Well it is exactly the same material ,same pattern, same thickness, same width.... I saw the other before buying the far less expensive version...Its all in the name of the place you buy it from mainly...Upmarket shop or upmarket indoor market that has lots of small shops/booths all under one roof...Never had a bad buy from the place since I first went there as a child of 6 and the only thing I am disappointed at is the home made faggot shop is closed...Mother and I would be eating them on the way home as they were so nice we couldnt wait.
But the new stained glass shop/booth in it makes what you want to order and every piece is of the highest quality and signed,so one day maybe my great grandkids will inherit something that is worth a bob or two..
But I guess if you can afford Cartier or Tiffanys to leave it would be better.....I cant though.

Once upon a time in another life I used to go to H-a-r-r-o-d-s for lunch sometimes, courtesy of a friend who worked in the accounts dept...Lovely lunches, but glad I wanst paying, nor to use the loo after, all gold fittings and green marble if I remember correctly, but expensive for a quick sit down..
One day I decided to buy a dog collar encrusted with diamante etc as a present for dad to put on his Sheltie ,very beautiful she looked in it as well, especially with the little gold coloured bone that was the tag to inscribe her name on one side that had H-a-r-r-o-d-s on the other.
I decided also to check out some of the puppies and asked how much for a Westie...£850 they said, this was back in 1991/2....I asked where they had come from and could I see the pedigree please...Oh yes they said...
When I saw the pedigree and the breeders name and address I knew where they were getting them...I also knew that H-a-r-r-o-d-s were paying £180 each for them and that they had no "good breeding"I.E the sort that wins prizes for looking like a Westie should and by far the worst thing was came from somewhere that I would not want a mouse to have to live let alone a dog...
So not all expensive things are top quality, its just the name of the place they are sold through as I said..
In fact that place in London was investigated because of the scandal attatched to their supply place and the fact that a lot of the pups had health problems..

I believe that they are upwards of £1500 pounds now.....Or were in 2005,not that I have been in London since 1999...

we used to have a market like that in Oldham ....... and an outside market as well

I used to love going to the inside one.

Our "treat" was always potted shrimps from the fish shop across the street from the indoor market. Brought in fresh from Morecambe, so they said

Loved Gins comment about the chairs 'spitting' - what a picture that conjures up!

Now, of course, the chairs 'splitting' I could well understand, simply because of the great weight which would be placed upon them!

Last night I woke up with cramp in both legs.....whats that about

I dont get cramp very often, once evey two years maybe but Ive never had it in both legs at the same time

I ate an awful lot of oranges yesterday....cant see them causing the problem?

Dea

Dea Report 30 Mar 2011 09:49

No need to hide from 'me' Ginns - I totally agree with you !!!

My 'expensive' cooker is RUBBISH !!!

I am still looking for one to change to - I had a look at 'yours' but I have 2 problems there - firstly, it has to be a double oven as it is built-in and that is the size of the hole.

Secondly, my whole kitchen is white so it has to be a white one and it does not look as if Smeg do one to fit.

I will look further but I have to make sure I get the right one this time as I can't keep buying new cookers every few months !!!

I can sympathise with those cramps Ginns but I don't think it can be anything to do with the oranges, it tends to come from lack of 'salts' or oxygen to the muscles.

I get them 'very' badly almost every night in both feel and legs and often in my arms and other parts of the body - In my case it seems to be a side effect of one or other of my medications but I can't for the life of me, work out which one.

I suppose it wouldn't really help if I could though as I 'have' to take them all anyway.(tee hee).

Renes Report 30 Mar 2011 10:39

Morning all

Hope everyone is OK --we have some good news -- have found a home for my cats

All five can go as a family - but an elderly woman is looking for one as a companion -- her friend -- who is involved with the Ferral Cat Charity is coming on Sunday to see our baby Sweetpea --- if she thinks he is suitable she will bring her friend to see him next week --- the other four will then go as a family

So all keep your fingers crossed as it will be a great weight of us -- to get them all good homes

We would have liked to wait somewhat -- but it will be extremely upsetting when ever they go and we are very nervous if we wait the offer may noy still be open --
