Hi all
Keeping fingers crossed for you Rita for Thursday
Happy Anniversary to Mo and Roly for tomorrow
Jean was it today you had your scan or is it tomorrow, hope all goes well
I sent off for a couple of certs last Friday, one is for my gt grandmother on my mum's side, I hope its the right one had problems tracing her on bmd index, I think her surname has been transcribed wrong, I will find out when it arrives. GRO don't seem to do matching father's or mother's name anymore where they refund you some of the money if the details don't fit.

Thank you all for the good wishes I will try and smuggle some sunshine back in my case. Sometimes it works as we usually go away at this time of the year. If Marilyn brings some back too then maybe Spring will really start
Be back in about 10 days

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MO AND ROLY Hope you have a lovely day to celebrate it.
It's freezing here, blue sky, bright sunshine and thick white frost........ just the way Stephen likes it.
Jean, I'm really pleased you got good results, it's great news.
Just waiting for Rita's results now........ keeping my fingers crossed for you Rita.
Mo, your pains might ease a bit when we get warmer weather, maybe you could slip into Linda's case and have a bit of sunshine. Or post yourself over to Marilyn.
My daffs aren't in bud yet but my frogs have all spawned 2 weeks earlier than normal.
Ah, the Pimpernel is back!
Hope you have a great time Linda.

Irish Political Nonsense.
In honour of Enda Kenny (TD), a Co Mayo man of course, who is about to become the new Prime Minister of Ireland. _________________________________________________
Enda, the local TD (MP) was elected to the Dail by a large majority vote. He was so delighted by his win, to all his friends he wrote A letter inviting them to come dine with him In the big hotel - the crowds came pouring in.
There were tall men, small men, bald men, football men, Fianna Fail men, know-it-all men. There were bail men, salesmen, Fine Gael men, IRA men, NFA men, GAA men. There were CIE men, ESB men, RTE men, BBC men, ITV men & EEC men. There were Technicians, Opticians, Physicians, Magicians, Musicians, Electricians & Dieticians.
There were postmen, host men, propose-the-toast men. There were teachers, preachers & men who were good readers. There were bakers, undertakers & men who were fine coffin makers. There were waiters, slaters & men who were good eaters.
There were shopkeepers, street sweepers, men who were good sleepers, Great collectors, team selectors & men who were good electors. There were pit men, well fit men, jurors, rulers, chauffeurs & gofers. There were tailors, sailors, peelers, cattle dealers, joiners & golfers.
There were single men, married men & some who brought their wives along. The women wore tall hats, small hats, green hats, easy-clean hats, Leather hats, knitted hats & well fitted hats.
There were single dames there, well done up ones and well brought up ones. Some had high heels, some had low heels & some had no heels. Some wore mini skirts, skinny skirts, high skirts & low skirts. Some you’d think had no skirts.
Some of these were rousers, some wore trousers. Some could step-dance, others could not dance And more of them had hot pants.
Well, some were sat eating, others were up & down greeting. There were all kinds of nice cakes, ice cakes, sliced cakes & spice cakes. With soup, we got brown rolls, some of them were round rolls. Talk about munching & crunching & drinking, There was no time for thinking.
The soup bowls were soon collected and the next ones well selected.
We got ham & lamb, salmon & tomatoes in a bowl. We got red sauce like lamb’s jam & potatoes in a roll. There were rashers & canapés & carrots by the score. We got roast beef & minced meat & cocks’ legs galore.
We had whiskey & brandy, tonic wine & shandy Cherry wine & sherry wine & all sorts of berry wine. We got fruit cocktail & peaches & then came the speeches.
Oh, manful shouting; they never heard such spouting for the things that could happen, you never heard such clapping.
It was his intention to give everyone a pension and there’s no need to mention it went down very well.
All the bog land he’d drain & make a good playground and plough up the lay land for potatoes we’d sell.
England would buy them & their chip shops would fry them Or else we would dry them & wrap them up well.
Ah, but you know the TDs how they blow like a breeze. They would empty the seas when an election is near. They’d clap like the thunder & they’d hide every blunder.
But then they’d get lazy & take it quiet easy. They’d drive you just crazy if you took any heed.
But they are all just the same & it’s damn hard to blame them; You wouldn’t dare name them for there isn’t much need.

Ahhhhh gee fanks everyone. I am such a brave soldier, suffering for 47 years, and yet I am still here, so we must be doing something right. lol
Jean, I can't tell you how pleased i am that your results were o.k. All we need now, is for Rita's to be the same, and we will be one happy family.
Very good Dermot, keep up the good work, we missed you when you went silent for a few days.
No cooking for me tonight, yippeeee. I am looking forwards to a meal at our local restuarant. The one we went to last friday, for our grandaughters 16th birthday, left a lot to be desired. Plus I do hate being charged a service charge, and as far as I am concerned £17.00 was far to much, but as the meal came to £170.00, they added on the10%. Oh well, shows I am as tight as a ducks ar*e doesn't it. LOL

Dermot I was huming to that, reminded me of Paddy Macgintys Goat.
47 years that is lovely. another 3 and it will be your golden Wedding. better plan a head for that.
Glad your results went well Jean.
I have been busy this morning I sorrted my DVD's out and took ten to the charity shop along with 6 books. and two video.s. I am the type of person who never throws things out. they might come in handy later on, they never do. so I am being hard with myself now and sorting things out.
There is a water main burst on the main road not far from here. the water was gushing out like a small stream. around 4 vans were there and two water board cars . so I filled a bucket and some sauspans up with water just incase.

Hi All,
Mo .....I would have REFUSED to pay for that Service charge. I know its difficult when you are with friends or family to kick up a stink. but there is no LAW to say you have to pay for a service that you don't think was warranted . Gosh Pete would be the first to refuse .......not that he's tight or anything but I think its a cheek to ask for any service charge if you weren't happy with your meal.
Even out here in USA sometimes restaurants add between 10% & 25% service charge on the bill.....so we always put a line through that part of the bill and tip who ever we want IF its warrant 's a tip !!
Also I would say SUE me in court for it !! have you ever seen anyone being sued in court .............?? hmmm...... dont think so
MO...... as you can see its one of my hate's in life asking for more than what the meal entails !!
So hope non of you ever get to go out with ME on a meal !! LOL
Jean glad your results are good ....well done x
just come in from my walk ....must have lost 2 lbs at least !! HOPES ...LOL

Don't worry Marilyn, my kids sorted it out, and the money went to the waiter instead of the company. Shelly there was 13 of us eating out on Friday, some of us had the meals from the set menu, but others had the most expensive. If the meal had been our to taste, it would not have been so bad, as it was only £9.95 for a two course meal. I wanted us to go to Nan*o's, but grandaughter wanted Frank*e and Ben*y's,so thats where we ended up. But never again. Shelly I love Pizz* H*t but Roly doesn't.
Rita, we had a blessing done in church for our 40th, but the way we are going, they may not let me walk up the aisle on my zimmer frame, for our 50th. LOL
Got to go now and get ready to go out, see you later.
