Thank you Sylvia <3

At the moment it is excrutiatingly painful :-(

I thought I was doing well as I managed to get a soft pair of shoes on but the moment I stood up and my toe touched the side of the shoe I had to take it off again.

I think I have an old pair of slippers somewhere I will dig them out in a little while and cut the side out so that nothing touches - that should do the trick I hope, then I can just about manage to hobble just using my heel :-\

You might just have to do as little as possible .... moving only for necessary things like going to the loo or to bed. A least for the next couple of days.

Can your OH do any cooking???

Have you got any painkillers you can take?

Don't worry Sylvia - I will be good and hubby will do anything that is needed :-)

I am sure it will be O.K. to hobble on if I can get the slippers sorted

Wonder breakfast Sylvs.....thank you........yummy.

Poor Dea.......the advice given you is sound stuff and I can't add anything to it. I can, however, make you a nice cup of coffee and make sure that you don't move too far. I'll carry a tray over with your meal on it. <3

Lovely day, could do with some horticultural advice on the dark side.

See you later ~~~~

Thank you Cynthia - that is very thoughtful of you <3 <3

I found some lovely comfy cotton beach shoes and have cut the side out so at least I can manage a hobble now :-)

Grand-daughter won't be pleased though as they are one of her favourite pairs of my 'dressing up' shoes that she likes to totter about in :-(

Ouch

Dea I know that is painful as I have broken my little toe twice.

The first time was when I chased the milkman round the cot and I caught the toe on the leg of the cot.

( I needed to pay him.)

A was 6 months old. My toe was sticking out at 90 degrees so had to go to the hospital.

I had to use crutches.

Walking on crutches and carrying 6 month old is not easy.

I did it again when V was 6 months old.

Did not bother with crutches.

I was very careful when J and S reached 6 months.

I found I was ok if I kept it flat but if I twitched it was agony.

Dea Report 13 May 2012 10:06

Ooo LK - I hope I don't do it twice - once is enough!!! :-D

Did the milkman give you a lift to the hospital? - I bet it took a long time as those milk floats are SO slow ;-) :-D

I will make you the starter we had for lunch to go with it ! - Portobello mushrooms, drenched with olive oil and baked in the oven, then topped with goats cheese and lots of pepper and put under the grill - served on a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce drizzled with the olive oil and mushroom dressing......................

Enjoy !!!
