Gins glad you enjoyed yourself.

My brain wouldn't remember much French from school our whole clas was "advised" to drop French for the sake of our other studies!

Our teacher was also the assistant head and kept getting called away to deal with something.

Never got anyone to take over the class we were left to our own devices and the result was that we never did learn French!

In those days no one questioned the fact that a whole class was advised to drop a class can you imagine what would happen now ;-)

Sorry Sylvia - I missed breakfast this morning because we had the grandchildren overnight and they have only just gone home............What joy ;-) :-D :-D

So sorry to hear the news about your S-I-L - what a very sad time for you all <3 <3 <3

Congratulations to your friend for achieving such a prodigious award.

Hope you all had a good time last night - I am off for a much needed sit down. ;-)

OOhhh - Thank you Ginns.

I know it's only just gone half past five but my lovely grandchildren don't half wear me out nowadays and after having them all night, all day and then everyone for lunch too - I am now sitting here in my Jimmy Jams as, if I leave it any later I won't have enough energy left to put them on :-(

I can just about muster enough up to nibble on a couple of those posh bikkies though ;-) :-)

Might see you later or, if I don't make it, I will see you all in the morning. <3

Hi all
xxx

it's sort of cloudy with some sun showing here!

We stayed up until after midnight ............ watched the TV for the last 30 minutes of 2013!

OH was in bed by 12:30 am, I followed about an hour later ....... somewhere between midnight and 1 am-ish is my usual time.

Gins seems to have had a fun time! My French is non-existent now .............. even though we live in a bi-lingual country!

take care

Good morning all.....Jonesey.... you just beat me to it! :-D

As you are the first around, maybe you would like to pop the kettle on please? :-D

Meanwhile, I will ferret around and see what I can find.

I think some shopping is needed - I think Dea has been creeping down and raiding the cupboards and fridge! Tuts.......... ;-)

All I can find is:

Cereals - half a box of cornflakes and a spoonful of Rice Krispies!

Enough porridge for two.

2 crumpets

half a pound of bacon

1 tomato - looking a bit sad

2 eggs - with today's date on them

Some mushrooms - not exactly fresh

A stale loaf

Some bread rolls you could use to break windows

An empty Marmite pot

A scraping of jam

3 teabags and half a jar of coffee

Dear oh dear.......:-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

And an empty packet of cigarettes!!! :-S

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Well, it wasn't 'me' creeping around and eating all the food Cynths - I have just had over 13 hours sleep and am still wandering around half asleep ! :-0

I must say though, that 'half a pound of bacon' sounds good - I will bring my own barmcake ;-) :-D

See you all later,

Sylvia it must have been a very emotional Christmas Eve for your S-I-L and her family <3

Thinking of you all

Dea those little ones can tire you out can't they?

But it is sooo worth it :-D

We had a lovely time last night and it was great having a night off cooking.

Going to visit In-laws today not been able to get over for a while as OH has had a bad cold and didn't want to share it with them

Linds

Was it your son that cooked? What did you have?

Although JB has been in work, today was his first full day, he's just got home, shattered!

Linda

Linda Report 2 Jan 2014 17:41

Gins we had steak pie and all the trimmings.

Pudding was a banana toffee with ice cream. raspberry cheesecake or macaroons.

It was lovely to have someone else do the cooking and the clearing up :-D

Linda

Linda Report 2 Jan 2014 17:44

I think the cooking was a joint effort between my son and dil .

He is a good cook and also bakes some yummy cakes ;-)

Today was miserable all day .... rainy and grey!

Mind you .................. it was snowing hard up North where my sil lives. OH got there safely, and on time ................ which doesn't always happen when flying into airports in small towns up there! In fact, I guess the airport might have been closed later in the day.

Sil seems to be being kept comfortable, she's at home ........ they got a hospital bed for her. And she seems to be very rational when not sleeping ........... which is good.

OH is helping to get information together on "family heirlooms" that she has ....... which means attempting to decipher his mother's handwriting! He's also answering her questions re "family things".

The weather is supposed to clear up down here for Friday and through the weekend ........ sunny, but getting to below 0C overnight.

At least we are not getting the bitterly cold weather that is happening in the rest of Canada.
