oh no !!!!!! - not another surgeon !!!!!

we have a very lovely tree in our front garden which i have nurtured since it was a tiny sapling over 30 years ago. - it is the prettiest around and admired by everyone, - or it was !!!!!

we like to keep it pruned lightly, especially on the one side where it overhangs my neighbours driveway and, usually i direct my hubby as to where to cut to keep a good shape.

however, he obviously decided to tackle it while i was at the hospital on monday.

i didn't notice when i got home but when i saw it yesterday it was straight up and thin on one side and the other side was fat and had a huge bare hole in it and tall spiky bits at the top and................ well, i think you get the picture !!!!!

i had to call in a tree surgeon to sort it out....... :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

it cost a fortune but at least it might recover now.

he has had to cut loads off to get it into some sort of shape but at least it is now presentable ;-) :-D :-D

i do hate to see 'shaped' trees so i hope it recovers quickly !!!

Sounds like your OH was in the dog house after that episode Dea........ oooops!!

Can I please ask another favour?

Thought I had finished my soldiers and realised that I had forgotten about one
Herbert Baker. Have found a possible living in Wigan but can't attach him to any of the war dead.

It's possibly Herbert Baker born 1887 in Hindley - parents James and Elizabeth - and I've accounted for most of the soldiers with that name...... :(

If anyone has a minute to check for me, I would be so grateful. Thanks.

Dea

Dea Report 9 Jul 2014 18:50

1 day in the dog house ginns ????

it was only in the last century that people got 3 months hard labour for stealing a handkerchief - if you could have seen my poor tree i am sure that you would think the punishment should be many times that !!!!! :-(

anyway - it is our 43rd wedding anniversary tomorrow so i suppose i will have to forgive him by then - he had better buy me some lovely flowers - that is all i can say ;-) :-D :-D

Had a busy day.

Had the girls while son got a haircut then they all stayed for lunch.

The son says he was going to take the girls to the city farm my parents helped set up and that my dad managed for over 30 years.

I haven't been there for a few years so it was strange...

O and I held a tarantula while grampa and daddy stood well back using the excuse that they were taking photos ;-)

My son hates spiders O thinks they tickle :-)

Gins I was holding the tarantula with O :-)

Today we went round to sons then did shopping.

Just got it all away having a cuppa then have to bring the washing in and get the bed made up.

Then back to sons to babysit while DIL goes to her exercise class :-)

Tomorrow I am doing nothing not moving out of the house except to sit in the garden.

Helloooooo

We were round at sons babysitting.

Got home and M was making dinner we timed that to perfection ;-)

It was 26c here at 6.30pm :-)

Gins it's weird I don't like spiders but I can hold a tarantula no problem :-) :-)

Linda

Linda Report 10 Jul 2014 21:01

Gins glad you liked the photos.

We got a good deal as they had an offer on. £10 per photo and £5 for any copies :-)

I think they are just as good as the studio ones we had done of our lot that cost a fortune.
