Our Fans sounds a cheery soul doesn't she.....??? Wonder what's bitten her today - apart from the rain of course! Mind you, she's at that funny age you know! ;-)

Forgot to say yesterday that my son showed us the new prospectus for the school my grandchildren attend. It gives all the details as usual and is illustrated with a few photographs of current pupils. Both of my grandchildren were asked to pose for photos and there are three super photos of them. .I'm so proud of them both. :-D

Phone call recieved from friends today that were supposed to be visiting this evening...
He was putting on clean "under trouser "garment this morning which had been airing on clothes horse in conservatory over night and there was a wasp in it that he did not see..
Hmmmmmmm, bet that hurt and still hurts,he cant sit down anyway and it has made him rather poorly .....
Ho hum...Lesson to people to check inside things for nasty surprises first I guess.

Had a wasp sting on rather tender personal part meself some years back when sitting down on chair in a shortish skirt and did not see the bl&&dy thing on chair that managed to make it all the way up skirt..
I didnt sit down" proper like" for 3 days and it makes that bit swell a bit..!

Byeeeee~~~~~~~~

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 5 Oct 2011 21:49

Didn't know you could sit down 'proper like' to start with Fans :-P

Good job you ain't able to wear short skirts any more............... :-D

Now debating wether to sit and see the end of The Lost World dvd or take a book to bed....hmmmm.....decisions, decisions.

The lengths that people go to and the excuses that they come up with just to avoid being visited by Fan are amazing. ;-)

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 5 Oct 2011 22:16

I agree Jonesey. I mean, when did you last see a wasp? I ain't seen one for ages!!

Maybe tomorrow the wasp chappie will find a bee in his bonnet!

Night all~~~~~~~~~

Thank you R and after watching that .. makes one glad I am not an Aussie, no wonder my dad hated having OZ as his birthplace... he came to NZ when he was 18 months.... sorri Gracie but if you watch that you would want to claim to be born elsewhere as well.

Fans... thanks for sharing your wasp story... :-(

I had one awhile back on my upper leg ... stung me through my jeans... whilst I was standing up trying to get my jeans off and ice onto my leg, my OH took a big bite out of my delicious melting moment. The ice quickly turned to water and the swelling did not go down and it was very red.. so next day I went to A & E clinic and the Israeli Doctor kindly drew dart board circles on my leg.. and to notify if the red and swelling and epicentre circles changed

The reason I am telling this is I wondered whether you had to go to the doctor and have a dartboard drawn on your area where you were stung?
;-)

Dea,

You will have to bottle or freeze your tomatoes after making them into a pasta sauce....

We are having spaghetti marinara tonight and I make a sauce with tinned tomatoes .. the seafood will be mussels.

Persie...

Hi all,

Persie I honestly don't know any Australians that dress up like that.. :-( I don't mind being an Australian, there are worse things to be I am sure, depends if people believe stereotypes and dub us all with the same brush. I happy enough to be an Aussie, can't do much else about it anyway!

:-)

Ouch about the wasp, I am lucky enough not to have been stung by anything other than bitten by a spider on my back that's it....

Dea if you freeze your pasta sauce, add the herbs when you rae reheating it. Sometimes they can taste funny after being frozen, so better to make the suace and then add fresh or dried. :-)

Thank you Persie and Grace for your suggestions to make pasta sauce - I will do just that!

Good tip about the herbs Grace :-D

I have a LOT so I will also make a large pot of lovely creamy soup!

With all this going into the freezer, I think I may need to buy a larger one :-D

Yippeeeee I can hopefully make it to breakfast tomorrow! My last 'up and out' morning today so I can stay in bed till 7.30am!

The breakfasts provided on here are out of this world!

It's been really blustery here and I think I saw hailstones this afternoon. Brrrrr

This morning I diligently sat through talks on Data Protection issues, Health and Safety, Infection Control and Fire drills. I am now qualified to sit at a volunteers helpdesk and tell people where to go! All with a smile on my face.... :-D
