Rita Report 27 Jun 2011 12:11

No thanks Marilyn I dont like those MRI scans I am claustrophobic and hate getting into lifts or a small room with a door shut.. I had one two years ago and they let my sister sit with me.

I have my cancer scan on Wednesday and I dont like that either as they put idione into my arm and it makes you feel funny.

Hi everyone, from a hot stifling Kent.
How come I don't have hay fever, but can't stop myself sneezing, and my nose is dripping like a tap.
Me thinks I will jump in the car wash with Marilyn, and get a good scrub down by the georgeous cleaners.
I feel like having a little excitement in my life at the moment, who else is going to join us.

On a serious note.
Jeniwren is having a scan done today, on her back and breasts.
She sends everyone her love and best wishes, and will be back with us when she is feeling a little better.

A few years ago, a 36-year-old accountant from the southern town of Salerno was granted an annulment of his marriage because his wife's mother was making his life hell.

Would you admit to similar mother-in-law problems?

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 27 Jun 2011 15:33

My children couldn't understand why my mother in law, gave the cat liver and bacon for it's tea, when all they got was bread and jam from her Dermot.
They have never forgotten that, and still talk about it to this day.

Its made me feel better ....as I have certainly been thinking about her, I bet little Scarlet has missed her nan too.....

Just come home from shopping I am looking for a mulberry coloured handbag just a tiny one to go with my shoes for the wedding, and being summer not a lot of chance of that colour being around I might have to borrow one or look around Charity shops as I'll never use the handbag again only the shoes !! :-S

Just to say I had a great MIL we never ever had a cross word , I miss her so much.

Mo..... my family cat as a child only ever eat what was left over from our dinners , then that wasn't much .but it did live until 13yrs ...not bad for scrapes !! LOL

Hi All
Glad to read that Jean has had one lot of good news.

I am just back from my 4 days in Mid Wales near Aberystwyth. Lovely hotel(Country House !!!) beuatiful scenery in a great position, fantastic food, but too much of course. Shame about the weather. Rain when we got there Friday afternoon for the next 24 hrs. Lovely on Sunday all day went to Aberaeron a seaside and harbour then an NT property. Good this morning then mist rolling in when we left and heavy rain when we wanted to take a break so drove further ended up in a sevices on motorway for lunch not the best.

Out tonight to a family gathering at eldest daughters, so no cooking tonight. Seems she wants us all together, don't know why?
Lots of washing to catch up with, so hoping for a nice day tomorrow. Hubby will be back to work.

Linda :-) <3

Dermot

Dermot Report 27 Jun 2011 17:26

Older generations, like some of us, are quick to condemn those who follow in their wake. We convince ourselves that things can never be as good today as they were ‘back in the good old days’.

The modern youngster is labelled with every conceivable stereotype that older generations can conjure from a world they no longer recognise. Consequently, today’s teenagers cannot spell because they spend their whole time text-messaging; cannot write because they spend their whole time on computers; cannot walk or run a reasonable distance because they pass their days in front of Play stations and Wiis.

Oh, and did we forget to mention that they’re also feckless, lazy & indifferent.

Well, I don't believe a word of it but what do you think? All I can say is God bless our blissful ignorance!

Youngsters today are streets ahead of their predecessors in a whole range of life-skills and we can only look on in envy at the sort of poise and confidence they bring to their daily lives.

Perhaps they don’t have the literary skills of previous generations (how can they in an era of electronic communication?) or they may lead more sedentary lifestyles (aren’t we all guilty of that particular failing!) - but they would lose and find older generations when it comes to many other aspects of life.

And more power to them!

That is great new about Jean scan. lets hope thje good news continues.

Linda glad you had a good time shame about your weather still you did get a break.
Dermot that was lovely about the Dog having kittens

That maybe true about the young people of today Dermot but they still need jobs.you can be brilliant at a subject but it does not help without money and work.

The idea of the People having to work longer is such a silly idea. if they left earlier the young people would get their jobs. the social money would then go to make up the peoples pensions.
while those young people can work and would not need social.
