell of unwashed hair is there. It's that greasy smell.
He sounds like he is doing fine.Brilliant! Poor Merlin,I bet he wonders where his Dad is.Hopefully soon Ian can get out and give him a big fuss.

See! there is Mandy.
So you still have a full purse then??I use to hate taking the children to the loo in shops when they were young.Especially when they were at the curious age. What's this Mum ? It might have been the Sanitary Bin,or the machines selling Condoms or ST's lol

Hannah and Chris have just got home.Hannah has got a lovely knee!!!! She fell up the escalator in Brixton Tube Station. She has a cracking bruise and a big plaster.Did anyone help her??? Did they heck .What is wrong with people these days.

Liz ,I hope your cousin and family are safe out there in Queensland.

Poor Hannah , hope she ok ,those esculators are sharp on the edge !!
That's awful no one helping her , i'd always ask if i could help ,but i suppose in London it's different ,people are careful who they get involved with as they never know how they'll react !!!

Morning All,

sun is shining today so everything looks better if you know what I mean.

I was thinking the other day about old fashioned product names after we were dicussing O*o and Bi*to. There were Pearce Duffs things and Brown and Polson's can you remember any more?

Biscuit makers Huntley and Palmers, Crawfords and McVities which is still going but I think they are now owned by one firm.

Morning Mel

We did have some sun this morning but the clouds have just come over, also have had a scattering of snow.
just phoned Mar*s and my trousers which I ordered on line due in tomorrow are in the shop now so will go down later to collect them.

I have to stay in this morning as I am waiting for some flowers to arrive, I have been warned they are coming. BECAUSE it's our 32nd Wedding Anniversary today -, we swopped cards this morning before OH went to work.
off to wash kitchen flloor and have a coffee, think I'll have the coffee first.

Jane

Jane Report 3 Feb 2011 10:14

Happy Anniversary Fiona.I bet the flowers will be gorgeous.

I haven't seen Hannah this morning Mel,but I bet her knee feels sore and stiff.
I can see the Red Kites circling overhead again.I could watch them for hours.I think they use their tails as a rudder.

Coffee for me now and then I think I am going to have a look at As** today for a change.
Talking of biscuits Mel ,I think we normally just had rich tea,and Nice. Then for specials maybe at the weekends we would have Bourbon, custard creams and pink wafer fingers.
Not forgetting the squashed fly biscuit lol

Right off for my coffee now.

Annx Report 3 Feb 2011 10:27

Morning All,

Well I slept very well last night after our trip and a day with MIL and FIL.......now I know where OH gets his 'chatter' genes from!! lol

We weren't the first ones to arrive at their house at 7.30am........their neighbours over the road and 2 children had arrived about quarter of an hour before to bring presents and sing happy birthday on the doorstep!! Hope they didn't wake the other neighbours. All the way there in the car they were calling out what all the messages on the overhead gantries were and what it said on ALL the vans we passed..... between sucking their sweets!! lol I said to OH that it was like having children with us. lol They enjoyed the museum and all the old tvs etc. Sadly it has changed a lot since we went before and become more child friendly, replacing many of the exhibits we saw last time with interactive things for children.....pity there wasn't room for both. MIL and FIL decided to watch a film in the IMAX with us after all although they hadn't been too bothered about that before. Well, once they saw the size of the screen they were amazed.....16 metres high, 22 metres wide. I was pleased we managed to see the film about the International Space Station, it was the next one showing when we were ready to go in. I kept an eye on them the first few minutes as the sound effects and 3D are VERY real when the rockets were taking off, but they were fine.....OH squirmed in his seat a bit, doesn't deal well with heights anyway so I expected that. The film was fascinating about the work they do and how they deal with day to day weightless living......everywhere has grabhandles inside and outside the craft and they wear socks so not to damage things as the space inside is tiny and full of cables and stuff. They even have an exercise bike they strap themselves to. For MIL and FIL the film turned out to be the success of the day for them.......they were absolutely truly thrilled by it. We are taking them out for a meal on Friday to finish off the birthday celebrations.

Popping out now as A*di are advertising birdboxes with a webcam in which is something I have always wanted since I saw Bill Oddie's programme. They are £39.99......could be an early birthday present for me!!! lol

Happy Anniversary Fiona!! Will catch up with posts later....BBL

Jane Report 3 Feb 2011 14:52

What a quiet day here. What is everyone up to.I wonder If Ann has got the bird box with webcam?
The sun is shining and I have some hand washed things on the line.Trouble is I have found them on the ground twice as it is quite windy and they are on hangers, and it is difficult to peg onto the line.So I am keeping a beady eye on it.

I just had a letter put through saying the second book on 'One Hundred Years of Cranford'(our little village)down the road is now out and would I like to buy one.It is the 2nd one done by 2 local ladies.I enjoyed the first so will be getting this one too.

Oh dear have just heard a little bang on the kitchen window !.I better go and have a look.Hopefully I won't find anything injured.

It sounds like a successful day yesterday Ann.I had to have a chuckle as I pictured the in laws in the car with the sucking ,and running commentary lol

Annx Report 3 Feb 2011 16:38

Poor Hannah, Jane.....those escalator steps always look vicious, I bet she will have a whopper of a bruise. It would be nice if people just asked if she was ok wouldn't it.

Well I think I need to find out a bit more about the webcams. Some appear to be wireless, others not?? The ones that were for sale had a cable and scart and I'm not sure whether you had to connect it up to the house to record or whether it was just to play things back if you know what I mean!!!!! The boxes looked well made though.

I have some special clip things to put over hangers on the line ........OH's shirts were always coming off when I put them on hangers. They must be at the bottom of all the pegs !!! ......but I forget I have these things when I put a hanger out.

Pink wafer biscuits.......I remember having those often as a child. I used to pass Frears and B*acks biscuit factory on the school bus and on sunny days when the windows were open you could smell nothing but custard creams. They used to sell cheap boxes of broken biscuits and I can remember buying them for me and for mum when I was first married. Now it is hops that I can smell on sunny days from the Ever*rds Brewery about a mile away. lol The factory is very well kept with neat lawns all around with a helicopter hangar on the lawns. In spring the edges of the lawns are ablaze with crocus, all kinds of daffodils, really nice. It is all kept so neat and tidy and with no litter anywhere that you would think it was just an office block not a brewery.

If we get a nice day next week we are going to Derbyshire to look at the snowdrops at Hopton Hall between Ashbourne and Matlock. I love snowdrops and have never been there before. When they started restoring the place and the overgrown gardens all these snowdrops that had been dormant appeared and now the display is said to be really good.....as good as some of the best.

Better check the chicken crown now and put the veg on.....OH says he is starving. He trimmed his beard today and I cut his hair. After he let both grow the longest I have ever seen them, I now feel as if I have a 'new' man. lol He's going to really feel the cold now though!!

It IS quiet here today......where is Frank.......not getting into mischief I hope!!
