Dea Report 4 Jan 2014 13:52

Well - I have at last sorted out most of my computer problems but I have a final 2 left !!

Any help would be really good :-S

I used to have an option to search on top right side of my screen where there would be a drop down box and I could choose 'search on this page' and type in a word which it would find on the page for me and highlight. - I seem to have lost this some time ago??

The second is that until my recent problem I had a little black 'blob on one of the toolbars at to left where I could access a sidebar from where I could choose from my LONG list of bookmark. ??

My little black blob has now gorn and I am lorst without it !!! :-(

I can bring up that same sidebar from view at the top but when I close it up I have to repeat the whole process again to find it!

I would like to get my little black blob back :-S :-S :-S

I know that I am not very technical like you lot but I have done very well so far but would like to get things back to how they were.

Dea Xxx

P.S. The problem came about because I wanted to see something on a website which said I had to download a certain toolbar to see it. I don't usually do this but wanted the info.

Anyway, the toolbar took over my home page and so everything I did had to go through from their home page.

I am using Mozilla and usually when I close it down I have it set to open up at my last session with all the tabs I usually use, however, it would only open up on 'it's' homepage and all my tabs were gone.

I could not find the toolbar to uninstall it so tried to do system restore to solve the problem but this would not work.

I eventually found 'the culprit' inside the Mozilla programme under extensions and was able to get rid of it from there (clever me!!!!! :-D )

Just those 2 problems remain.

Many thanks all,

Dea Xxx

P.S. - Remember Ginns + Co. (from Liverpool) , - I still have problems with my mobile phone 'coz I keep pressing the wrong knobs !!! SO, I have done quite well really! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hi all
xxx

the sun is trying to shine here ........... but it was a lovely sunrise. It was about -1C overnight, and will get to about 5C today

Daughter had over 40cm of snow from Thursday evening to Friday evening, PLUS very cold temperatures for them ...... -10c, which felt more like -27C due to the wind.

She got out her snow shoes, snow shoed about 1 km down the hill to the ferry terminal, across on the ferry, then snow shoed on the flat about another kilometre to her office.

About 4 of them made it in ............... she was hoping for a very quiet day to catch up after the Christmas break. Unfortunately, their clients also made it in, so they had a busy day!

The Senior Partner drove them all home at 3 pm.

That's still a whole lot warmer than in Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec!

Today they are digging out ................. on another very cold day. Monday is forecast to be +10C and raining!

SylviaInCanada Report 4 Jan 2014 20:57

Hi Dea

he seems to be doing well ............. we're communicating by email at the moment, so I can't tell from the "tone of his voice" as you can on the phone.

He's sorting out old family photos, trying to put names to faces, and has managed to read notes made by his mother re family silver and other heirlooms.

All as asked for by his sister.

She's apparently very peaceful, sleeps a lot, but pretty lucid when awake ............. and is still ordering people around as she did when healthy :-)

It's snowy and day highs are around -5C ................ all pretty normal for up there.

Dea

Dea Report 4 Jan 2014 21:05

Sounds good Sylvs and very hard for him !

As long as she can stay peaceful and sleepy I suppose that is all we can hope to ask for when our time comes !!!

Love to you all,

Dea xxx

I had a tussle with the tree, all 8 foot of it.

Almost strangled me sen with the lights then the baubles were flying at me left right and centre

Each branch is attached separately so it was a mission.......then I had to get the darn thing back in the box
