Evening all, Shelly hope your lad is ok and finger sorted out. Rita glad the scan was ok for you, shame you have such a long wait to hear from them though. Have lots of info to put on my tree on OH's side. My brother in law has been doing it for about four years and has sent me a copy of what he's done. I know what he has written will be right as he's very thorough and has travelled far and wide to gather the information. I hope my children and grandchildren appreciate it in years to come. Poor Stephen must be pining for his little darlings, won't be long before they're back :-D Hope Pat is having a good time, and everyone is well, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to all,
Cath xx

Hi all. Marilyn, I thought it would be a change for you and Pete, rather than a luxury liner. LOL In fact, Pauline, Maddie and myself are booked in to cruise down the Congo, god knows what will happen if we see any Crocodiles, I just hope they have got someone with a harpoon or something, to protect us.
Rita, your treatment today, was disgusting. Fancy leaving you waiting that amount of time, they could at least have given you a cup of tea, and a biscuit to keep you going.
Cath, if your family are anything like mine, all the hard work will have been for nothing. It's just as well that we have the interest in our ancestors, or all that history will be lost. I just wish that my kids and grandchildren, didn't think I am a dotty moo, for being interested in my forebearers.(sp).
Lets hope that Shelly doesn't get held up for to long at the hospital. If her son is bleeding badly from his wound, perhaps they will want to get rid of him quickly, so that others dont faint at the sight of his blood all over the floor.LOL ;-)
Do you suppose Stephen hid himself in the grandchildrens luggage, and has gone on holiday with them on the quiet.

On my Google the stirp along the top is now black and I cannot read the writing has anyone else got this same problem please. ? I can only read web the others are almost blank.
I was watching a film on TV this afternoon a western the guy came along and jumped off his horse. except he didnt land he was left in mid air as the film had broken down after a few minutes they apologised and said it will be corrected soon. it seem to take ages before it started again this time the guy jumped off his horse and landed on the ground
It brought back memories of the 3p flicks the films were always breaking down then. you would have thought things would have imroved after all these years must be 70 years

Well I'm off up the wooden hill to bed. I have had an eventful evening, I bought and built property, I took out mortgages and I went bankrupt. I've been playing Monopoly. Sleep well everyone.

A professional genealogical researcher has discovered that Hillary Clinton's great-great uncle, Remus Rodham, was hanged for horse stealing & train robbery in Montana in 1889.
The only know photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows. On the back of the picture is the inscription: 'Remus Rodham, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison, 1885; escaped 1887; robbed the Montana Flyer six times; captured by Pinkerton detectives; convicted & hanged in 1889'.
Hillary Clinton was asked to comment. Hillary's staff of professional image adjusters sent back by E-Mail the following biographical sketch:
'Remus Rodham was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets & intimate dealings with the Montana railroad.
Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to the service of the government facility, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad.
In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honour when the platform, upon which he was standing, collapsed.
May he rest in peace'.

Morning everyone Bright and sunny here so far. Might get into the garden later.
Finished the cardigan Mo, and a small hat too all in white. Got some cream wool yesterday to start the sleeping bag.
Went to my friend for tea and a chat.
Not sure what else might happen today. Little M is leaving for Singapore tonight with her parents, so the end of another era.
Enjoy the ducks Jean.
Linda :o) XxX

The rare sighting of two hitch-hikers in the one day got me thinking back on the golden era of the British hitch-hiker when men were men and cars were at least ten years old, broken down & expensive.
Hitch-hiking was a right of passage for anyone born before 1980. If you didn’t hitch-hike, you weren’t a real man (or a woman for that matter). Obviously, hitch-hiking was more the forte of guys because of safety issues but there were still a lot of girls who engaged in the art - and believe me it was an art. Needless to say it was easier for the girls to get a lift.
Hitchhiking (or ‘thumbing’ as we always called it) really was a refined skill. Whippersnappers of the current era might think it is a none-too-difficult task to stand on the side of a road with your thumb in the air but, jeer not you doubting youngsters. Hitchhiking was actually an enormously complicated business, requiring all sorts of ingenuity, trickery and chutzpah.
Not much of it about these days!

Morning All,
Still no Stevey !!......oh dear he might be poorly. awhh we need to nurse him back to thread... :-S
I'm going to be a busy bee today ....I got to cook for my sister & hubby & my brother & wife, at least its a lovely day today and we will be able to sit outside for a drink first.
Dermot ...WE have never ever given anyone a lift by hitch-hiking too frightened they might have knives or guns !! sad I know because some folk could well be genuine.
Hope you all have a great sunny day like I have here.
Shelly ,,,,Well did it work ??????

I am saying good morning but it will be lunchtime before I catch up with myself. today. The weather is lovely but I am not awake yet to enjoiy it.
I have a plant growing in my little bit of front garden. I was going to pull it up.; I think a bird has dropped a seed ? and that it is a cauliflower growing it is quiet big now. towering over my Chyms. yesterday I went to pull it up only to be asked by two elderly gentlement not too as they wanted to see what it was ? already someone has said it is Kale. someone else a cabbage. now John said he thought it was rape. and Ted said he thinks it might me Kale. so it is staying where it is. I said I could start a betting book on it. a little unkown plant ? growing and the interest is getting bigger. I said so long as I am not growing canibus or somthing like that I didnt mind.
