perhaps you have perfect knowledge

like the fact that several times I asked that poster politely to please explain the records she had posted because _I_ was confused and then I realized she was just posting any old thing for no reason at all

there was no telling off there were sincere questions and then polite suggestion that it was not a good idea

it is her choice to keep doing that and no one else if they are honest thinks it is even a slightly good idea

and now I am being followed around by that poster making soppy remarks to posters she is not even helping and nasty ones to me

and fyi I did send a private message, it went like this, in return I was called a liar, so perhaps everyone will now just myob


I am sorry but I am not the only person perturbed by the long posts of unrelated records, I have seen someone else ask the same thing in threads where you have done that and others have remarked on it to me privately

I don't think it is for posters to decide for themselves, I think all those things can be found by posters as easily as by us, if it were just for them to decide we could just copy out the entire contents of baptism records on line and the like, if we don't have a reason to post records, as being actually an answer to a question, it just makes it more difficult for them and other helpers to sift through a thread

many posters think that because something is posted in a thread it _is_ the answer to their question, and espeially I think when it is just posted with no explanation that it is just something that _might_ be related

I have no desire to cause offence either, only to make the information posters are given as helpful as possible

yes, it is annoying ................... but she thinks it helps,



and I have heard from some posters that the information she has posted has indeed helped them put ancestors into place



for heaven's sake ................ do what I do ....... scroll down past those postings, and read the ones posted by others.

Chrissie I only pmd the first marriage as she may still be living then saw you had the second and tried to direct him back to you.
I was then distracted so did not put it on the thread but came back to it today when it was apparent that he was having problems with the system.

I also know Greenwich well and come across lots of people in my work soanother reason to check it out.

More info such as occupation can be gained from FMP so again if they sit side by side then no problem.

The great thing is we all look at records and notice different things about them that may be the key to the question. teamwork is good.

I don't know how many different ways I can say it, my concern in the Albert thread was not to confuse him ............ and also not to waste my own time

Sylvia as far as some of the things that are posted actually helping posters ........... stopped clocks and blind pigs and all that ................

as far as having access only to free sites .......... you may have noticed that the free sites being used by the poster now have a lot more records on them like census information ............. so the inventory of unrelated records available for copying and pasting has grown like topsy and the unrelated records in fact being posted have expanded at the same rate ..........

this is no different from how it would have been if all posters with access to pay sites in the past had done that, just posted up any record of any person with a similar surname ......

Please carry on helping him. He looks a lovely chap.It must have been heartbreaking for him to live not knowing what happened to his family after such a traumatic experience.
I have lest my first post but deleted the rest. I have no wish for him to be upset by it.
