Very busy morning - not too bad this afternoon. :-D

It's very exhausting watching 18 month old shepherds and 3 year old angels frolicking around..... :-D

Have decided I must go and get my eyes checked this week. I was due to go in October but, what with one thing and another it has been postponed so often. Could be a nice Christmas present to myself.... :-D

See you tomorrow.......~~~

Soon be Christmas and we can have some nuts, some dates, some tangerines, some chestnuts, some parsnips, some sprouts, some roast tatties, some roast turkey (Quorn Chik'n cutlets available for vegetarians), some stuffing, some cranberry sauce, some roast pork complete with crackling, some Pigs in Blankets, some mashed potatoes with grated cheese, some peas, some onion gravy, some Christmas Pudding with brandy butter and custard, some Mince Pies, some single cream, some crackers containing paper hats, useless prezzies and daft jokes, some Sherry, some sparkling wine, some baked honey glazed ham, some Brandy and something to nibble whilst listening to Her Royal Maj's Christmas message

Mo, sorry no can do as orange jello would clash with the green sprouts and peas. Presentation is everything.

Humph.
Men.
I am NOT changing my request.

It goes slightly behind the stuffing and to the right of the parsnips.

Good morning everyone :-D

Thanks Gins but I nipped out and got some bacon.....cos we can't let our Dea go without her morning bacon sandwich can we? ;-)

Hope she brings some tomatoes and mushrooms with her.

Jonesey, I know just what you mean - you need to space the colours out nicely - never putting peas next to the sprouts! My daughter frequently asks why we have carrots so often. Because of the colour I tell her....:-D

Wet, windy and chilly here today brrrr....have just sent OH to sort out the washing in the dryer. Got to keep him active!

See you later......~~

Finally got to the opticians today - only about 3 months late!

All over and done with quite quickly - not much change in my vision but am going to try bi-focals instead of having 2 pairs of specs - reading and driving. I don't have to wear them all the time so will see how I get on. :-D

Ironing done, prezzies wrapped and a visitor entertained......although he did most of the talking... :-D

Time to eat methinks!!

Gee

Gee Report 16 Dec 2013 18:53

Eeek....alarms are going off left right and centre here. JB just got home to say the lights are out all over the place, including traffic lights

Our neighbours lights are out too, but ours are OK. We did have problems with the electric (underground) a year or so ago and they fitted new cables...maybe that's why

Now we have sirens from ES

:-0

Gins a break is just what you need enjoy <3

Hope your lights stay on x

Cynthia glad you finally made it to the opticians

We got quite a bit of shopping done today still got loads to do though.

Just saw on the Scottish news that the city farm my parents helped to set up and that my Dad was manager in and then when he "retired" a volunteer till a few months before he died aged 81 has had to close to visitors due to damage caused by the high winds.

The farm is called Lamont Farm and it has never closed in 35 years.

People are donating food etc for the animals but they are struggling and the insurance won't cover the full cost of the repairs. :-(

My GD's are the 4th generation of my family to visit/ be involved with the farm really hope that donations flood in.

So many people have worked so hard to keep it going and it has given pleasure to so many children and adults.

Charades Jonesey. Don't forget the charades!!! :-D

Am feeling so chuffed at the moment. I decided to look at the Canadian 1921 census and spotted one of my Canadian families on it. Then I found a link to an obituary of my first cousin twice removed.....I thought he had died years and years ago, but no, he died in 2009 aged 97!!!

Just wish I had found him before my mum died as she often told me how she used to play on the farm with this chap when she was a child in Canada. I am now trying to contact his adopted son and family. :-D :-D

After such excitement, I really must go to bed to calm down.....

Night night everyone.....
