Oh Sylvia,

I am so sorry to hear about your friend - Strangely, I was just thinking about her a couple of days ago.

I know it is very sad for all her friends and relatives, especially her husband but from what you have told us about her condition, I am sure it is for the best that all that suffering is now over.

My very best wishes to everyone who knew and loved her.

Yes, it's been short and sharp .... less than 6 months in total I think.

We'd known each other since 1959, when we were assigned to the same room in residence at Liverpool. We shared a flat for the last 6 months of our time there (1964). We then lost contact for a few years in the late 60s, but have been in constant contact since 1973. I also knew her "new" husband, who had been her boyfriend at uni, but then broke up.

Sylvia, sorry to hear about your friend. You could always do something special to remember them, perhaps timed to coincide with when the funeral is taking place. I've sometimes gone to a peaceful place to think about them, or when the weather is right, planted a small shrub or perennial plant to remember them by - I've now got a few good friends in my garden!

Ginny, if I've made curry that's a tad on the hot side I've found a bit of natural yogurt stirred in has taken the sting out of it - not sure if it would work with chilli?

Hello to everyone else! Hope you're all looking forward to a nice weekend - I am!

Ginny - cool it down with some plain yoghurt - It will 'creamy' it up at the same time!!

OOOppps - MC has already suggested that (great minds think alive hey MC??) - Anyway, give it a go - It works. !
