Jonesey Report 11 Mar 2012 08:02

The movement of our clocks appear to have been standardised now and are currently the last Sunday (AM) in March (1 hour forward) and the last Sunday (Am) in October (1 hour back).

There has been talk about retaining British Summer Time permanently to keep us in line with most of Continental Europe.

Persephone Report 11 Mar 2012 08:12

We have been 13 hours ahead and we still are..

There is some time where one of us changes and then we are 12 and then the other changes and we become 11... I think... it gets messy when we switch off daylight and Brit goes on to daylight. I have to post a message first to find out what clock is ticking where.

And if you understand all that could you explain it back to me.. as I don't understand any of what I just said. :-S

I am now going for a wander to build up my appetite for lunch :-D :-D

See you all later.

Persie,

Somehow I don't think that British Summer Time would suit the inhabitants of New Zealand. ;-)

Youve lorst me Pers!

I only remember our time changes by 'spring forward' 'fall back'

Hate to contradict my friend Syl from "Lotus Land" or the "Left Coast" as we affectionately call them but from this part of Canada and much of the USA the UK is 4 hours ahead of us now. We have 5 time zones in Canada

Newfoundland 2 1/2 hours behind UK
Atlantic 3
Eastern 4
Central 5
Mountain 6

and where our lovely Syl resides
Pacific 7

A big country we are

Wall Report 11 Mar 2012 13:19

I am reminded of this today as we just set our clocks ahead one hour

When told the reason for daylight savings time the Old Indian said, "Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket."

How appropriate

I think that's why I got confused when I visited Canada a few years ago !!

I did a tour of many parts of it and I never knew quite what time it was :-D

P.S. - I DID find that the people were absolutely wonderful but I did not like the taxes or the 'culture and attitude' of those working in the service industry !!!

Perhaps a post on FB GR asking for a "Mega Thingy" look up on 192 or Freebmd could help Cyn. You are probably trying to add another 200 "Mega Thingys" to your tree.

There is a Mary Thingy in the 1920 US census in New York .... could be a relative of Mega

You and Trace seem to lose things easily

For Cynthia

Your router will respond to network traffic even if your computers are switched off.
This causes tiny amounts of usage (classed as background traffic, rarely more than a few KB or MB) to be recorded.

This is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

Read Dongle for Router
