Thanks, I'll try that tip with the coin next time Maureen.....it was lucky I had another pound coin on me! I've phoned the car park people now and they have sent my name and address to the council to get a refund. I thought they might fob me off as I have no proof, but they didn't quibble about it at all.

I'm not the only one that hates the Coventry ring road then!! lol Even OH isn't keen. I have been known to go ALL the way around it and I dread to think what it would be like in fog! If I try to drive into the centre, sometimes I seem to end up on the ring road again. I like the name Kamikazi ring road.William :-D OH chuckled at your comment about keeping your eyes shut! What a pity your post disappeared.

Lunch out again Jane! Still, Fitz can't let those vouchers go to waste and it's nice to get a bargain. Lyddington is one of those pretty ironstone villages and the Bede House is a nice old building, but you have probably been before and know this! It was on my 'patch' as an Inspector years ago, I remember the Marquis of Exeter pub there. Hope you have a nice time....... :-) I have just received one of those Tastecard things that you can get BOGOF meals with, so we are looking to try some new places where we haven't been with that.

Thanks for that kind offer Mel, but I have one now. I don't think I shall be wanting to make any more of the zip jewellery (not my thing!) so I don't think I will need any more of them......nice of you to think of that though.....I should have mentioned it sooner. I think I will use some chain for my zip necklace too.....it will look like a 'biker' necklace then! I'll see! ;-)

Better get a bite to eat now....

I seem to remember old zips in Mums sewing box. They were cut out of old things to be reused again. No waste back then :-D

Chris is late.He should have been in by now.Not a good sign.It might be a Mr Grumps if it has been a difficult surgery. He usually rings to say if he is going to be late.Could be a cheerful evening(NOT) :-|

Hi again folks,

Just to downmarket the menus, we had chips. and cold chicken. I enjoyed it anyway for a change. Pie and custard for 'afters'.

TV last night - well, I enjoyed Midwives, but I thought the blokes that wanted Sister Monica Joan strung up should have thought about the gifts she probably brought them in her career - their children!
For you ladies, my wife didn't rate U D either.
We watched the recorded D O I, and I think the skating/dancing is really notching up. Pity the French guy messed up, his performance was very good before that. Christine Bleakley seemed to have one of Katerina dresses on - SHE'D got the bike rack cleavage last night!!! We watch the whole show but I run on the ads and what we call 'the packing'.

Ann, I'll try and remember what I typed up earlier. Cathedral Lanes has been in Coventry some time, but they've taken the 'Arab's tent' from above Lady Godiva. But traffic-wise, you can understand why we go in on our bus passes now. I used to work at one time in Parkside, so in 5 minutes I could be in the city centre on good days. At the end of Much Park Street is the Herbert Museum, very interesting - as is the Motor Museum. Primark was Owen Owen at one time, then became Debenhams. We've one been in Primark once, that was enough.
Holy Trinity opposite Primark is worth a visit, and if you go from there behind the Lanes, you'll find the Tudor Golden Cross pub. Then round the corner from there, by the side of the old cathedral, St Mary's Hall is worth a visit if it's open.
The old mediaeval buildings were re-erected after the Blitz, in Spon Street, just along from Ik*a. You'll also St John's Church and Bablake school and Almshouses, old Tudor again.
Along Hertford Street there is a little alleyway, that will lead you through to the old Ford's Hospital almshouses, a beautiful building. Hope I haven't sounded like a tourist guide! We only go in about every 2 weeks or so, Ik*a does a great £1 full breakfast in the week up to 11am.

My wife used to work as an usherette in the Belgrade theatre for a long time as well. Those were very happy days for us both, I may have mentioned it before. She also worked in the old Coventry Theatre (Hippodrome) at one time.

I'll press post and hope it works this time.

William ,I think you have an eye for the lovely Katerina, and her cleavage lol.I must say I think she is pretty sexy and that is coming from a totally Heterosexual lady. There is just something about her.I think it might just be the accent lol
Must go and check dinner.I'm pretty hungry.

