I sometimes have a croque monsieur at a cafe in our village they are called Voila... and they do all sorts of crepes and other delightful goodies. There one has a lot of grated cheese on top of the toast as well which goes lubbly bubbly under the grill, and I make a stringy mess when eating it. Some others I have seen are not nearly as nice as theirs.

All exercised out... I finished before himself so I went on the treadmill and did a lap as well. He was feeling weary and zausted before he even got to class.

You'll be running marathons soon Pers!

Good morning all. I hope you are all in good 'shape' today!!!

Mind you, so many seem to be worn out with all the exercise they're doing. I find cleaning windows is enough for me.

Thank you for brekkie Sylvs.....not had potato cakes in a while! Love the throught of the chese thingeys. I'm the only one who can eat cheese in this house so I don't keep much in. :-(

OH's neck was a bit better but he still had to take painkillers. Will probably phone the Parky's nurse for some advice.... :-S

Gins.......wrap an old smelly sock round yer froat! Should cure anything.

Anyone remember when we used to have our chests rubbed with camphorated oil - worked wonders at clearing congestion!

Anyone see Jonesey lately? He's been v.quiet.

My mother had all of us wandering around with a piece of camphor in a little bag hanging around our necks.. I hated going to school with that on ... I smelt like I had just come out of moth balls.

Vicks was our camphorated greasy stuff that she would rub on my back and chest when I was small... Plus I had a spoon of malt every day (I actually liked that)

Jonesey Report 16 Nov 2011 09:18

Hi all,

Not been out playing much so far this week as the last few days have been a bit disrupted by family events. It started late on Sunday evening when my daughter phoned and asked the question, "Was my appendix amongst the bits they removed when I had my Kidney removed?" The answer was "No" and it transpired that she had been in great pain all day Sunday and she suspected that it might be appendicitis. Mrs J dashed off to see her and ended up taking her to hospital in the early hours. The hospital doctors confirmed that appendicitis was the most likely cause and an emergency operation followed. During surgery they discovered that it was actually a ruptured appendix and the operation took two and a half hours. We now wait to see whether any complications might develop, hopefully not.

As a result family life is a bit disjointed at the moment what with hospital visits, transporting my granddaughter and my great granddaughter to see their mum/nan and making sure that my daughters 2 dogs (one in pup) are looked after.

Hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly.

OOhhh Jonesey, that is so VERY serious! Thank goodnes that Mrs. J took her to hospital so quickly.

I do hope your daughter gets better soon with no further complications.

You take care now,

Dea Xxx <3

Hope she will be okay.. takes a little bit longer to recover.

My grandson (10) had his out earlier this year and his had ruptured and part of it was stuck to some abdominal wall and the operation took longer than was expected originally. It took him awhile for his temperature to go down but he recovered mobility wise by the end of the day after the op.

My younger daughter is going to have the old gall bladder operation on the 15th December... sort of bu**ered up her Christmas, but when you use the public system (private being too expensive) you have to take what you are given... she has been waiting since June.

Sending lots of love <3 <3 to dear Jonesey and his family. Hope all's well that ends well.

My dad and I had our appendixes (?) out within 6 months of each other. One would have thought it was contagious... :-D

Manic Wednesday....back later..~~~

Can anyone help me with an Ancestry problem please??

When you view a census image, there used to be a 'diddly thing' to click at the top which allowed you to drag on a magnifyer!! - I seem to have lost it :-( :-S

I can still zoom in and zoom out but I no longer seem to have a magnifyer.

Is it just me or have they taken it off???

Thanks,

Dea x

I did Ginns BUT the one I wanted to see would not zoom big enough !!! - It only goes up to 200% and that wasn't big enough !"!!

I will have to e-mail Ancestry !

Dea Xxx

Gee

Gee Report 16 Nov 2011 19:04

Dea

It only goes up to 200%

Are you thinking of when you save the record to your hard drive and then magnify?

Dea

Dea Report 16 Nov 2011 19:05

Anyway - apart from that , I have had a lovely day !!!!

Went to have my hair cut and my hairdresser commented that my hair had become REALLY thick !!!

I have always had very thick hair but one of the Meds I have to take has a side effect which can thin the hair and I didn't like it when it got so thin that I could see my scalp through it !!

However, I have recently been able to reduce the dose and my hair is now back to normal !!! :-D :-D :-D

Lovely day then !!

PLUS - I have just made the most GEORGEOUS Toad in the hole that I have ever made !!! - Full to bustin now !!! ;-) ;-) ;-)
