Well, Mandy I think it's a bit like you with your orange tea trolley.......I probably threw away the stuff that came back in fashion that I could have sold! lol There is an 80s purple fishtail dress in crepe somewhere ........maybe that will come back in fashion? No, Maureen is right and the other thing is they always change old fashions to give them a new twist don't they.

Frank, thanks for passing on the e-mail, looks interesting so I will have a good look at it tomorrow. I hope Lewis won't remember asking about lifts when he's older!! lol

Forgot to say Jane.......great that Janice is feeling 'human' again. Crufts is a great goal for her, even in a wheelchair. It looks like there will be improvement from now!! :-D

Well Mel, I had a look for your chap with no success either!! As it is a french name I did wonder whether he is a chap I found living in Jersey born 1874. In every census he has a different name and pronunciations can vary with foreign names or the names be changed to more 'english' versions. I doubt it is him, but these are the names for him in each census:-

1911 John J Billot shown as a widower, but no wife on 1901census
1901 Jean G Billot
1891 Jean J Bellot
1881 George J Billot

Off to bed now, so sleep tight everyone xx

Yes David, that's my Alfie, the one with all the health problems that the vet could probably retire to an exotic location on. He's never going to be a big fat ginger tom, he's still not much bigger than a kitten.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Suns out today and oh gone ringing for church. Little Old Man in the garden and new cockrel (The Black Knight) is shut in the house so Old Man can have a peacful day in the garden. There is a cutting wind though out there.

What am I like putting down FMD.......... I meant soemthing completely different.

Thanks for what you found Ann. I may look further into some of those. The wife died in Marylebone at the tender age of 41. I found the connection though.

Did laugh at the oldies night being the 80's!!!! That generation dos'nt know what it was all about!! 60's were the best time to be a teenager with all the new fashions and pop groups.

Afternoon all,

Sleept like a log last night. Ros said I woke her a few time coughing, but didn't know about it !!!

Jan rang this morning, asking if Ros wanted to go to Milton Keynes ( Is the POPE a catholic) They went off about Noon, so will be a late late dinner today.

Sheets are on the line, having a good blow.

Poor old Kim, the weather isn't being very kind to you. Shirl. has had snow again, but all cleared away again. (she's been getting onto me about the doctors) :-| :-| :-|

Haven't seen William, where the devil are you ????

Still very bunged up in the head, and coughing well.Hope she remembers to bring me a fresh box of tissues. Three box's this week, already.

Hows the garage floor now Jane,??? Nice and clean !!!!

My lawn looks like it need a trim. The snowdrops look a treat, and all the daffs, are on their way up. Will wait another couple of weeks, unless we get a real dry spell, with no fear of frost.

Going to get a coffee. see you later.

Hi All,

Yes, I'm still around Molly (I never know what to call you? - My daughters name is Mandy - please put me right!) & Frank, thanks for thinking of me. I have been looking in on you all but have been a bit on the busy side this weekend.

Glad to see you're back on the posts Frank, hope all the sniffles and stuff have gone now and the sore nose is getting better.

Ann, so you were in Coventry, you should have called in on us for a cuppa. Poor old Lady Godiva is getting fed up with all that terrible upheaval that's going on in Broadgate, Peeping Tom is the least of her worries. If I was her I'd gallop off down Hertford Street and get a bit of peace elsewhere.

We didn't catch up with D O I until we watched the recording on Wednesday. I think Katerina must have read my post on here about her cleavage! She was well covered up and looked more like a Goth!! The skating/dancing is hotting up now so it's more enjoyable. I don't know about others of you but, like a lot of these other shows, 'celebrities' they choose are often somebody I've never heard of.

Tonights TV looks to be good and sad at the same time. Last of 'Midwives' - but Upstairs Downstairs returns. D O I will once again go on the recorder. We were watching the Lottery quiz show last night and Lotto time came up. I said to OH, have you got your draws on? She slapped me round the face!!! I had to explain I said 'draws' - not drawers! (she didn't really). When she was young she wanted to be a receptionist in a posh hairdressers - ie:- she wanted to be a hair-line hostess. Boom boom.

I think we must have had a flutter of snow in the night as it was white over in the Close. I thought it was a thick frost but a car drove out and it literally crunched all the way.

