Just popping in to keep poor Fred on the move.

Oh has been into town to get Panto tickets.

Hopefully we will get some more photo's sorted through today as I would like to give the boys a "This is Your Life" album at Christmas.

Oh boy oh boy it is galloping towards us isn't it ? (Christmas)

We will be in Berlin in just under 2 weeks then when we get back it is GD's 3rd birthday, then MIL's 86th then Christmas.

I must start getting some of the shopping done if only they would all give me some hints.

We are hosting the Christmas meal this year so far it is six of us BUT ......

Good morning everyone.....thank you breakfast Sylvs....even though you made a hasty exit! :-D

Bright and cold is the weather this morning....brrrrr

I'm not a great lover of panto either Gins. I much prefer a witty comedy to a 'farce' type show. Not keen on musicals either......murder mysteries are my 'thing'. ;-)

Christmas is going to be a bit difficult for us this year because of the sudden death of our son's father-in-law. They need to get their heads round so many things at the moment but we will go with whatever they decide is best.

Going for a quick browse.......and may need to buy some anti-freeze if the weather is going to get colder...... :-(

Linda

Linda Report 19 Nov 2013 11:40

Ok the panto we are going to isn't a traditional one its aimed at ages 3-7.

this is the blurb... It's Christmas Eve and everyone is excited - wrapping presents, going to parties, singing songs - everyone, that is, except Carol.

She hates Christmas and wishes everyone would stop going on about it! But that night as she settles down to sleep she hears someone crying and finds an elf under her bed.

Lost and lonely, the elf just wants to find Santa again. and so begins the adventure of a lifetime, one which Carol will never forget, a search for the true magic of Christmas!

Now how can anyone not enjoy taking a child to see that x

Cynthia

It is always hard for the family when someone dies so close to Christmas. It is hard to enjoy yourself when you are still grieving and at the same time you don't want to spoil it for everyone else.

I know how they feel as two years ago my son and d-I-l were having both sets of parents for Christmas dinner. Her granddad had been terminally ill for weeks and kept defeating the odds.

Dinner was to be at 3pm then put off till 5pm as he was only expected to live for a few hours. He died at 3pm during the Queens speech.

it was her Mums dad and her parents came at 6pm didn't stay for pudding as her Mum was going to meet her siblings.

It was one of the saddest Christmas's I have ever spent .

That sounds much better than the 'usual' pantomime Linds, I am sure she will just love it !!

Gee Report 19 Nov 2013 17:01

Sounds different Linds, hope it's enjoyed

I like a good thriller too Cyns but I do like a good farce.....Laural & Hardy, Frasier etc....

Some good news. Vet has phoned and Star's op went well.

He is confident they have removed all the tumour but as she has a drain in he doesn't want her walking around so is keeping her overnight.

There are no staff on duty overnight but he is going to go back in at midnight to give her more pain relief :-)

My son is borrowing a cage from one of his friends as she hasn't to walk about too much for the next couple of weeks to get out in the garden and back in.

Poor baby x

Dea

Dea Report 19 Nov 2013 18:19

Good news indeed Linds but how on earth do you prevent a poorly dog from walking around on it for 2 weeks ???

At least they can explain things to us 'poorly humans' but a dog cannot really understand what is happening !! :-(

Hope all goes well !

I forgot to tell you that we have a new toaster :-(

it's a retro model ........................ you know, the ones that used to eject the toast when it was ready.

I guess that's why I just found toast on top of the fridge, and another one on the floor under the table :-)

good job it doesn't come out of the toaster buttered :-D
