Hi Wattlers, OK fess up - whose mum followed that cr*p back in 1955 - mine didn't so there was never any hope for me. And if I've slaved over getting his meal ready and he doesn't come home at all am I sposed to just let it go and not say something - ohhh pulese Won't get on my soap box about the education system as I am constantly on about it at work - have had some doozy of arguments too. I have been critical of the education system since I left HS learning a load of rubbish that I have never needed again - nothing has changed - there aren't enough teachers to teach the alternative subjects so unless they get in quick they are relegated to subjects no-one else wanted to do. All round the world we need more tradies because some idiot decided Uni was the way to go - who remembers one Oz PM who said we needed to be 'the clever country'. Anna - thinking of the family of the young lad. Vonny - have a great weekend - enjoy the new toy!!! Tassie - all the best for Tamika - hope she's feeling better too. Nice to see Trifley & Fluffy back (((((hugs))))) for you both. Better go get some food and settle down for Midsomer. Enjoy your evening folks~~~~~~~~~~~ Gwenda

lol.....We have a Stowaway living under the house, and he/she is doing it rent free......cheeky devil. Was lying in bed last night, and could hear... thump..thump, coming from under the house.Forgot about it this morning, and was going to investigate said Thumping........ Just been out with the torch to check underneath, and a little fox is curled up avin a kip. They are common where we are, and are coming up out of the Creeks and bush area around Warrandyte. Ever since the Freeway was started, and now with them extending through to Dandenong, we are seeing more and more. Also, been seeing a few Wallaby's jumping around late at night in the built up suburbs of outer Melbourne. Tony Oz...:>))

Hi Everyone!!! I Guess you all thought i had disappeared into the wide blue yonnder never to be seen or heard of again, but immmmm back!!! I have been looking in occasionally, just not adding, thanks everyone for the emails, makes me feel a bit in touch with the wattle news. I have missed catching up and hope to get more time soon. I havn't even been able to do any family tree stuff for soooo long. OH and i have been very busy working all the hours we can and when not doing that, heading out to the farm to try to catch up out there. We have managed to make a bit of hay this year, not much, but enough to cover the costs. The rest of the crop looks a bit sad, but thats farming in drought conditions. Hugs to all who need one (and who doesn't). Take Care, Wilson

Hi Wilson. Yea'h....... its only a cub, and will let it stay for awhile, as long as it keeps its thumping down at night. Thought i had been seeing a few dead pigeons around the house lately, thought it might have been cats...lol The land up your way must be as dry as dead Dingo's donga mate. Not a good season for our farmers..... can only pray for rain. Best wishes. Tony Oz..:>))

Flakey, Jood, what numbers? I think I'm missing summat! Nice speech, Tony, and mostly in English English too. And I know what a 'coldie' is, thanks to my Aussie dictionary. So sorry to hear about the poor lad who comitted suicide, Anna. The pressure is just the same over here, and it's all to do with targets. It seems the schools are competing to get as many kids as possible into uni, regardless of their aptitudes or wishes. Waggy

Yes Tony You could say it is that dry lol. This year won't be as bad as last for us, but that is just lucky. Last year was not good. We don't have stock, so at least don't have to worry about trying to feed them. I feel sorry for the farmers who have to get rid of there breeding stock. Wilson

Evening Wattlers Gwenda yes Tamika is a lot better today and she enjoyed her first day at work, she was on the registers and said it was really busy and she had a bit of trouble learning the codes but all in all she liked it. I dont know so much if my Mum lived by the 1955 housewife, but she done more than some will do. My Dad used to work early hours of the morning from 2.30 til about 9.30 delivering newspapers from Launceston to Burnie. so when the alarm went off to wake Dad, Mum would get up and make him a cuppa and a snack, sit up with him til he had finished and gave him a kiss when he left then she would go back to bed. We never did any housework as Mum cooked, washed up, cleaned our room, washed and ironed our clothes, gee why did I ever leave home???????? Well I have prodical son staying a couple of days at my place, things had blown up again with girlfriend/partner, so they have split, hopefully for good, I know that sounds mean but if they are going to fight all the time they are better off apart, he came here and asked to use the phone to ring Anglicare to see about anger management so hopefully he is starting to wake up to himself, I also told him to ask them if they can help with emergency accomodation to get him a place of his own and to be by himself for a while to sort himself out. ~~~~~ to all~~~~~ Cheers Sue

I really dont know what you lot are talking about. I thought that item in the magazine was how we looked after our Husbands nowadays. I do, and amazed that you lot dont seem to agree.. I give him breakfast in bed every day and find his glasses for him and get his meals and do his washing and ironing and everything else mentioned in the magazine..I thought that was what a wife did for her husband. pmsl... OKOK I tell a lie...but I bet you lot thought I was fair dinkum.. Tony OH a fox.. they are so cute but dont tell the farmers you have one.. Didnt get my martoonie tonight,,OH said he preferred to have white wine, knowing me I drink anything so will save it for tomorrow.. Wilson The crops looked so sad when we drove through Vic. last week. Friends of ours have a farm at Murphys Creek and they are really struggling. I wander if the headers can get down low enough to harvest the crop. Had a lovely lazy day and started searching for OH side of the family..I am lucky as part of it has been done by a cousin so I have help. Well I think it is time to hit the hay so see ya in the morning Love Mary xxxx

Thats nice Tony, that you have a little critter under your house! Foxes are lovely to look at, I saw one standing on the outside of the shadows from our fire out in the bush one night. .. Cat (laughing at you) I don't know what it is, I can't help myself - to check the numbers when you come on!! .. lol Think I'll take an early mark (to bed) Jood

Waggy - its just a silly joke we have (the numbers) - if you go to the front of the general page, and look for Wattlers, you will see we have (at this very moment) 15962 messages, and when it gets up to 15995, things get very tense as we keep writing msgs to claim the 16000 or 15900. .. Stupid I know, just a game. .. But Cat hides and claims the numbers when we aren't looking !!! lol You are doing well with your aussie interpretations !! Jood
