Shelly has your headache gone now? Were the kids extra noisy yesterday?

Mo, I thought it would be Holland v Germany as well, mind you, I don't know anything about football. I remember a few times thinking that Holland would win in previous years, but they never do, maybe this time will be different.

I've probably just put the kiss of death on Holland!!

Jean, do you have to take injections for you diabetes? Yesterday I googled diabetic hypo and watched some videos where police beat up drivers (who were having hypos) because they thought they were drunk, one man was beaten into a coma. It was frightening to watch.

Rita did those firemen not do a strip for you? I paid them to strip off their uniforms, not just sit in the cab watching you.

Linda if you fall asleep in front of the telly - it's because you need the sleep, well, that's what I always tell myself.

Marilyn, good luck for this afternoon, hope everything's OK.
It's forecast for good weather so you should have a good holiday...........make the most of it because you'll be back on babysitting duty when you get back.

Elizabeth I watched a little bit of the match...........about the last 10 minutes.

Rita Report 8 Jul 2010 15:13

I might not be back this afternoon I am so tired I need to have a sleep. I had trouble again last night sleeping I should have taken the tablets the GP gave me but didnt.
so I am paying for it now.

I had a call from my own GP this lunch time he said he wants to see me tomorrow and I was not to worry about things he has sorted it all .I can see him in future not worry about the hospital where I have had all this trouble., they were worried about me so he wants to talk to me.
I feel as if I am having a breakdown my nerves have really got to me so I am sure I will feel better after seeing my own GP.This is not like me at all.

I hope Marilyn get on alright she must be worried I know I get that way when I have to have a scan it is not the scan it is waiting for the results that is the problem.

Good afternoon everyone.
I cant believe it, I have been locked out of this site three times. The whole laptop froze on me. I have rebooted it so keep your fingers crossed for me.

Have a nice weekend Marilyn, and good luck with your scan. We will all have our fingers and toes crossed for you.

As you can see Jean, our Linda is a little workaholic. She rushes round like a Blue Ar*ed fly, while the rest of us get giddy. She makes us all feel guilty,
with all this washing and ironing, and looking after a little one during the day.
I hope you have had a good day.

Shelly if you want the sunshine, come and get it from here. Whew it's been flippin hot. I have been sweating my socks off.
What I want to know is, how can you be bored with your lot.
When exactly do the kids break up from school. It's amazing when your kids leave home you lose track of when the young ones are on holiday from school.
Just think mate six whole weeks of them being under your feet. You wont get bored then, you might get a sore throat though from all the shouting at them. LOL

Well Pauline how wrong could I haveben about the results of the footie.
I honestly thought that Germany would win. They have so many young players, who run round that field like little whipper snappers. And really sexy BTM's whoaa.
How is your brother in law today. Has he recovered yet. It must have been a shock to him and the family. He must learn to take care of himself now.

Hello Rita. Why don't you try the sleeping tablet tonight, just having them once in a while wont hurt you love.
I hope the doctor can put your mind completely at rest when you see him.
Having no sleep and all the worry,is not helping your nerves, and is making you feel run down.
I will put a bucket full of oooomph down the cyber hatch for you.
((((((((((((BIG HUGS FOR YOU)))))))))))))

Where has that Sue got to again. She's like the Scarlet Pimpernel,we seek het here, we seek her there,we seek that Sueee everywhere.

Afternoon ladies, quite warm here now, but no sun, just a few clouds.

Marilyn I hope you enjoy your weekend, have a rest and relax a little.

Rita, I agree with you, would be nice to still shop at the old prices, your list shows how much the cost of living has risen. I bought a dozen medium eggs yesterday, £1. 46p and New Zealand butter 500g, £1.25p

Pauline, I dont have to inject yet for my diabetes, I take Metformin slow release tablets, 1 at night and Gliclazide 1 each morning my GP says injections will be the next stage, not looking forward to that.

Hope you all have a nice evening.

Hi Ladies
Well just had the most traumatic half hour or so !!
Little M was going home, she clicks the car keys when she has them, so Mum took them away and put them safely on the front seat. Strapped her in her car seat and gave her some toys and books in the back. Closed her door .................... realised the car was locked !!!
No spare key, car orhouse. Dad is in Singapore with the spare.
Phoned the police, they can do nothing, unbelievable. Have to phone your own breakdown company. She phoned RAC, they aren't her insurers. So then got the AA. Yes she is with them. They will send somebody asap. We did try a local garage, but they advised waiting, if nobody came quickly get back to them.

We put a blanket over the back to stop some of the sun.

They came in less than half an hour, efficient. Then got a hook in the front to open the handle............... but it was dead locked or double locked. Luckily they have winders on the back windows. After a lot of bulging the door frame he was able to hook the window winder and after several goes drop it enough to get the hooked wire onto the keys on the front seat.
Our hero.
Little was hot and damp but OK not crying or upset and the nice man gave her a book and CD.
We cooled her down with a damp towel and offered plenty to drink.

They have gone home now and I am promised a spare key for the car and their house.

I need a cold drink now, too.

Have a peaceful evening all of you.

