My OH is from NZ... but he worked as a truckie in the UK when he did his OE and he can usually pick where people are from by their accents.. and 8 times out of 10 he has been to the place they are from.

He even drove his truck into the back stairs of a double decker bus.. it was in a layby and he had no where to go because of something coming the other way... He was traveling through Scotland at the time. The case came up before the procurator fiscal.. but he was only fined a few quid since he was from NZ and not England.

LOVELY breakfast Persie,

I will have (for my starter) - Creamy garlic mushrooms on toasted ciabatta.

Then the "Full English breakfast" please.

I'm glad I didn't have to cook today - have to get ready early for grandson's arrival!

See you all later,

It's Friday!!!!!!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay. In time for brekkie! Oooooh......full English I think please Persie. Thank you very, very much.

I am, however, slightly worried by the fact that Gins is suggesting running her finger over someone's yukky teeth?????? Strange woman she is!

As for dialects, I am so glad no-one has mentioned those two Wigan delicacies..........Prater Pie and Babbiesyed with peawet.

It's a little too early in the morning for a translation ;-)

Morning LK ~~~~~~~~

Oh - I just LOVE Lancashire Hotpot Cynthia !!!

A clue for anyone who is not from 'up North' - you would have to go to the local 'chippie' for the other one :-D :-D

Glad you have been signed off.......back to normal now....whatever that is!

Where I sit, I look out of a side window facing up the road. My view for 7 years has been a eucalyptus tree in next door but one's garden. Today it was cut down.......it's quite strange having a clear view.

It is the Welsh versus the Irish this evening.... your breakfast time so you will all have to bring a plate...

Kick off I believe is at 6am British time...

I have made some potato & leek soup. spuds for all the Murphys and leeks for all the Welsh... do not want to show favouritism.

There is Irish soda bread and Welsh cakes to go with it..
