Thing is, youre right about needing some gigs but the worrying thing is that I dont look at the keys when I type

Maybe the answer is......get some gigs AND look at the key board!

Edit......or read it before I post ;-)

I am having probs with my eyes at the mo so borrowed a spare pare of HID's and could see better, so I think it will be a trip to the optition soon.

It is getting really boring on the boards in the early hours these days, tried to help on one last night but as she was only returning every couple of hours I have now lost interest....fed up of excuses why they cannot stay on the boards

Grace...is that you in the photo of three women that look like they are sitting in an office?

stoopid printers :-P

I was printing off some of the 100 Christmas letters we need.

It decided to go to sleep, and not work.

I tried several times ....... then tirned everything off, including the power.

Left it about 5 minutes, turned everything back on

......................and the printer started working

.................... churning out page after page of something i DID NOT WANT

BAH HUMBUG!

Talk about quick surgery... they went in early this am... 8.30am operation time and she was awake in recovery at 10.15am... She could go home tonight but didn't want to disrupt the household they (SIL & August) had already delivered her and then visited in afternoon. She was not impressed with her meals ... Sylvs I will help myself to yours for her.....

Geez when I had mine done I had to go a whole day before I got jelly and then another one before I got mince... and even then I had to insist to my surgeon that I was okay to feed.... public hospitals...eh!! when I had an op in private hosp they gave me club sandwiches and then asked me if I would like wine with my next meal... which was 3 courses.

Persie :-)

I look at the screen when I am typing not the keys... but I also watch the TV at the same time so if my hands move to far in any direction I get a load of gobbledegook but then Gins is like that so know she can read it....>>>>> ouch..

Jax I have computer glasses.. they make things fuzzy around the edges if I go out with them on... my others are bifocals... reading at the bottom and clear at the top... can see for miles without them after the cataracts were removed.

I hate it when the printer does that Sylvs... get a whole lot of what I don't want.. or when you only ask for pages 1 &2 from a googled site and you end up with 15 pages.

Gosh the day has gone quickly due to sleeping in...

Persie ;-)

Ooooh - I am glad she has had it done now and it is all over. - Hope she feels well soon <3

I am ALWAYS hungry when I have to go into hospital. The last time I was in, the nurses got used to me and used to bring me a second dinner if there was any left over and hubby brought me in delicious 'emergency sandwiches' :-) :-)

I'll just nick some toast thanks Sylv....

Whooping cough......thats what I might have had and still got. Two friends have got it and had all the same long lasting symptoms as I had

Still coughing but not as bad as the first four weeks.........I thought whooping cough died out out in the dark ages, when Cyns was a lass ;-)

Pers............ :-P

Persephone

Persephone Report 13 Dec 2011 09:12

You are a one Dea...

The woman opposite me had her spleen removed and her family would bring her in a feed of muscles and what they call a boil up which is pork bones and puha or water cress and vegs.

Daughter is happy and obviously bored... she has text us, rung us and there has been a whole lot of messages via her mobile on Facebook... good thing she works for a phone company.

My OH is on an Optifast diet... has 12 weeks of intensive diet.. quite difficult.. but it is all medically managed. No cheese, no meat, no milk just three sachets a day that are mixed with water or instead of a sachet he can have a small bar about the size of a Mars bar... two cups of veges and a piece of fruit.. black tea or coffee and 2 litres of water....

I have refused to hold Christmas lunch or dinner at our place this year.
We are going away for a few days, him, me and the sachets.

Persie :-0

Persephone

Persephone Report 13 Dec 2011 09:16

I didn't think people got whooping cough any more either...

Gins... leave Cyns alone... we is born in a very special year us two.

But you are right (did I just say that about Gins) it was around when we were young and there were also people that had polio and had their legs in braces like Forrest Gump.

Dea

Dea Report 13 Dec 2011 09:24

I believe there are still a couple of hundred cases per year Ginns but not into the hundreds of thousands that were affected before the vaccine became available. Poor you !! <3

It is highly infectious - have you worked out if you have given it to your friends or if one of them 'kindly' gave it to you? ;-)

Persie - Poor OH - I know I would not survive on that diet for SO long !!! I'm not sure I could do it for 12 hours let alone 12 weeks :-( :-( :-(

I hope it will all be worth the effort for him in the end!

Dea x

Gee

Gee Report 13 Dec 2011 09:35

We all started with it about the same time so cant pin down who got it first

It lasts up to about three months, with the coughing easing but you still get bouts of intense coughing from time to time :-0

Glad Im not coming over to yours Pers for Christmas dinner...is you OH on a weight loss programme?

Persephone

Persephone Report 13 Dec 2011 10:12

He asked the diabetic clinic for the diet, he has 12 weeks intensive phase 450 - 680 cals a day. The 2 cups of veg can be raw or cooked... you have got no idea how much I can push into 2 cups.
Then he has transition phase 6 weeks of 800 - 880 cals a day we drop a sachet still have 2 cups of non starch veges + a meal (to their guidelines) 2 pieces of fruit and a dairy (would need to look to see what that means)
Then maintenance phase of 4 weeks 1000 cals a day .. drops to one sachet and breakfast (to their design) gets put in.
Then stabilisation phase of 6 weeks 1200 cals a day ... no sachets 3 meals all to their ideas but has to include the 2 cups of veg, 2 fruits and 1 dairy.

So it is over six months of fiddling and f**ting around with food. They say only 48% keep their weight off and successfully reverse their type 2 diabetes.

I had lemon mousse cake for my afternoon tea...

Do you think you should start taking something like malt Gins to get yourself back to par... that and the odd whiskey or brandy should do it.

Dea Report 13 Dec 2011 10:28

He will probably lose a 'whole me' in weight by the time he has finished Persie - I often wonder where it goes :-S

The boy next door has always been 'big' and he must have been around 30 stone, I would imagine.

He went on a diet and I couldn't believe it - he is now a 'little' person - maybe 12 stone or so !!"

SO - where is the rest of him now ???

It is such a puzzle - has he just 'melted into the ether???

Persephone Report 13 Dec 2011 11:01

Well it's not exactly pouring off him... very slow...

He has very shapely slim legs and a friend once said that he had seen OH running without any visible means of support. See him from back view and you would not know he was overweight.

I may go on it as well... I could do with losing a fair bit.. I did lose quite a lot before I quit work and then put it on and some after I broke my foot. I used to walk a lot and now I am not so good at it.

P xx who shud be asleep ... night night... :-)

32,300 just to annoy Fanny if she is about.

P.S. Are GR imposing censorship on members avatars they don't like?

On Sunday night to go along with the Christmas theme I changed my avatar to a cartoon one of a Father Christmas "Mooning" with the words "Bah humbug" above. Yesterday without any input from me my avatar reverted to my usual one depicting that good looking fellow that you now see.
