JBs mom uses Lakeland, she got some lovely fake Christmas flowers that you plug in and they twinkle....very nice

Cant wait to hear about the air fryer and if they cook chips well! I dont eat chips very often as they repeat and I cant stand that :-(

I'll second that Dea........ja...x Lakeland are absolutely brilliant. I have used them for years - the service is personal and they cant do enough for you.

I have been to their flagship store in the Lake District........could have spent a fortune! Have a look at their site - they sell the most amazing gadgets - you may find some of their stuff helpful actually.

Right - back to STrictly!

Air-fryers are supposed to be brill for chips - I think that this is the first thing everyone tries with them!! No good for a family though - the portions they cook are big enough - but fine for 2 people!!

Will try and catch up with you all tomorrow at lunchtime - you all sound OK and busy busy busy shopping etc!!??

Too late Dea while you were all chatting I found it and bought something :-D

As you know I dont cook now, but it is mainly because everything is dangerous, so I bought a prestige multi cooker which is a large electric frying pan come cassarole dish.
I had one about 30 years ago which was passed down from my mum, so hoping I maybe able to use this.

Oooh, I used to have one of those when I worked the holiday centres, it was fab to do a bit of home cooking in my cramped little chalet

My mum bought hers in 1974 when we moved house and were without a cooker for a few weeks, all sorts were cooked in it along with the deep fat fryer.

I ended up with it in 1982 and have no idea what happened to it although it did have a broken leg, which I had to put something like a coffee jar lid under it to keep it level. Anyway I will see if it is any good for me to use

Was having a quiet little "stew" to myself about 3 hours ago!

OH sings in the church choir. Tomorrow evening they're having a Christmas Concert at the church ............................ an annual event and lots of other people "join" the choir (some under duress from their partners) to increase the number from their usual 5 or 6 people.

They've been practising for weeks on Thursday evenings.

Choir Director sent out email on Friday, saying "practise Saturday morning 10 am, for about an hour"

It was 12:15, and OH was still not home ........ and we had things to do!

He walked in about 10 minutes later .......... mad as all get out :-)

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 17 Dec 2011 23:13

We went for our Saturday morning coffee and latte .................... and added sausage rolls to the order

That was lunch

Then he took me to the mall, so I could return those tops I bought yesterday.

They were the right size, but were elasticated, and the style meant they clung in all the areas I didn't want them to cling. Also a bit itchy on the inside.

Lucky Lucky Lucky

He dropped me off at the door, and went to find parking

........................ and we were in and out within 10 minutes (having had to find a cash register that was not dealing with someone returning 10 different items, all bought online, and all with separate order forms and receipts :-| )

He had found a parking space within about 50' of the entrance door .......... there was loads of parking spaces up on the roof where we were ........... not so much down at ground level where everyone was driving around, and around, and around

We were back home in just over an hour after we left, having had lunch and returned the tops.

Mind you, that was about 2-3 hours later than we had planned before the choir practise took over!

I bought some stuff from a Lakeland store when we were back in the UK in 2008.

I was pretty impressed with the store ............... and did check them out on the internet after we got home.

Haven't tried ordering from them though.

Theres nothing worse than tops that cling in the wrong places....no matter what shape we are

Persephone

Persephone Report 18 Dec 2011 04:04

I bought a rash top and they cling so I got a really large one... though don't know why I bothered cause they cling anyway when you are in the pool.

You can see the Tumblekins toy I bought on:

http://www.shopatron.com/products/category/224.0.1.1.95792.0.0.0.0

Sylvs I looked up Facebook instructions re their new look that I do not like the layout of and it says:

Control who sees your stuff
Only the people you originally shared a post with can see it on your timeline. If you want, you can go back and change who sees a post, delete it or just hide it from your timeline.

So I guess it is okay... if anything untoward happens I will be having a winge.

Gosh only a few hours and Gins will be shopping... it is Sunday she is going eh what ? :-( ;-)

Persie :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Persie

I gather from what others have been saying that you get told you're getting the new version, and then you have 7 days to take off anything that you do not want to be seen by everyone ............... it sounds as though the same sorts of privacy levels will be there.

BUT we'll have to ensure that what we have made the changes to ensure that we do have the same privacy in the new version.

I'll be interested to see what the Canadian Privacy Commissioner has to say about the new version.

She didn't like a lot of what was allowed on there about 3 or 4 years ago ......... and succeeded in getting Facebook to make changes to fit in with Canadian laws :-D

If I put up a Maple Leaf will I get Canadian treatment...

The privacy commission here is quite tuff on some things so I will be interested to see if they will take a stance.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 18 Dec 2011 06:03

ours threatened to take FB to court re privacy issues

...... and they actually caved in on some of them, changed others slightly

and she didn't have to follow through with a court case :-D
