Tea or Coffee
Porridge or Cereals, Poached Eggs, Toast, Bacon Rolls.
Morning All.
Dark and miserable this morning. Very warm, Temp at 11C.
Will be at home today so hopefully can pop in and out.
Marilyn, When I went to Cape Canaveral I refused to pay the very high entry price to the exhibition. It was downright robbery.
I got talking to an American couple and said why I would'nt pay. I also pointed out that as Tax Payers they had already paid for it. The said they had never thought of it that way before and were going to write to their Congressman.
Keep well. keep safe, keep smiling.

Morning everyone, Marilyn, I always need help with my tree, lol. I have very little to go on with Thomas Boyd, he was born c1808 in County Antrim, a farmer and had a daughter Catherine born c1828 who married Alexander McCaughey on 15th August 1849. Thats it all I know about Thomas!!! Have found a couple of Thomas Boyds in Griffiths Valuation but know way of confirming if one of them is mine. Have searched trees, sent messages and posted on TTF. Stephen take very good care of yourself on your camp out. it looks like a wonderful place but I bet it can be treacherous. Have a good day whatever you're doing, Patricia I hope you are feeling better today.

The weather is not good for the weekend so I hope your be lucky.'
Catherine it gets to screaming point when you research and cannot find the person yo are searching for my Great Uncle Absalom I have been hunting for 7 years and even tried an archivist but she found nothing either . so how can a person appear on an 1881 census and vanish from the earth. His birth certificate shows he was born . so I have given up now it be a big miracle if I ever find him. I hope you have better lucik than I had,
see you all later.

Maddie,
My FIL bred Canaries. He had some really lovely birds. The Aviary was a good size and I suspect he had a great many birds.Too long ago for me to remember how many. My wife would collect various types of wild 'plants' for her dad to feed to them. I do remember how gentle he was when handling them. The aviary was very well kept and was spotlessly clean. Sadly he became too ill to care for them and the Birds and aviary were given to another breeder he knew.

Linda this is for you. I think you said you had lived in a Pre-Fab ?
The Brent Archives is holding a "Drop in Day" PRE-FABS homes. saturday 19th March 2011 at 11 am to 4 pm . After the second World War around 850 temporary factory-made bungalows were put up across the boroughs of Wembley and Willesden as emergency housing, Many of them provided local families with homes until 1960 or later. did you live in one ?Brent Archives would love to hear from you. Brent Archives had some information about them, and a few photographs, but would like to create proper records of this improtant part of local history.while people remember them.
Brent Archives 1st Floor Willesden Green Library Centre 95 High Road NW10 2SF.
I have added that just incase you want to know anything.
we go to the archives when I stay with my sister that was why they have informed us. My sister has now written up our reseach of the road we were born in 7 pages. so this will go to the archives as well.

Hello everyone, hope you are all well and had a peaceful night. Does anyone know where I can get information about someone who appears to have disappeared from this earth? My Great Grandfather, Hugh Owen/Owens was born in Hyde, Cheshire, in 1865, just after the birth of his second daughter [my Grandmother] he is supposed to have gone to Scotland, and there is no record of him returning. If any of you can suggest where I can start looking again I would be most grateful. May not be on here tomorrow as 3 of my horses are being collected so will be a sad day.
Take care and stay safe. Jean xx

Jean,
A Hugh Owen Born 1865. Died in Scotland 1907.
No details as yet as I can't get on the Scotlands People site.
Does that help you.
I noticed someone posting on another Thread that they go to the Scorrish Records Office and are willing to help.
Bests of luck.
Edit.
Jean, I have requested a 1901 Scottish Census Search to see if he can be located to an address. There is only one Hugh Owen of the right age in Scotland at the 1901 Census, Lets hope we pin him down.

I got alot of information years ago from the Scotlandspeople all the records of McCallums in certain area's marriages. deaths .baptisim and found a lot of the relations on them. I still have them but they are McCallum's.
Jean you are losing your horse then ? all of them ? or just a few ? that will be upsetting for you. bless you. hope your feeling better now ?

Afternoon All Bit early for being Dixon of Dock Green, but hope you all have a lovely day. The spaniel is with us. Hubby took him out this morning and I have just got back from a walk round our lake. He's snuggled at my feet now, doggy not hubby I hasten to add !!! Clouding up so he might only get a short walk this evening before bed. Busy this morning sorting out foreign money for next week. Then visiting friends to get the total bill for our trip in May to Scotland. Other friends dropped in for a coffee at midday. Then hubby off to work at 1:30. He'll be back around midnight. Did a fair bit of my cross stitch last night hope to get some more done tonight. Rita the exhibition sounds interesting but unfortunately hubby will be working lates again after our hols. You were right it was me that lived in a prefab in Southall til I was 6 yrs old. I remember it fondly.
Try to get back later

Hi Linda, it sounds like you are having a good time dog sitting. Is all your packing done and ready for next week. Have you done any more knitting lately?. I have not seen our new baby wearing any of the cardigans I made for her. Her mummy puts her in the shop bought ones, that her mum bought for her. Any one would think that the ones I made are old fashioned, but they are so much warmer. Oh well at least I tried, but I wont be making any for my great grandaughter, as my grandaughter doesn't want any home made garments, her mum thinks she's mad, but there you go, I suppose it's a generation thing.
Stephen, I tried looking on the free Irish sites for my great great grandfather, but could not find him. It may have to do with the fact that he was a steward on a ship. But I cant find a marriage for him, and I know he had at least one daughter, my great grandmother. Oh the Irish are such hard work to trace.
We are of out tonight, for a meal with our family, so I will speak to you all tomorrow. Mo xxx

Hello friends. Stephen thank you very much for that info, sounds like you found the right one. didn't know about the Scottish Records office. Rita I am letting all my horses go, except my vardo horse, need him. am too old now for mucking out etc. and I cant ride as much as I did and it isn't fair to them to have them inactive. Mo I hope you enjoy your meal tonight, nice to eat out occasionally isn't it.
Go with God and in good health. Jean xx

Enjoy your meal Mo. I can't understand anyone not wanting homemade cardigans for babies, they're much better than the shop bought ones. Silly young girls!!
Linda, bet you can't wait to get away and soak up the sunshine. Are you getting excited?
Poor Jean, having to say goodbye to your horses, it must be heartbreaking for you. My niece only has 2 horses and they take up all of her time, she can't go anywhere or do anything until she's seen to the horses first.
Stephen take care at the weekend, will you be all by yourself? I think I'm a bit of a pessimist because my first thought was ............ how would you get help if you had an accident? Just as well you don't think the same way as me........... you'd never go anywhere.
Looks like that could be the right man you've found for Jean, well done.
Maddie, we had a few canaries but none of them laid any eggs, mind you - I didn't know what sex they were.......... they might have all been males!
Rita, I think you would really enjoy yourself if you were in a bar with Stephen and Dermot........... I think we all would.
Cath, I've got the same problem as you with the Irish people in my tree, I keep giving up on them and then trying again after about 6 months.
Wonder if Pat went to work today, hope you're feeling a bit better Pat.
Any more childhood memories for us Dermot?
Shelly, did the kids not want you to go with them today.......... or do they just want you as the taxi driver?
Marilyn how could you forget the kids were off school this week? Is it because your grandchildren have different holidays?
Maddie, a lot of houses look like little cardboard cut-outs now.
