Just caught up with the posts, I've been a busy bee this week. Went to a horse show on Saturday then in the evening we went to the BBQ. All the proceeds from the show and BBQ go to charity, this year it's the Altzimer's Society. It got really cold in the evening, I was freezing

Been at work yesterday and today

Hope everyone is well and hello to Barbara
My highlights need doing again, the grey is coming through

We've booked a holiday to the Lakes at the end of July, I'm hoping to see a few rellies while I'm up North

Gooooooooooood Morning All.

Bright and sunny again. Good. Lifts the spirits to be out and about on a day such as today. :-)

Been for my 5 miles run over the fields. Did a bit of training while I was there. 100 sit ups, leg ups and push ups. The dew was a bit fresh on the grass while I was there. But it was bracing. ;-)

So, breakfast.

[_]? [_]? [_]? [_]? [_]?

Tea, coffe, detox drink?

Cereals, toast, jam or mamalade.

Fruit juices.

Eggs, bacon, mushrooms, beans.

Now that we have exercised, we need to keep our strength up for the day.

Just off to have a bath to relax my aching muscles. ;-)

See you later on, have a good day everyone.

Lovely start to the day down here, sunny and warm but it was really windy in the night and nothing to do with OH's curry :-S Had to get up and shut the gate as it was keeping me awake.
Mo, hope your granddaughter has a lovely birthday, my grandson is 3 today :-) Very busy month for birthdays and anniversaries for me.
Off to work soon, hope you all have a good day,

Morning all
Slept later as I stayed up til midnight as I wait for hubby to get in.

Dress is finished Mo. Started a plain jumper for Bulgaria again. Will try to make a few for when the weather cools down again. They don't take as long to make but are a bit boring.

Off to get a few bits at Costco in Reading this morning. Might get a lovely cooked chicken from there as they are really tasty and saves cooking at lunch time and we can have it cold again tomorrow.

Be back later

Linda :-) <3

Morning everyone, just got back from walking Oscar, the little girl across the road came to see him, and she asked me a random question which was hard to answer, she asked me if the Queen ate crisps out of a bag, I said I think she would eat them off a silver plate, but I wonder if she does eat them out of a bag. she then asked me what flavour, so I said prawn cocktail, I do not know why she wanted to know this.
I'll try the detox drink Maddie, it might help lower my blood pressure before I see the nurse tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Morning Agatha

Child are so funny they do ask the strangest questions.
I have been asked some strange question myself from children.
one was
your very old how long will you live ? I was 70 at that time.

another question was
Did you write on a slate when you went to school. ? which seemed a strange question ? her mother laughed they had been talking about children going to school in Victorian days not using paper and pencil but a slate and chalk;
I must have looked very old that day.

Dermot

Dermot Report 8 Jun 2011 08:31

Good morning Rita & Co.

What do you mean by 'Victorian times'? I'm not that old - it's just the way my mother put my cap on when I was born.

As youngsters, not that very long ago, we used chalk & slate to do some school work. No worries about inhaling chalk dust which you could sometimes see through the sun rays blasting through the large wooden windows. No face mask for the chosen individual to clean off the big wall board before class either.

Blackboards & white chalk were the order of the day. White boards & multi-colour chalk were unheard of - in our backwater at least. Bits of chalk were also used by the teachers in their occasional frustration at trying to keep some sort of order in a 30 pupil class. I suppose it was safer to fling the chalk at some miscreant than the large timber based duster.

Ah, happy memories - well, some of them anyway.

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 8 Jun 2011 08:46

Dermot
I too think we had slates and chalk at school and I am younger than Rita. Maybe we were poor where I lived ???
I also remember the throwing by the teacher, but ours did throw the wooden backed duster.

Who remembers ink in ink wells too?

Then when I worked in a school about 30+ years ago they had just introduced white boards with pens, oh boy were they hard to keep clean. Bleached every week.

Have a good day all

Linda :o) XxX
