Happy birthdays to Gins son and Fans grandson x

Phoned bank screamed and hollered and a few choice swear words at this poor scottish bird who more or less said tough sh**e I should of read the terms and conditions (do they expect me to understand those). I then said I was not happy with this threw in the disabled and pension bit and asked to speak to someone else.

I then speak to a scottish man scream at him about not being told that my money was sitting there earning nothing he is now calculating what I would have got at the interest when I opened the account 2 yearsago, which is still not as good as I could have got elsewhere but at least I got somewhere.

Right best look for another account now, Its not staying in that bank

I am sure his parents would be deilighted to let you take him for an Italian tonight Gins, but how does he get from Glastonbury to Sheffield by tricycle in time???

Keep at em Ja...x but slow down on the choice words as that can cause hackles to rise and maybe get you up before the beak if recorded....!

jax Report 18 Apr 2011 12:35

I dont think I used the real swear words but she would know what I meant.

32 years never been overdrawn had two mortgages with them worked for them for 13 years, I must be a good customer. As long as they dont take husbands record into it and going bankrupt, I should be ok.

HID worked out a price for this kitchen using the same layout as we have got with appliances thrown in,may have had to pay for the range....17k the commision on that would be 2 months wages.
I said do two of those then you can have 4 months off again. It would have looked nice everything hidden behind black shiney doors

Happy birthday to both aforementioned folk!

What's it like having a 30year old grandson Fans....did you make it to the postbox to post his card?

I echo ..... £17,000??????....................cor, I thought we were in a recession! It's a bit like those adverts on telly where the kitchens and bedrooms are massive. We often say we could get our whole house in some of those kitchens. As it is, we couldn't swing a cat in ours without bashing it's brains in on something! Pre-retirment we had a house with 14 rooms, many of them large............downsizing has been a definite bonus in many ways.

Went to Homebase this morning....I think OH thought we were looking at plants....well we did, but after I dragged him to look at wallpaper.....lol

Am I right in thinking that the GRO don't do part refunds for wrong certs these days??

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 18 Apr 2011 13:18

You are correct in the no refund if you sent for it with ref numbers......It will arrive right or wrong BUT

If you send for it without ref numbers and state a parents name they will search either side of the year given and only send it if it has correct parents name on...Full refund if not found...

I nearly had kittens when I thought we might have to spend 17 HUNDRED pounds on kitchen cupboards and worktops as we didnt have any when we moved in here, just one plywood homemade cupboard c1960 with stickyback plastic on the top for a work surface ,let alone 17 THOUSAND.....

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 18 Apr 2011 13:20

Forgat to add that if you send for certs without the ref no then it can take up to 3 weeks to arrive...Still waiting on one sent for over 2 weeks ago....Wish I had applied to reg office for it now...

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 18 Apr 2011 13:43

Am I daft then? - I know what you will say...... but, I couldn't see anywhere to put a name like we used to.....????

I think you had better sit down with a wet flannel on your head Fans. The shock of that amount of money hasn't done you any good at all! I have an OH like that...........he can never believe the price of things.......must get him out more!

jax

jax Report 18 Apr 2011 13:55

I would'nt say my kitchen is big as in the ads on the TV. 3 double base units one of those has the sink in it and two double wall units. There would be an extra two double units if I had fridge, freezer, wash machine and dishwasher and the range style cooker in between.

When HID went to this meeting and spoke to someone who got a bonus for the most sales the kitchens he sold amounted to about 8k each....so what did they get for that? unless it was their half price range?

Bank man rang me back got my interest still not as much as I thought, but better than £32 and he has given me £50 to cover phone calls and not telling me that my money was sitting there doing nothing...then I asked where my debit card was as they cancelled last one due to fraud.
That had not been ordered aghhhh....so another £40 for that inconvenience.

Now I am on first name terms and had a lovely chat and I have his direct number if I have anymore probs

Well done Ja...x,you found a human on the end of the line for once....

Cynthia...Dumbo...
Where it asks if the GRO ref numbers are known tick the no box and you will get a form come up that will allow you to order with a parents name...Whaich reg area is it?
Try calling them if its not a big reg office?
Many are really helpful and get back very quickly...EXCEPT Carmarthen of course...Which now holds Llanelli records as well to make it even worse............

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 18 Apr 2011 14:32

Ooooh. Got my FULL name.......Dumbo!

Thank you for that info. It is the GRO. Will endeavour to retain that valuable piece of information.
