I wee laugh for today ;-) ;-)

Suicide Bid

An elderly lady of 94 was distraught at being left a widow so she decided to commit suicide and join her hubby in Heaven.

Wanting to make it quick and painless she phoned the Doctor and asked

'Where is the heart located?'

'Just below the left breast' he replied.

Acting on this information she took her husbands gun and placed it in the correct spot.

Twenty minutes later she was admitted to hospital with a gunshot wound............

To the left knee.

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Pat yes I am off to Sandown Isle of Wight on 9th July.looking forward to it. as it is years since I last set foot on that beach. I was just a young girl lol, aand played tennis all around the island .while my husband played cricket.

Good luck to Yvonne. and Maddie dont overwork today, your need the strenght to run. cycle and skip all the way home from work.

Pauline we do expect a warm weekend sunday is suppose to be the best day. but then England expected during the war to HMS redoubt to be retained.we saved for that ship when I was at school. we had a big marker in the playground with and arrow that moved when money was rasied for the ship.

Stephen . dont worry alot of men trun out to be cart horses when they marry. others live the life of Riley.

The say that 'queuing' is peculiar to the UK and, as far as I can tell, it still exists to a degree.

Are you a person who waits his/her turn to be attended to in the shops? Would you huff & puff if someone darted in front of you but, literally, not do or say anything? Do you check the contents of a supermarket basket belonging to the person in front of you at the 'No More Than 10 Items' till?

In a world where we expect everything 'now' - this instant - how long more will the queue exist? Just wondered! But, please, don't make me wait too long for your opinions!

Rita

Rita Report 24 Jun 2011 16:24

I cannot recall queuing before the war. strange that. ? I remember queuing during the war years
everyone had to. to buy goods to go into the cinema or the dance hall.,
the times I had to queue at the butchers long queus at that, no one seem ed to moan, we stood and chatted till it was our turn

The Grocers we queued inside the shop as many shops had food on different counters. bisucits on one and tea things on another a butchers secttion.but then everyone had to wait till the coupons were crossed off or cut out of your ration books, you had to have patience then,

I recall standing at bus stop waiting for the buses and some American service men staring at us, I suppose they were not use to queues.?

I was once asked by an American is this the Bus that goes to the Gar -rage . it sounded so strange ( not my spelling trying to prounce it the way he asked me.) I said yes but you need to get into the queue he looked a bit dazed I then said into the bus line.
when I moved to Norfolk I met alot of American servicemen stationed at Lakenheath. and wondered if they queued ?

I must admit I still queue and it makes me mad when someone comes up to the stop when the bus comes and tries to get on it before those of us who have stood in line. I had a row once with a black lady she tried to push pass me as the driver said room for one more so I pulled her off and told her I was here before her . she started arguing with me. but I stood my ground.
she had to wait for the next bus.. I have found school children do this alot jump onto the bus and ignore those of us who have waited for the bus.