It's lunch time now so I'll pop back on later probably. Sunday evening is our weekly phone call to B in L in Dublin. Things are a bit tough over there lately and he has been in and out of hospital a lot since he had a triple by-pass. I'm very lucky to have a B i L who is more like a brother to me. Especially since I lost my own brother to the Big C some years ago now. Get the hankies out, I'm an orphan now :-(

Have a nice Sunday all

Lovely bright sunny day but feeling a bit cold so heating has gone on. Kitchen all nice and tidy again after yesterday, that's the trouble with roast dinners, there's always so much to clear up after.

Might just sit and read my book for the rest of the afternoon, going to take me ages to get through this one, nearly 1,000 pages, it's called The Passage

Afternoon everyone,

What a lovely sunny day we've had , we took ourselves off to the coast (Hunstanton) it was 4 degrees when we left here ,by the time we got to the coast it was 8 !! loads of people about all enjoying the sea air .
It was nice going along in the car there was a little wooded area that was full of snowdrops and those little yellow flowers ,carn't think of their name now !!

Frank, glad to see you back ,i still think you should go and see the doctor tomorrow ,you might need a little some thing to help get rid of that cough.

William, call me Mandy , i'am Amanda really but on one ever calls me that , i put my board name as MillymollyAmanda because when i first came onto Genes there were two Amanda's on the threads, and it got a bit confusing ,and i tried putting Mandy but it wouldn't accept that , i haven't tried it since , i might see if will let me now.

Maureen , i always think there's lots of washing up and mess after having a roast , i suppose its having a tin for the roast ,one for the stuffing and also the Yorkshires puds.
Wow that's some book with all those pages , does it make your hand ache holding it after a while!!

We had a Fish and chip lunch ,so it will be an easy tea tonight ,just a sandwich , or a piece of toast .

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 19 Feb 2012 16:18

No , just tried and it will not accept Mandy or Amanda as a board name ,just says board name already in use !! so i'll have to stay as i am :-(

How nice Mandy to just get in the car and head for the coast for a few hours, bet that blew the cobwebs away.

The book's not that comfortable to hold you're right and the print is quite small, I am struggling with it a bit, it's got a bit boring now but according to my daughter I should persevere as it is worth it. we'll see.

Very quiet on here today, hope everyone is having a relaxing day.

Afternoon all
What a beautiful day it has been.Sunshine all around, but a bit on the nippy side.Mandy you are making me jealous again lol with your trip out to the coast.I often dream of where I lived as a child by the sea.I do miss it.When Mum was still here and I went down to visit her,I would often take myself down to the beach and just sit and look out to sea and breath in the wonderful sea air.

Well I think we are back to normal just about after yesterdays disastrous start. We have a heater on in the garage to dry it out,and all signs of 'doodoo 'scrubbed away :-D

Just spoke to Hannah, and she is not happy with the new flat she moved into yesterday :-S :-S.Her description was 'Manky' and 'Shabby'.She said that some bits of furniture that was there when her and her friend viewed, has gone and been replaced with tat.Damp around the patio doors in her bedroom and can smell it,and the place was filthy when it was supposed to have been cleaned ,and more :-|.I think she is going to ring the agents tomorrow. It is her Birthday soon and I think she would like Ike* vouchers.(good idea I reckon)

Pat was it your OH's birthday this weekend? I remember you said your family were coming as a surprise.Sounds like you had lovely time.

Hi to everyone else .I need to crack on with dinner as I haven't even started :-S

Hi again All,

Been sunny here all day and the washing dried out in the bitter breeze so it all smells nice. Oh cut the back lawn today raked up the cuttings as it is near the pond and then cut it again.

I have'nt done much today as it was so cold outside even though the sun was shining.

Jane glad you have the mess sorted now. GIVE MY LOVE TO JANICE PLEASE WHEN YOU NEXT SPEAK.

As to Hannah's new flat, I should get on to the agent as soon as poss and explain as to the state of the place and the different furniture. thats just not on, viewing somewhere and then different things in there and it not being clean. What rotten luck. I did'nt know Hannah was going to get her own flat, as you did'nt mention it to my knowledge. Is it because of the boyfriend???? :-D

Frank

Frank Report 19 Feb 2012 19:04

The mind boggles Mel, mine is working overtime. !!!!

