Afternoon everyone....hiya Tracey - wondered where you had got to.

Dea...........I used to listen to plays etc on the radio but have moved on to audio books now. You brought back some memories......The Moonstone....wasn't that a tv series absolutely years ago - late 50's early 60's??? I think the man who used to advertise Mr Kipling was in it. Give me a mo.....gonna google. back in a tick.

Dea

Dea Report 23 Jan 2011 16:06

Well, - I listened to the Moonstone and found it quite insipid !!

I can see though how the beginning might have been quite frightening to a 6 or 7 year old and how the following episodes might have the same effect !!!

Scareys all gone now !!

Cynthia !! -Hello - I didn't have a tv back then I am afraid so I only heard it on the radio !!

Gawd !! - that makesd me sound SO old !!! - 'my' tv arrived in about 1962 - black and white only, of course!!

Glad you weren't scared Dea - you should not suffer from any nightmares if it was insipid!!

Yep...James Hayter was in the tv series in 1959. He used to have that lovely gravelly voice which said......Mr Kipling makes exceeeeedingly good cakes! Remember??

LK, just lay back and relax and someone will bring you small meals at regular intervals.......just think, if we all lived near each other, we could pop round and help out. sigh.

Dea

Dea Report 23 Jan 2011 16:10

LK - have you gone back for another well deserved sleep now ???

Dea Report 23 Jan 2011 16:22

No I won't Cynths !! - Only the usual medication induced ones !!!

The serial was not scarey at all !!

Perhaps if I had known in 1959 that he was the one who made those exceedingly good cakes, I would not have been so frightened !!!

Anyway - that's me done - where is LK !???

I hope she and her husband are all right !!

Thinking about it LK - I feel you must be SO exhausted that you will not be back on here for several days.!

Just KNOW that we are all thinking about you and your poor husband !!

When you feel better - come back on here and let us know how you are!!

I know from experience with ladies being taken into hospital in foreign parts that the husband needs 'special care' as he is SO worried aout his 'other half' !!

Get your family to take care of him also !!

Very best wishes to you and to your family!!

Cynthia,

Us lot all living near each other would be a huge mistake!!!!, for 1 we'd never be here.... and secondly our repective others halves would never get a word in!

Hmmmm **drifts off to a happy neighbourhood** lol
