Hello ladies,

Have been busy the past few days. I am going through all the in-laws photos 60+ years of them all stuffed in carrier bags.

Spent days sorting them into piles. SIL came over last week and put names to some of the ones we didn't know.

we then spent hours copying the ones we wanted and writing on the back of them.

I have bought 3 albums one for them and one each for us. They are the old fashioned ones like a wedding album with the tissue paper.

Have also got the little corner tabs to use and have spent the weekend getting in-laws one done . OH is doing his one.

Its taking forever but am pleased that we are dong it cant wait to show them it.

Have found some wonderful gems. One of OH's GGrandad holding FIL its in two bits but can still make it out.

Also found his uncles de-mob papers and FIL's ID card and a couple of cards sent to MIL by her brother in WW2
Today our Toots found OH's uncles POW record.

So hope I am excused as been a tad busy :-D

Yes - I bought a new iron so can get the rest finished now.

It was very strange - I bought it from Tesco and I do that 'scan it yourself' thingy and when I got to the pay area I said to the girl - could you do my wine (they have to authorise it to say I am old enough to buy it) - anyway she said that she aught to do my iron as well as 'you don't want to set the alarms off on the way out - do you' ??

I said that no I didn't as I would be mortified.

She checked through the box and said that there wasn't a tag in there so I was O.K.

Got home and opened up the box and there was this big black tag thing hiding at the bottom :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Goodness knows how I got out without setting all the alarms off :-S

I have had that happen the alarm didn't go off when we left the store

It went off when we went into another store :-)

You've been busy Linds, you must have a ton of photos, lucky thing

We went to see one of my family in the CWWG site. We put a beautiful white rose in the ground for him, representing the 'White Rose of Yorkshire'

All went well on the journey home, we had an Italian comedian for taxi driver to the airport, he was hilarious!

Well, back to normal and back to work tomorrow

Got on the plane at 7.40pm (local time) temp 27c and got off at 10.15pm our time temp, freezeo!

Had a jumper in hand luggage but we parked only 2 minutes from departures so couldn't be bothered and walked to the car in t shirts.

Got home to milk and bread left by one of our neighbours, put the heater on then went to bed about 12.30am, got up at 7.00am!

Could just eat one of your lovely breakfasts Dea

Dea I have been promising myself that I would get the photos sorted for years.

We started with in-laws so they could tell us who everyone is. :-)

I sat last night and looked through 3 bags of my lot. These are ones that I have been given by relatives.

I still haven't looked at my parents lot yet.

Now the problem (albeit a good one) is that I need to get ALL the photos looked at together in order to organise them.

That is going to be a massive task and it will take a long time to sort through.

I found one of my godmother last night. She died giving birth to my cousin her first child.
You may remember that I searched for him and found him a couple of years ago?

He doesn't have a lot of photos of her so I will be sending it to him.

I have promised to share what I have when I sort them out but think he might like this one just now.

I am sure that will mean a lot to him Linds - How lovely !!!

This afternoon tea is very lovely too - just what I need to cheer me up on this nasty dark wet day and I have to go and get the grandchildren from school soon so I will get soaked :-(

Well.............rather than using tinned toms I am making a pasta sauce from fresh toms

What a pain in the @@@, peel toms first etc......

Smells good though :-)
