Dea, I have had two very difficult days.....


Yesterday I gave a presentation in front of many people including MPs re autism - that went very well but was a long day. Couldn't get on the internet though and I didn't know why. Spent an hour last night talking to the technical people from my ISP. They said it looked fine to them!


Today I have spent about 4 hours on the phone to them and have discovered that they had accidently disconnected me whilst altering my package deal!!


I was absolutely fuming blazing mad and let them know too.


I have received their sincere apologies and they will reconnect me at no charge but can't do it until 3rd March.


So, meantime, I have been out and got a dongle thingey which I didn't have to pay for because Carphone Warehouse and TalkTalk are connected.


Problem is, it limits me to about 5 hours per day on the internet. - so I will have to time myself and may give up sending my messages out until I am properly connected again.


Daughter has let me borrow her dongle whilst she is here as that has unlimited time on it.


Very stressful times..........arghh.

Cynthia - Assert yourself !! - Tell them to reconnect you NOW - Or else !!!

You have 'MP friends' now (tee hee) - speak to them, or threaten that you will speak to them !!

Also threaten to charge them for the 'dongle thingy' !!

You do not have to be stressed by this !!

'Sincere apologies' count for nothing, but they are an admission of fault on their behalf - work on that !!

Tell them you will put in a claim for compensation - 4 hour phone calls etc .,

Do not let them fob you off - they can conect instantly - Tell them to do just that !!

Thats awful Cyn I dont know what I would do if I only had 5 hours a day...a month sounds a long while to wait for connection.

They know how annoyed I am but it seems I live in an odd area for internet connections - it has something to do with my local 'exchange' which probably needs updating or whatever!! I have been told this by other providers so I know there's something to it.


It's gonna be really hard to be clockwatching all the time.........

Cyn...you should have a couple of months free connection for your trouble, thats what they gave me a t work when I was down for a day

Weren't you not connected via this connection for some time now without any problems?

Have I just got confused or did you just tell them to change you to another package?

If so, the connection should be the same and you should have no more problems than you had before ??

Dea, yes I have been with them for about 4 years. It seems that the chap who changed my package got it all wrong and is to be told about it!! I could have hung him up by his ears this morning I can tell you!!


Incidentally, I am usually a very patient person and can take a lot....but this got me really wound up.


Anyway, on to happier things. Seems like some of you are having fun on FB - what's the news on here though??? Any strange posters or wotaveyou?

All that searching for that blasted Mary women -- and now John Dadds dropped dead 1888---

10 years to man hated by her father and 7 years to Dadds -------I feel like I searched longer than she was married

There is really sense in leaving the searches alone and going back later -- cannot tell you how many times I went thru freebmd -- looking for re marriage and am still angry at my self over the W I read as - M for married

Oh well ---

Its for Dad -- cant really have Mums lot at 500 odd -- and Dad with half a dozen

Thank you ---what a sad life she had -- twice widowed - no children -- her legacy did not do her well

I am also stuck with brother Joseph -- he was left half of the family farm - a trunk and a chest of drawers !! -- looks like he sold up and moved to Cheshire and became a Iron Lab -- Father did not die until 1865 -- both brothers unmarried and working there --- they were both out like a shot - sold up and gone -- I have all on all others -- just Mary and Joseph stumped me