Hello so sorry I have had a mix up with photoes was looking at my mother with a caulinder on her head then one of me with my sister and brother still on I think I went do lally Said one was my mother and it was me..

Ha had a laugh today which was nice hubby having been so poorly.
Beryl spent the day with me and we watched a cd Calamity Jane we found out later it was on the telly aslo.

Well at about 5pm Donnie Beryls husband arrived in there car to take Beryl home and we were talking about Calamity Jane. I said Calamity was not her real name she was called Canary. Donnie said Oh from now on thats your name Bell. Beryl looked a bit puzzled and she said .Why is that my name you silly man shut up. Beryl then said I am not like Calamity Jane at all stupid . Donnie laughed and said no but canary your an old bird fitting dont you think old girl.

Well I tried not to laugh but it did make me laugh but I managed to say Donnie thats not nice and suddenly she picked up a handbroom I had left on the chair used for removing my little dogs hairs and she hit Donnie with it several times. But what made me giggle was Donnie is very tall and Beryl stood on the sewing box I use which also is a seat to hit him on the head. He suddenly grabbed her round the waist and being little and frail he carried her outside and stuck Beryl in the wheelbarrow which I am ashamed to say I had not emptied of some leaves and rubbish I had moved out of the garden and the barrow was full of rain water and did not smell very nice. It had been freezing cold and I could not get out and it just rained and rained.

Donnie went in the house and I was left to remove my soggy bottomed friend from the barrow. I have had to put her up tonight she wont speak to Donnie now and he left saying he was going home to have a beer .She had a hot bath .

I managed to calm Beryl down and she did an hour in the shop with me and did not say a word . I think she was not happy about her dunking and was silent for the first time for ages.

Jessie and family are settling down now in the States I have my job back at the hospice shop . I was very sad and fed up close to tears somedays I am a very emotional type of person. Wanted a bit of peace and time to myself and now find I have too much the house is like a morgue.

I wish Annie would come back my other friend but shes left Africa and now gone to some farm to look after her mates animals while they are away.
Kim so sorry not up to date with the threads I did read you had very bad weather. How are you.

Gosh Ann wish I had known you wanted zips I went to a work box I had
and counted 55 zips in all colours that I had removed over the years my friend Annie does dressmaking when shes not on some
adventure doing good somewhere and I used to take them out of
dresses and skirts and everything and never used them.

The lunch with Fritz sounded very nice Jane .

I watched a documentory about a plane that flew from Birmingham to Spain and the window blew out and the pilot ended up outside the plane
stretched across it .The co pilot took over and landed the plane safely at Southampton in twenty five minutes and the pilot lived. it was engineer error .It seemed that the wrong screws had been put in some years before and the engineer replaced them with the same ones even though the engineering shop man said they were the wrong ones they had not been used for years and then the engineer put the same ones back but it was dark and he did not screw them in properly and so the window blew out. The poor passengers what a shock. Could not believe that the pilot lived. He could not breathe but turned on his side and then could. But they thought he had froze to death. the flight attendant held the pilot by his feet
I think he was pretty shocked. he did not fly again.

My brother did national service i think in 1954 when eighteen he hated the apple pie beds the chaps made him when in the billet and painting grass white amongst other things.

Well will go and get warm it is chilly in my computor room. nite all the best to everyone.

It wasn't Katerina's eyes I was thinking about Jane LOL. Joking apart, I had to laugh last night when SHE wanted an interpreter because of what the celebrity said, I think he's out of one of the soaps. Sometimes there are people on the radio and OH & I can't understand them. We then say pity we haven't got sub titles for the radio.
Mind you, we watched that Dancing for Sport Aid (which was pretty naff really) - but Jessie J was on there. I said to Carmel, that girl is really sexy and she is hardly showing any flesh at all in that catsuit (??). Just goes to shows (no pun intended), it's not what you show - it's what you DON'T show!!

