Hi everyone, thanks for your answers. I live in Stockport, Cheshire, am 73 years old [or young, depending on how I'm feeling] Divorced in 1976, have 1 daughter and 1 son, my daughter has a son 21 years old and my son has a daughter 4 months old. I was a foster mum for 33 years, had lots of children over the years. My one real interest in life is horses.
I do the Birthday thread on GR.
Have a nice evening. Jean xx

Hi Jean, I live in the North East - a place called Washington, it's between Sunderland and Newcastle. I think I'm the only one on here from the north.
I'm the youngest pensioner, just turned 60 last week. Can't claim my pension yet because the government changed the age thingy.
I have a son aged 38, he's severely disabled, so lives at home with us.
Been married 26 years to my lovely second husband, first one was similar to the swine that Liz lives with.
This sounds like an alcoholics meeting, I'm not an alcoholic by the way but I do like a glass of wine after my dinner.

Liz, I've seen that you decided to go with the posh frock for the wedding. We'll be waiting to see a photo of you in it.
Linda, the photos of the wedding are fabulous. I love those bridesmaid dresses, and of course you look great in your outfit. You co-ordinated those colours very well, I like that photo of you at the table where you are all laughing - so very natural. The bride looks amazing, she's stunning.

I did not bother to put a DVD on this evening as I was waiting for the film on Five Guess what ? they did not show it Instead they showed the Zoo they keep doing that do you think they have something against me. I will be pleased when all these sports programes are finished perhaps they will put things on for people who are not overly keen on sports.

Where did you come from Shelly lol, did you doze off in the garden lol? I am always up through the night, it's better than sleeping next to the idiot upstairs, who snores and f**ts all night! He will be getting up for work in a mo, he has to keep doing 6 day weeks when he can to subsidise the scrounger son!
I am 62 - 63 in three weeks and a day :>(( - and live in Norwich, Norfolk. A single mum of a son aged 28 in a week's time, so a busy time coming up. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia so never sleep well, but better when I am alone so sleep mornings and spend the rest of the time trying to catch up with myself. It's better in the summer cos the days are longer but also harder to sleep as you need the windows open but the world and it's wife seem to decide to natter right under the bedroom window. This house is at the end of a cul de sac so any delivery lorries or the bin lorry beep their way in reverse down the close and stop under the window, slam their doors, chat on their phones, even the milkman stops here and does his paperwork and has his break lol - more chatting on the phone then. Some times I get up and pointedly slam the window but it's too hot for that at the mo
Lizx
Btw Shelly, you need some Avon Skin so soft dry oil spray - the one in the turquoise lidded bottle, it might have a slightly different name now but is known to deter gnat bites etc

Hi everyone, another lovely day, wonder how long this weather will last. Hubby and son don't get their holidays until August, can't see this lovely weather lasting until then.
Shelly you've gone all posh with your gazebo and chandelier, do we have to pay to talk to you now?
Jean, now that we've got another horsey person for Sue to talk to she might come back for good. Plus, Yvonne might pop in more often now that you're here. The rest of us can recognize a horse but that's about it.
Liz you have got a busy time coming up, 2 birthdays and a wedding, hope you get the chance to enjoy them all.
Thanks for the coffee and biscuits Linda, nice of your hubby to do our ironing today *just shoving it throught the cyber hatch*. Have a good day at the rally.
Rita, were you in pain last night? You must have been wide awake if you managed to read a book right through without dozing off. I can only manage a couple of pages and I'm out like a light.
Marilyn what kind of doors did you have? Are you putting hard wood ones on now?
I wonder if Mo won anything last night, she hasn't come back on - maybe she's ran off with the winnings.
And where's that Elizabeth gone, she's getting as bad as Sue for going AWOL.

Had some good news this morning. My granddaughter only 8yrs has been picked to train to be a Diver by Tom Daley's manager.remember the Tom won a gold medal in the Olympics ?
Now this manager has toured all schools in the country for suitable & potential Divers and she was one of thousands that he went to see. Awhh bless her I said to her that's lovely and she said well I want to be a Doctor first then a Diver ...LOL

Marilyn that is nice for your Granddaughter I bet she is thrilled to bits..bless her. so you have posh barn doors now I hope Pete manages to stop them squeaking otherwise he will catch you going into the room for a crafty drink Lol
My book was not a big one Pauline it was one of those Mills and Boon books with two stories in . I think they call them 2 in 1 . I have a lot on my mind and cannot shut off to go to sleep so I get up make some tea or have milk and walk about the flat before going back to bed and it starts again so i try and read to shut my mind down. It is all these problems with the hospital. I went to collect my perscription from the chemis(t took it in last tuesday) as St Peters Dcotor phoned me to tell me to go one lower on my Steriods so instead of 10 mg I am on 9 mg. so I sorted and old perscription out wrote down what I needed l mg and took it into Boots who do all the work for me they gave me one lot of tablets but the 1 mg she had trouble with. she said Rita I have a box of 28 but you need two more boxes and I have not got them in I will get them for you Tuesday. she said she sent the perscription to my Doctors surgery and they refused to give me them as they had no idea what was going on. she said I will phone them monday and get that sorted after I had explained to her.about my doctor telling one thing and the hospital telling me another he is not (the hospital Doctor ) is not supose to be treating me for my PMR my own doctor is he has been doing for four years. I said I am feeling really depressed about it all and cannot sleep. This morning I got a letter from the Hospital Doctor telling me to cut it down to 9 mg and also to have two blood tests done at the hospital.( blow that ) costs me £10 to get there.so I will take the form with me Tuesday when I get my blood test for my warfarin done at the surgery and have that doen at the same time. I have typed a two page letter to my Doctor at the surgery and will hand that in when i go and ask for an appointment to sort this all out.it is so silly when even my own GP knows nothing of what is going on and refused to sign the perscription.
so I am not feeling too good at the moment too much on my mind.

I walked outside to look at my plants in the little strip of front garden I have and I noticed my Hydranger (which my dear S.I.L brought me four years ago) is full of flower heads but it has a white cotton wool bits all over it. never had this before. so I mentioned it to my upstairs neighbour a keen gardener. and he did not know what it was either ?but hegave me an all over spray to use to try and get rid of it. which I have sprayed on the wooden bits. he walked a cross to others with small gardens on this estate and came back and told me they have it as well.
I phoned my daughter as my dear son in Law is not so well he cannot manage to eat since his big operation for cancer although he has a food powder they gave him. I mentioned the white cotton ball on my plant. and told my daughter to check hers she said she had looked at her bushes and then found she had the same thing on her olive tree. Has nayone else got the same problem. I would like to know if so what have you treated it with.