Jane, Did Hannah pay a deposit ??? if so she wants the agent to sort out the flat, otherwise as and when she decides to leave, she could end up loosing the deposit because of the STATE (she left it in)
Like you, I would love to be near the sea. I do miss my Sea fishing trips. all that sea air, and a few pints with the lads, when we got back to the Athletic Club, Rockingham Road..

Mandy, Glad you enjoyed your day out. Fish and Chips for Sunday Lunch. is certainly different. Did you have it in the newspaper ( sorry they don't do that now. do they) I always thought it tasted better when we had newspaper, the vinigar seemed to soak into it, and gave off a wonderful smell. I can smell it now !!!!
I'm a boring old far#, Roast pork, with all the trimmings. I had it ready for when Ros got back about 5.30pm I did all the washing up, so she could watch D O I What a great husband she has :-) :-) :-)

Nice to see you are O.K. William. pleased to say that my man flu is improving, Just a bit heady, and this horrible cough. I am getting there.

Mel, I bet the grass smelt smashing after the cut. It's one of those smells (fresh cut grass)

I got the washing in earlier, It smelt so fresh, after having a good blow. All folded up, and ready for Ros to iron.

Hi Everyone,

It's been a lovely sunny day here, but a cold wind got up this afternoon. We called to see how FIL's nose was after the operation on Friday and it didn't look as bad as we thought it might, no dressing and they had taken the graft from in front of his ear.....just a row of neat stitches there. I told him he had had a free facelift at the same time, which made him chuckle. I was a bit alarmed when I saw the hospital paperwork as MIL had said it wasn't a nasty tumour and it was. We decided it was best not to tell and worry them and just keep an eye on it ourselves in future. He doesn't have to have any further treatment.

How lovely to nip off to the coast like that Mandy. I bet the Snowdrops and Celandines were pretty too. Crown it all with F&C.....smashing!! Roasts are messy with tins aren't they and the dishwasher never gets it all off without some help.:-(

Mel, I was reading today that they are calling for peals of bells from as many churches as possible for the Jubilee celebrations........will your OH be ringing do you think? Yeah.....the 60s were 'cool'.

Maureen, that is a lot of pages in your latest book. I find tiny writing a bit offputting at times. I have just remembered that as a child I would be quite disappointed if a book had no pictures in it!! lol

It sounds like a good night's sleep did you good Frank, but make sure you are better before you even think of mowing the lawn. Ros doesn't need asking twice does she!!! lol :-D

William, you are right about poor Lady Godiva! It is a right mess where she is. I have never been keen on Coventry's ring road as I just think I am in the right lane, then you have to shoot off to the R or L and when you've done that it happens again after a few yards or so it seems!! I imagine the Cathedral lanes shopping centre isn't all that old as I don't remember seeing it last time I went. There were other new stores since I last went too, Pr*mark and the very new Ik*a. I must look up where the very old part of the city is......it looked good from a bit of film I saw on TV a while back.

Kim, I imagine your electrical storms would be very scary and worse than ours.

Jane, shame about Hannah's new flat after the last one was so good. Still, she can improve some things with changes........is it near her old flat or nearer to work?

Jane

Jane Report 19 Feb 2012 19:33

Mel ,Hannah moving flats was because the Landlord of the one she was in was moving his daughter in.So she has moved with the girl she was sharing with.(nothing to to with boyfriends) lol.I can't wait to meet her new 'Beau'.He sounds lovely. She has been seeing him for some months now and it is all looking good.I will meet him on the 10th March when it is Hannah's birthday .
Frank she had to pay £1,800 deposit and one months rent in advance.Guess who had to help with that one????? She should be getting the deposit back from the last flat soon and repaying Dad :-D :-D
Mel I will give Janice your Love.I will speak to her tomorrow.

I think dinner is ready now.........and Frank you are not a boring old Fa**

Evening All
Was at church this morning, and had a few jobs around the house, so decided not to put the computer on till later or I would never have finished my work.
Family all gone home and I've cleared away all the dishes

OH took me up to Mata*an yesterday, and I did very well in the sales got 3 jumpers which were down to £5 each, 2 long tops for going over jeans. and 2 short sleeve jumpers at £6 each , so I was very happy.

Off to put the kettle on.
