I was reading a little bit of news in a Family History Magazine
quote
From April 2012 The National Archives (TNA) www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
will take over the role of the Museums, Libraries and Archives .Council (MLA)
in supporting the UK's archive sector. This decision announced by culture Minister Ed Vaizey follows the Governments recent "bonfire of Quangos" in which the MLA emerged as a hig profile casualty.
so Kew is to adopt leadership role.

Marilyn, according to Joseph Hunter Barr's death record - he was born on 8th December 1924.

Death Index: 1916-2005
Name: Joseph Hunter Barr
Birth Date: 8 Dec 1924
Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1979
Age at Death: 54
Registration district: Westminster Inferred County: London
Volume: 15 Page: 1984

There are loads of deaths that could be Edna's.

GRMarilyn

GRMarilyn Report 6 Jun 2011 19:48

Cath ...I think Leonard has his death correct 1960 Hackney B 1906 .
As there are no other Hector C Marsh born between 1903 -1909 in England or Wales.

Pauline....Again not another Joseph H Barr b between 1920 -1926 born in England or Wales he is the only one,. sometimes the year of birth is not always true from the informant if its not a member of his family.....I have two with the wrong year on Death cert.

But Joseph H Barr could have been born in Scotland of which I have no access for records .....But maybe Stevey could find out if there was a Joseph H Barr was born in Scotland....

Me ~~~~~ to all

:-D

Evening all !

Thanks for the assistance in my search for Edna Elizabeth Tozer. I suspect she may be dead.

Joseoh Hunter Barr......Pauline you got his birth right......and sorry if folks went on a wild goose chase for him......he was born in Scotland.

Edna Elizabeth Tozer was his third wife.

I don't have the Marriage Certificate but do have the name of his parents.

Thanks everyone for your help.......I'm hopeless with the English BMD searches.

Had the family in for tea :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D That was fun.

Time for coffee and a sit down.

Pauline ...

Just a thought ...I see what you mean the death states 8th march , but the Joseph H Barr that I found birth was registered March Qrt ...hmmm eliminating my one found for Match !! .I was thinking of the years being out by one would be trivial rather than the qrts ...

I take that all back ..LOL

MotownGal Report 6 Jun 2011 20:13

Good Evening All.

What a lousy day today. I was soaked by the time I got to work. Never mind, change into my dry shoes. Then I remembered I took them home to have them cleaned. So had to work in wet shoes all day. :-P

Barbara, I am Maddie. Motowngal is my handle for the boards. I was a dolly in the 60s and loved all the soul music, so plumped for that. Real name Madeleine, but Shelly said it was too long, so we reverted to schoolgirl nickname. I think that explains all that. :-)

Hope everyone is well and warm. I think we may turn heating back on tonight. I shall dig out the tartan jim-jams I think. :-D

See ya all later. God willing. <3

Stephen2009 Report 6 Jun 2011 20:16

Marilyn,

The info was hidden under our Duvet ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) And it's a wee while since that was thrown off.

He must have been a bit of an athlete.....three wife's........but they say too much of a good thing can kill :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Poor Pete, a deprived chap, living on a memory of things from so long ago ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
