Question Ancestry....Why have I been given details of what someone has added to thier tree, when it has nothing to do with my family?

Of course there is also the other one who has added my ancestor born here 1781 has a child in canada in 1822 on the census here in 1841 then dies in canada 1858....must have been a bit of a traveller that one?

jax -- I'll bet that ancestor of yours was hooked up with mine whose kid born 1775 in Cornwall was also born 1775 in Tennessee and then married and died there! ... but is buried in Cornwall ...

Conversely, someone has complained on the surname board in question at Ancestry (the surname of the Tennessee fellow, which is *not* the Cornwall surname, despite sharing some vowels and consonants with it), where I've posted a general admonition and request that the US types remove my grx4 grandparents and their family from their trees, that he is constantly getting notices when I do this.

I think maybe he just got notice of my post on the surname board, and then of the four times I edited it and the once I replied to it to add more info. ;)

He's all peeved that he gets this notice and it doesn't relate to him. Oh dear. I don't suppose most of the posts on the board relate to him!

If he's actually getting notice when I add "comments" to the idiot trees in question, he'd better hold onto his hat, because there are 48 of them, and I'm not halfway done. ;)

This was only on four trees but I was looking at thier kids first born in 1799 no more until 1815 then she has another 10 last one at aged 52 not impossible but strange.

Anyway I still dont know why I was getting details for people that have nothing to do with me

that posting disappeared yesterday night (UK time) .................. I think she might have removed it herself, although GR or FB might also be responsible.

She also posted on the main GR wall at about that same time .............. reposting what she'd said. Then deleted it

All her postings except one have gone from the Census thread.

Then her sidekick Jan started a thread warning people of the "vile ones", naming CJ as J Canuck, and telling them how to block the "vile ones". SH posted on that, as did JC,

and, incidentally, as did I in telling Jan that it was abominable that she should reveal another name of a poster.

That thread disappeared after about an hour .... I had sent in a complaint about it, but don't know whether that was the reason.


It seems that CJ has been banned ................. I cannot find any posts by her on any threads.

That's disgusting, CJ hadn't done anything wrong, all she did was defend herself on the posts that I saw.

I didn't see the posts last night so cannot comment on them but don't understand how people can do that. Most definitely has a screw loose.

I'm sure CJ will survive!

I like some of facebook but not a lot. I'm not impressed by the GR facebook page but then again that is the place I can get a response from them.

I sent them an email about the problems of logging on here that I was experiencing and their lack of customer service on Friday morning and got an autoresponder from two accounts telling me they were out of the office until Tuesday but would get back to me then. I have not heard anything since. At least on FB they reply.

I mainly use fb for talking to family and friends on other continents.
