Just had a phone call from MIke he is out of hospital it appears he was the only one left in the ward with four beds and the consultant came to see him, and said" I suppose you want to go home as well" ? Mike said "I would like that". they took a blood sample and said he must go on Tuesday morning for aother test he is lacking something in his blood now not sure what it is now. ? if the blood test is OK then he will not have to go back in. if not he goes in again. so fingers crossed he stays home. he said all I want is to beable to get back to my job.

Rita Report 30 May 2011 13:20

why do people do it ?

The phone rings I pick it up to answer and sayHello they dont say sorry I have the wrong number they just bang the phone down.
to me that is terriblly rude.

I got an email from GR to tell me I had some super Hot Matches.I did . one of them had every name on my tree that is on GR site. I scrolled down and down and still the names came up mine included and those from the States.698 names.Thats what you call a super hot match. nothing to do with them at all just one member of their family is on my tree.and that is through a marriage.

Just had an email from one of my cousins from the Scottish side of the family. she was telling me she is off on holiday in July and going to Torbay she said we are going to a thatched villiage named Cockington and she is so looking forward to that., they are going to the Manor house and a tour ot the museum and gorunds.

She was shocked when I told her that once belong to my ancestors on my father side of the family my 5 times great Grandmothers family. Susannah Mallack I said I have a copy of the will so can prove all I have said. she is looking forward even more now. she said she has never been to a place where someone in the familys ancestors lived,

Agatha,

Sorry your weekend was a wash out for you. It spoils everything.

In more than 50 years of camping the only time we were washed out was on the South Coast at a place called Dawlish. And that was in July. It was a nightmare. The water was gushing up through the ground like fountains

Rita.....What a co-incidence eh ! Perhaps your Ancestors had sent out a message.. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Time for a coffee and a relax now.

Catch you later..

Linda,

Before I forget !

I had the pleasure yesterday of being entertained by the.......

Maestros.......Berkshire Youth Orchestra.

The were in Glasgows Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Grand to see so many young folk being ambassadors for their County.

Berkshire should be justifiably proud of them. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Dermot....Awhh Dawlish .....I had my first memories in the Cafe there with my first boyfriend, his cousin owned the Cafe.
I can remember walking along the wall by the sea thinking I'm all grown up with a boyfriend ..LOL

Although I courted him for two years ,I often wonder where he is now, someone did tell me he was living in Crediton........Memories are so lovely and so is 50yrs ago !! :D

Not tempted ......LOL

Evening everyone,
Rita, great news that Mike is out of hospital. I hope things continue to go well for him.
Linda you would have been welcome for lunch :D We got some lovely cheese and a very tasty crispy loaf covered in poppy seeds, yum yum. No luck with the blinds though, *and* is the only big diy store here and they didn't have one large enough for my big window which is 2 metres 40 centimetres wide :-(
Agatha I hope Oscar is better soon.
No news from Shelly yet!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to all,
Cath xx
My husband John and myself and children Camped for years
I went camping with my Mum and Dad an sister our first time at camping was during the war when we went to places like Bournend. and Windsor and places in the country to get away from the bombing we had a plain white tent that held 6 people Dad had to camaflarge the tent incase the German planes spotted us from the air. we had some good times Dad was working in Dehavillans building aircraft at that time.
we then brought a bigger tent at the end of the war and was posh we had two bedrooms we camped at Sheepcote Valley just outside Brighton. we use to spend most weekends there. we didnt own a car so Dad build a little trailer and hitched it too his cycle which held the tent. he went the day before us to Brighton(push bike type) our luggage went by Cater Pattersons when we went for a week or more.while we went on the Brighton express.
when I married we could not afford a holiday so we started camping and did that till 1966 we had canoes which we used at weekends on the canal in Perivale.out little luxury
hello everyone
hope you are all well,
good news about Mike Rita
Shelly I hope little legs enjoyed his christening and everything went ok
Been on my own most of the weekend OH at work and son went to stay with friends. He's been wanting a tattoo, been on about it for ages so OH and I relented and said he could have one as he is nearly 18. His friend's family have tattoos so he went to the guy they knew and is now sporting a small one on his wrist.....and a second one on his hip, I'll see them tomorrow.
I've been doing my mum's family who are from Cumbria and Westmorland, it's been more complicated than my dad's side, lots of second marriages and common names
My brick is on my dad's side, Robert Hayes born around 1800 in Hollingbourne, Kent. He married Sophia Mills in 1822 but I cant find his death, he is in the 1851 census in Hollingbourne but disappears after that. In 1861 Sophia is living with family in Leeds, Kent. Any clues much appreciated
