Coming up Ginns and freshly cooked too, especially for you <3

We have had the day off today - no lovely grandchildren ! It has been SO quiet !!

One sad thing I noticed is that over the past 3 (VERY long) days that we have had them, they have amused themselves beautifully - playing together and filling the house with giggles and squeales, playing charades, building dens, doing jigsaws, getting muddy in the garden and playing on the slides and swings, playing games with us, printing party invites etc. from the computer and generally interacting with each other and having FUN.

We have LOTS of toys and games for them but nothing like what they have at home - just 'simple stuff'.

When they get home they have all the things that most children nowadays have - i.e. Wii's, Huggles, etc etc and when they go home they play differently - each settling on one or other of the electronic 'thingies' (sorry, I don't know what they all are or what they all do or how to spell them ).

There is a lot to be said for going back to 'the olden times' and creating your own amusements................

Anyway, it is nice to have a few days off but I am not tempted to buy all those gadgets for this house, even for a 'quiet life' !!!

Yum yum.......thank you Dea

It sounds like the kids have a ball at your house, there's not a nicer sound, than hearing kids playing :-)

The one that REALLY gets me Gins is hearing them all singing in a school concert - it always brings tears to my eyes - I don't know why !!

Hello Everyone :-)

I finally made it on today I did manage to grab some of that lovely food but it was a very quick visit :-D

We had the girls today while Mummy went to the hairdressers.

We made a tent in the dining room .

They dressed up changing a few times from princesses to fairies to witches.

They took Grampa out to the hut to choose some toys (as if we don't have enough inside)

they ended up playing with the Fisher Price School house and circus Train

Then they did some jigsaws.

We took them to visit their GGran (MIL) and she was on good form.

We did cheat SIL went to see how she was and phoned us to say it was ok to take girls as she was having a good day.

We had a nice visit and the girls were really good . We had baked chocolate brownies and they took some for her.

Then we dropped the girls home and we did the food shop or at least most of it.

We got home at 7pm . The house is still a tip toys everywhere but they can wait until tomorrow.

We have a day off on Monday but we have the girls on Wednesday.

Linds, my PM's are all over the place, says I have unread ones and ones that have been read :-|

Anyway, I have read your PM, glad you are on the mend :-D

Me and JB went to buy a new mattress yesterday, the price of them :-0 Some were 2.5K!

We ended up getting one, not at the top end though, £360 plus free mattress protector. I think we paid a lot more for our current on in 2009 but it needs replacing...memory foam, PANTS

Got a natural one, filled with cotton & silk

Dea

Dea Report 5 Apr 2015 17:34

I am sorry but £2.5k for a matress !!!!!

You could feed the starving millions for that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you bought a sensible one Ginns and hope you and JB will be very happy on it ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D

A wonderful warm spring day we decided to visit the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, on arrival we were turned away, it was full.

So, Wentworth Castle is just down the road and we have never been before so off we go>>>>>>>>>>>

Arrived to find there is NO castle, just grounds which resemble woodland! Thought we would grab a bite to eat from the shoe box size café. Stands in line waiting to be served and when we finally got to the front we were told there is a 40-60 minute wait.......FOR A SARNI

Went for a walk around the 'gardens' and came upon a glass house filled with plants. The beautiful flowers in the entrance were SILK!

The most interesting part of the visit was an elderly couple fighting 'out loud', she thumped him and he was about to thump her back when he realised where they were!

Got back home to find a note through the door from a neighbour asking us to cut back the hedge that is encroaching onto her garden........

It's HER hedge on HER land

I need to sit quietly for a while>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
