Ive always called it French Toast but know that some call it eggy bread (JB does)

We had it last time about a year ago...............it doesnt go as crispy with olive oil (we only use that and rapeseed) though, still good though

Dad used to cook us porridge for breakfast, with golden syrup poured on top.....mom only cooked dinner at about 6pm

French toast - yes please. Fried bread - yes please. Crispy bacon - yes please. :-D :-D :-D

I could just eat all that now but it's a bit late at night... :-(

Hi Gracie, isn't that just typical timing?? Could someone else drive you perhaps? Hope it all works out and try not to get stressed or you will send your blood pressure up.....

Night all - it's hard work being a stripper..... ;-)

Hi sylv,

Not sure what to do as I don't want to tell my neices etc otherwise they will all worry and there is just so much going on with hen's nights, kitchen teas, birthdays etc! It is such a busy time.

Not sure how long I will be in for, they told me it depends on what they find when they "have a proper look on the inside" :-( :-( not looking forward to it though!

Hi guys,

Just on operation..if this is too much info and someone gets offended I guess they can RR it., sorry if they do..I have been getting really bad pains in my right ovary for the last eight months or so..so the surgeon decided that they would like to have a look and see if it is caused by scar tissue from a previous operation that has formed between the uterus and ovary and that keeps ripping away, or by something else

I am sure men get off easier sometimes ! :-)

Gracie

don't see why anyone should object!

will they do it as a lapariscopy or a an incision?

The former is a little bit less uncomfortable.

I'm sure men do get off easier!

In 1999 I had a lapariscopy to have gall bladder removed. It was just a day surgery and it took only about 3 weeks to be back to almost 100%. As I recall just a bit uncomfortable not much pain.

For the past 3 years I have volunteered, at the local hospital, as a "patient" for 1st and 2nd year medical students. At the end of the first year and then the second they do physical assessments and most (even the tutor doctors) can't see the 4 tiny scars.

Hi Sylvia,

They said they would start with the first and then go on to the next!

Never mind, am a bit annoyed because yesterday I booked tickets for myself, OH and his parents to go and see the big Egyptian exhibit on at our sttae museum and then we were taking them out to lunch..of course not knowing the letter was waiting for me, I had booked the tickets for the day after the op. I am trying to convince OH I will be right to go as I really really wanted to see it but had to wait for his dad to get over a hip replacement.

I also want to know what a Twixt sandwich .

Sounds like it is between a scone and a biscuit or bun and a scroll... neither one thing nor the other...

I am betwixt and bewildered :-S

Gracie:;; I have been up in the Dandenongs, I have a lovely square plate (goes on the wall) from an antique place in Sassafras... and I have a friend works south of there in Dandenong as a family lawyer (makes me laugh really when we were at high school together she was definitely not a swot, in fact she hardly paid attention) she lives down at Frankton. I love Victoria and Tassie..

Operations are the pits... I gained a scar from one op, then they used that as gaining entry for another operation six years later and then the third time four years after that and the last surgeon said I should have had a zip installed. ;-)

Hmm I have recently purchased a large jar of Branston Pickle... so will try out what Lainie has been talking about... though it does sound strange. :-0

Cheers Persie

I had one of those lapaoscopy things years ago when I was getting really bad pains in the first couple of days of my monthly cycle...they never found anything. We moved to the pub and was dreading it happening, when I knew we were going to be busy.

We got burgled after being there two days and my problems stopped :-)

Hope it all goes ok Grace <3

One thought for you

......... most museums have wheelchairs for visitors to borrow.

They might not be the most comfortable thing out .......... but it would allow you to see the exhibit.

OH persuaded me to try one about 3 years ago when we wanted to see the new War Museum in Ottawa ................ the building had rave reviews for its architecture, and the way they had planned displays. My back was really playing up, and I don't go there often enough to know when I might have a second chance

I was so glad that I gave in to his persuasion ............... and he said that he found it one of the best visits to a museum he'd had, because we moved more slowly than usual!

An added bonus for you is that littlie could ride on your knee, if she is going with you that is!

In my case ......... a push wheelchair was free to borrow (although OH had to leave a credit card in case we ran off with the chair :-D ), or I could have had an electric one for a payment.

I haven't actually had a laparascopy ...... so I have scars all over.

But OH has had a couple of them.

It's incredible what they can do through a laparascopy ........... including removal of part of his colon!

I had my Gall bladder removed that way and have only one scar about half inch long in between the cups on where a bra sits

I just watched an animation of the surgery and there should be more scars?? and have always thought it was a strange place to take it out when the gallbladder is a lot lower down

Thanks all for your good wishes, Sylv I will raise the idea about the wheelchair..Gracie WOULD love that :-D

I have had one before years ago, then a big op and was in hosp 5 days, then I had an emergency ceaser with Gracie and I was a bit sick after that, then I had to have my appendix out, then back in again a month after that ..,.was a bit sick of going to hospitals to make withdrawals!

Although helpfully a nurse suggested to me that I couldn't really leave Gracie in the emergency rooms whilst I had my appendix out! As if I would..at 9 weeks of age :-S crikey I know I was sick but really!

LOL nah I am just over hospitals..I have contracted golden staph twice following operations and am scared of getting it again as it is just awful...

Persie you will have to come over, I know some really good little antique shops. I love the Dandenongs but would never live there because of the fire risk in Summer. Being at the bottom of them is close enough :-D

I like my wheelchair although very rarely used as I dont go out.

I wish HID would not keep putting it in the car because I like wheeling around the kitchen when I'm bored :-D