Nite nite all

Morning Mel
Morning Jane

Suns out inbetween showers and I have opened bedroom window to get some ventilation,
Its milder here today as well I feel,
only thing is when the sun comes out the dust shows up, didn't realise how much there was on the shelves and dressing table, better get going with the polish & duster.

Pat, there's still a fair amount to do inside the porch like plumbing and some woodwork, radiator to put in plus all the painting and furniture etc,
OH thinking about getting a plumber in to do the pipe work and insilation of the sink as there's just not enough hours in the day, he is taking next week of work as a holiday, so he can't get stuck in, I get frustrated as the jobs to be done I can not really help him apart being the runner for this and that,

Morning to all,

Another dull day here, with a bit of wind. Haven't been out, so don't know if it's warm or cold !!!!

Still got a very stuffy head, and blowing the "conk"a lot, Ros bought two more box's of tissues on Sunday. half way down one already. Was awake a 5 am coughing. Feel like a "KIP" now. !!!

Just had a message from Genes, I bought 100 credits a few weeks ago, and haven't used them. They expire on 23rd, so had better get my fingure out and use them.

Jane will now be off to lunch now, I use to go out that way when I lived in Kettering. There are some lovely villages around. ENJOY your lunch.

Hello all, will catch up tomorrow. Not feeling too good, shower has exhausted me.

Noticed a few more on the sick list too. Get well Frank, Mel and Pat. Glad Mocha is doing better, good luck with the new fish too.

Beryl in the wheelbarrow - LOL - Sheila did you get a photo? No wouldn't have been the right moment!!!! Would love to have seen it all unfolding though.

Heavy rain last night and more tonight without the thunder and lightening. Good for the garden and water supplies. Yes Shirl, simple solutions are definitely too hard for our government here. They delight in major cock-ups that are sending the country to the wall - just like other places around the world. We had one of your pollies on Q & A last night - not sure if in opposition or government (England not Canada). He made a refreshing change from our lot and had great ideas. Dan ?(someone). He was very interesting!!!

Ann, I have mum's old sewing box and lots of metal zips in there. So sturdy as you said, not like the nylon ones. Hope your FIL's nose heals soon, he's having a rough time.

Maureen how is Alfie doing?

Fiona could someone send a pic of your new porch to me? Have heard so much about it.

Off to the couch to watch Alcatraz. Take care all. 10.57 pm DST pm

P.S. Mozzies are so bad at the moment and the snakes and spiders are on the move too with all this rain :-0

Thanks :-D :-D

Frank

Frank Report 21 Feb 2012 15:42

Have sent it on Fiona, your word is my command !!!!

Have used 70 credits on genes, looked up no end of my family,Mum and Dad, Brothers and sister marriages. The eldest Three got married in 1942. I thought it was 1947. !!!

Denise, will you let me have your e-mail address by P.M.. I will then be able to send you all the others seem to enjoy them so you might also. That's ot course if you would like them ????

Is our Jane back home yet.??? all full up, and feeling rosey from the wine. !!!

Was cleaning my glass's earlier and pushed the lens out, what a job getting it back. Not sure if it's right or not. Will have to get the others out, and have these checked.

Ros is in charge of the kitchen today. Leek pie for dinner tonight, with pancakes for "afters" with sugar and lemon. I don't go for all these fancy fillings.

Think I will get a Chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow. With a selection
of Veg, with Roast pots etc. Whats left over will do for a Curry on Thursday

. Then we are back to Friday again. Where do the weeks go, as Mel said. I notice it by my tablet box's. Ros does a months supply at a time, I can't believe how quickly they seem to dissapear. Or is it just old age creeping up on us. !!!! :-D :-D :-D It's allright for you youngsters <3 <3 <3.

Kim, I do hope you are feeling better after a good nights rest. You must take it easy, and don't over ecert yourself.

Trust little Mocha is settling down to a routine now, and not leaving little presents around. :-0 :-0 :-0
