Agatha - Adam or Eve had no mothers-in-law. They were lucky in that respect but had a liking for apples which were in limited supply at the time.

They were accused of scrumping apples in the Garden of Eden.

Morning all
Agatha I too am being checked by the nurse for high blood pressure after my dizzy spell last week. I hope yours is OK today my checks are Friday and next Friday too.

The sun is out here too this morning Rita. Yes I saw it is forecast showers and heavy where they occur.

Managed to knock the ironing down last night. So all clear until I do more washing.

Knitted the back off a jumper yesterday for Bulgaria, so that was good. Need to get a little stockpile for the winter and get them sent out early this year.

Have a good day everyone

Linda :-) <3

Another thought about Adam & Eve -

She didn't have to listen to him going on about how his mother was such a good cook & he didn't have to suffer her going on about being lumbered with him & that she could have married any man.

Morning !!

I had a great mother-in -law I never once had a bad word with her and she never ever told me how to bring up my boys , I miss her so much.and she lived until 92yrs.
Unlike my Step mother she is a witch !! with loads of wooden spoons that she can stir amongst us
:-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S

Agatha. just relax at the surgery, that way you'll get a really good reading if you wind yourself up and worry you'll get a not so good reading.
Invest in a monitor( Blood pressure machine) I got one.... taking your blood pressure in your own home is the best way of a true reading . on the market now for about £17.
recommended by my doctor.

I have to cook dinner tonight for my sister & hubby.....doing a fish pie & rhubarb crumble.

Back later ...bath ready.

I have been on Tablets for Blood pressure for years now. even with taking them does not stop strokes from happening. I had a masive blood clot a few years back. and nearly died. if I had not been taken into hospital quickly I would not be here.
so take advice from your nurse or doctor and dont try and hide things from them. Agatha.

Alot of people are having that problem Rita, I think its because GR are carrying out changes.
Back from Doctors, and blood pressure is still up, so I am having bloods done at 8.45am on Tuesday and ECG at 12.30 on tuesday, the nurse said they check everything out now before giving medication.

Thats is how it should be Agatha better find these things out early.often blood pressure goes up if you have thyroid problems. my blood pressure went haywire when the doctor took my blood pressure which altered when I stood up and when I lay down it was then a sample showed I had under active thyriods..

Rita, I have to sign in all the time as well, it's very annoying.

Dermot, I liked the letter, very funny. Who did Eve's children marry, where did they come from?

I didn't like my first mother-in-law.......... come to think of it - I didn't like her son either.

I loved my second mother-in-law........... and her son of course.

Rita

Rita Report 9 Jun 2011 12:06

I got away without siging in this time but it does get annoying, why had it just started doing this. ?

I didnt like my first mother in Law she was "put me first type of person " then her and father in Law devoiced and he married a widow what a difference she made to the family.she was more of a mother to the children (there was 8 in the family four grown up and four under 14)

I hope I am a good mother in Law. I have had no complaints my daughter in laws call me Rita and my son in law calls me Rita. it started when they married and I was still young (well in my late 30 's.) and it is the same now. I love it.

Puffs and pants.

Oooh hello all, I have just jogged home from work. Changed into my trackies and trainers. Put the shopping into my rucksack and got home in about 15 minutes. ;-)

I am training seriously running and swimming, but need to start on the bike. I have a stationery one upstairs, so will begin on that. I dont want a sore bum do I?

We had one shower this morning that was so hard the rain hit the pavement and bounced back up again. Then it just stopped, 10 minutes later it was dry. :-D

I shall be having a dinner of protein and carbohydrates tonight.

Fish and chips.

See ya later.

Hi Rita
We got your rain, several heavy downpours through today. Can I have some warmth back, hubby put the heating on before he went to work as I was so cold !!!

My friend came for tea this afternoon after other friends popped in this morning for coffee. So been busy and the phone has rung off the hook too.

One call was the Drs. cancelling tomorrows BP check. Re done for Monday morning now.

Had a call to say Dad was kept in Harefield Hosp after a check up yesterday showed he has some problems including a chest infection and the lower part of his heart isn't working properly. Add to this Mum with dementia and diabetes who cannot care for herself now. Well Dad is in hospital til at least Monday and my sil has been fighting all day to get Mum into respite until he gets back home. Finally found somewhere now Dad has to be told. Hopefully she is on her way there now as she should be being collected at 6:00. I'm too far away at 30+miles and Hubby working from 1:30 and not home til midnight so can't even go and visit who would want me til then.

Oh well the problems of aging parents. Especially when my youngest sister chose to have them live close to her.

Be back later

Who's watching Prince Phillip tonight?

Linda :-) <3

Rita

Rita Report 9 Jun 2011 20:16

Linda. sorry to heat about your Dad and it must be a worry for you about your Mum that is the trouble when one partner is ill and cannot look after the other.
and of course she will need to have a close eye kept on her.I had a friend Betty with that ,and she went into a home as she needed special care. she died two years ago.
I hope your Dad will soon be out of hospital on the way to recovery.

I will be watching Prince Phillip tonight on BBC1 to think he will be 90 on Sunday. ? I cannot beleive it. I recall when they married. He was called a ladies man then. I think he has done very well .
