Morning Linda,
We can't get cars in the garage.......it's full of canoes, windsurfers, bikes, tents, and tools. Thankfully, as far as I could see last night, internal damage is fairly low. I'll find out later when I have cleared a lot of the tree and made the place safe to enter. I'll use steel props to secure the remaining roof. The roof trusses are made from steel and although they collapsed they did prevent the tree limb going to ground level. The front gable end has collapsed and the side walls collapsed outwards. All in all it's a total write off It's an Ill wind......as they say.

Linda,
Unofficial reading on Cairngorm Summit in 2009 was 194mph
And in 1984 an Official reading was 173mph
I was in fact on Cairngorm in the 1970s when 155mph was recorded. We had to crawl to get off the top. I suppose we were totally daft to have beem there to start with. :-) :-) :-) :-)

Good morning all friendly threaders, am I too late for porridge Stephen. How awful for your daughter, that must have given her a bit of a fright, I hope she soon gets it all cleared up and rebuilt, be careful when you make it secure later, we dont want it falling on you. Have a lovely lunch with your sister Rita, it sounds nice, and pat don't eat too much, just go back for seconds and thirds. its not too windy here in cambridgeshire, I am watching the news channel waiting to see Obama arrive at buckngham palace, but Ryan Giggs seems to be more famous today.

Pat, you aren't trying hard enough............ eat more chocolate. :-)
Hi everybody, I've been a bit busy today.
This morning I was silly enough to think if I put enough pegs in the clothes I'd be able to keep them on the line. Had to go round the garden collecting them all back in and then wash them all again.
Stephen, have you got any damage to your own home?
Shelly, let's see a photo of your new gear and we'll tell you if you should wear it or take it back to the shop. :D :D

Pat....... :P :P :P :P :P and that's just because you don't put on weight ROFL
Pauline......no damage......I always do a 'belt and braces' job when I build things. I think of the worst case scenario and double the odds in my favour. :-) :-) :-) :-)
As we drove to our Daughters yesterday a tree had come down over the main road and hit a car.....luckily the occupants were not badly hurt. I always think......what are the odds of that happening.......your car being in the right place at the right time to be hit by a falling tree. :S :S :S :S :S :S
Had my tea, now nice and relaxed.

Gets you thinking !
No Charge for Love
A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.
"Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."
"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money."
The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer.
"I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?"
"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle. "Here, Dolly!" he called.
Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.
The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.
Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid.. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up...
"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would."
With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.
In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.
Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands.."
With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup.
Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy.
"How much?" asked the little boy... "No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love."
The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

Evening all. hope you have all enjoyed your day. Oh Stephen, you have made me cry, that poem is lovely. Hope the winds in Scotland have died down now. Scarlett seems to be getting better, not as weepy and the rash has faded a little.
Wishing a peaceful and restful night to you all. Night, God bless. Jean xx <3 <3 <3

Good evening everyone.
Jeniwren, we lost last night honey. We won our first game 2-0, then came up against a team who went through to the finals, and we lost 2-0 to them. Never mind we didn't expect to get very far anyway.
I hope young Scarlett is a little better tonight. Young ones are very hard work when they are unwell, and all they want are cuddles and us to reasure that all will be well with them. Give her big hugs from me.
Stephen, I loved the little boy story, it's a very humbling tale.
Pat we had Cheese Pasta Bake for our dinner tonight, lovely. We got it from Morri*ons yesterday, I only had to pop it into the oven. Thats the kind of meal I like, no mess to clear up afterwards.
Hows the winds where you all are? It's still blowing a gale here, but hopefully it will drop tomorrow. My friend is due to fly out on holiday on Friday, lets hope the volcanic eruption doesn't cause to much of a delay.
I hope that Marilyn and Pete are enjoying their break away, and that Pete doesn't overdo things.
