Nice to see you too LK - you sound a lot better than you were!!

How do they 'set' the broken shoulder nowadays - is it just strapped up ??

Glad the pain is getting easier though - have they told you how long it might take to heal ?

I suppose it will be several weeks.

Just make sure you keep resting (and OH too)

Solved two problems on here in the last hour and no one has said well done or anything yet................sigh

About 8 years ago I was living with my parents briefly and they only had dail up internet. When the phone bill came in there was a large charge so dad rung them up and said his daughter had been using the internet so he did'nt know what she had been looking at (meaning me) they told him he should put parental control on it...lol

I wonder how she felt when he told her his daughter was 45

I hope you keep some 'burn cream' in your first aid box Cynths if you do this regularly!!

I can't remember what the one I used was called and I have looked and I have none in, BUT, I did discover that a good dollop of steroid cream would do the same job and I have that in so didn't bother replacing the burn one !

Dea Xxx

EDIT - Acriflex it was called !

Hi all
xxx

I have an aloe plant ...... remove the tip of a leaf, and plaster the "sap" on any burns.

Works wonders!

truly sorry, C ..... that's the kind of thing that I do. OH says "How can you do such a thing? No-one else does that!"

LK . nice to see you sounding a little more like yourself.

Breakfast of some sort is available every morning.

who was that woman who ran through here waving madly??????????

OHwent to open the back door this morning, and the snow shovel fell in!

The door opens into the carport, and next to it is a space under the study

....... the recycle box was also moved from its place.

AND the portable generator we store under the study had gone walkabout.

It's quite a large generator, on wheels, that we use up at the cabin but bring down here for the winter. It had been covered with cardboard, and was tucked away ................. so someone had to have come into the carport to really see it.

It cost us about $1500 (ca £700 or so) 5 years ago.

Then we discover that we cannot find the manual, so we can't tell the police the actual model number, etc. We're both certain that it was in one of the two "book" boxes that we brought down in September, but blowed if we can find it! The other option of course, is that we somehow left the manual behind, and it is now under about 10' snow!

OH has reported it to the police, and we have a case number, but they can't do anymore until we have the details. Because we have a case number, he has been able to report it to the insurance, and we're now waiting for an adjustor to phone.

The snow shovel being leaned against the back door means that the theft happened after about 6:30 pm Sunday evening, because that is when Iain came home from rehearsal, and came in through that door.

What a start to the week!

the bruise is coming out now. a lovely shade of turqoise.

when i asked how long they said maybe up to 12 weeks for full recovery.

i have a padded sling that is adjusted by velcro.

supports the weight of the arm.

keeps itching where i cannot each so using a hairbrush to get it.

Cannot wash my armpit so sorry if you knocked out.

sounds like we are all having one of those weeks.

new sign went up today and apparently looks great.tomorrow is the day and i am off for at least the rest of the week.

It's strange ......... I've always been worried about the generator being stolen, OH never expected it to happen!

But we couldn't bring it into the house ......... we tried that last winter. The petrol smells, and there's always a slight oil leak. So we now have a stain on the concrete floor where he put it ......... thank heavens OH didn't put it in the carpeted area! And it took months to get rid of the petrol smell.

and I have to admit, that apart from last winter, we have stored a generator outside under the house, or under the carport, since about 1999. With no problem

Dea

Dea Report 24 Jan 2011 20:33

Let's just hope it leaks petrol all over the new 'owner's' house, and maybe even blows up (as generators sometimes do !!)

When my sister was knocked over by a car she had broken bones and pots on...she used a knitting needle to get down the leg!

So if it werent for these scum bags, our LK and Sylvs would be OK this week