Hi jean

I brought a box of 9 midium eggs yesterday Free Range I only buy free range and they cost me £1 34
I have lots of my old bills about here somewhere I was looking for my coal bill but have not found it I know it is here somewhere.?
I have a bill for
Powdered egg cost 6d I also have a bill for an egg poacher 2 s from Woolworths.
an L p record cost me £1.19.7d
I brought that for my husbands birthday.I think it was Gene Crouper a drummer. he collected his records. his only luxvury.

how times have changed have you notice how when the hot weather is here all the salad stuff goes up an goes down during the winter
Looking at my shopping bills I find that happens a lot. still we have to eat.
It is rather hot here at the moment. that was because I put my cool fan away.
Like you Shelly I am not too keen on some of the unknown brands I have tried them from time to time and found them not so good I tend to stick by Heniz and Crossand Blackwell cheap is not always good but if you cannot afford to buy the named brand then you have to settle for what you can afford. some of the unknown brands I have found are OK.
It is like cornflakes I buy Kelloges if I buy the cheaper brands they are not so good. yet people tell me that some of the well known manufacters sell to these unknown brands. .

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 9 Jul 2010 03:36

Well just caught up with some of this thread, the things that have been going on, two of them I can relate to well.

My son was locked in the car once, and I locked the keys in once! The first time was when he was a toddler and I was selling jewellery at parties, so used to take him with me sometimes, he enjoyed the attention and taking round the pads of jewellery - he was walking at ten months - and it seemed to get people buying lol
Anyway went to my team leaders to pick up some things and took son back out to car and went back to get the items and somehow I had shut the door with the buttons down and the keys were inside on the seat! My t.leader called the aa altho I wasn't a member and they came and managed to undo the door with a coat hanger, it was an old Avenger and this was in 1983.

Not long afterwards I went to Cromer with a friend and we were getting our things out of the car to go down to the beach. I put the keys in my bag and got my lad out, had put the buttons down ready to take my bag and slam the doors. My helpful friend did just that but forgot to get my bag out!
We went and had some fun on the beach and then had to go to the Police station to ask for help. To my son's delight they took us back to the car in their police car and tried lots of keys on their lost keys board till they found one that opened the boot, then they somehow managed to reach through the boot lining to open a door.

And Marilyn, I have done what your dad did, with the cotton buds! The first time I lost a top of one in my ear, my son was home and managed to fish it out with tweezers but the next time I did it, I was alone so had to go to the a and e dept, luckily at the time it was only ten mins walk from my home so I went there and they fished it out for me. I have to be honest and say I still use buds as I get very itchy ears - it's a family thing, I recall my Mum using a piece of cotton wool on the end of a matchstick or hairgrip lol i am more careful and the minute I start to feel the bud end getting wobbly, I stop using it and throw it away.

Rita, I am glad your doctors are so kind to you and hope you will try the sleeping pills occasionally so you get some rest. The heat and the worry you have had lately is taking it's toll, so some sleep will help you cope, love.

Pauline, what a dreadful worry for you all with your b.i.l. I hope he will be ok and be more careful with his diabetes. I am dreading o.h.'s getting worse as he isn't careful how he treats himself even with the pilltaking and diet etc. If he has to do injections, it will be dreadful, his memory is so bad and he can't even have meals on time at work because of the job he does, but I have told him he needs to explain to the company that he must be able to just have a snack if there isn't time for a whole meal at the right time.

men eh?

Take care all,

more stuff on J. Jean's thread about this blasted wedding!

love

Going to hairdressers this morning to have my hair cut, then to market for salad things for weekend, then home to do housework, wonder if I can have a short nap at sometime.

Is anyone going to the Great Yorkshire Show next week?

Morning all, I think it's going to be very warm today.

I'm off out soon, got to see my brother-in-law, give him a good talking too.

Linda you must have been frantic yesterday with the little'n stuck in the car in this heat. I wouldn't have thought of putting a blanket over the window to block the sun - I would have just panicked.

Shelly don't eat all that toast, I haven't got time to make any - so I'll have some of Jeans.

Jean I hope your diabetes doesn't get any worse, hopefully you'll be able to control it without injections.

Same goes for Liz's other half, I think you can do without the extra worry of that Liz. I'm in a hurry today, so I'll read about the wedding saga when I get back home later today.

Elizabeth, I don't mind having a bad winter if we get a lovely summer like this, it's something to look forward to.

Mo I know just what you mean about the brain not working in a panic. I go brain dead whenever I'm in a panic about something. When I calm down afterwards I wonder how I could be so stupid.

Mind you, Rita's brain was spot on when her hubby had a heart attack while driving the car. If that was me...........we would have crashed!!

Rita, I hope you're feeling a bit better today, you've had a lot of upset lately. By the way, I paid £1.36 for 10 eggs, don't know where Shelly gets them for a pound.

Hope everything went OK for Marilyn with the scan.

Where's Yvonne and Sue?

Mo in Kent Report 9 Jul 2010 14:05

Hello everyone.
Well it's another scorching day here,it's up to 30 at the moment. I have got all the windows open, and there is no breeze at all.
It's typical we have got two ceiling fans, but they are both in the dining room.

Talking of the price of food etc. We have got a 99p shop in town, and they sell loads and loads of stuff cheaply.
The eggs in there are 99p for ten. All the branded cleaning substances, are also the same price. I save a lot of money by shopping there.

Linda, I have made four baby cardigans, since I started last week. Mind you in this weather,my hands keep getting all sweaty,so I have to keep washing them.
I hope little one was o.k when she came today.

Must go and get the washing in from the line, and put the next lot out.
It's not taking long for it to dry.
Be back later.

Hi Mo and everyone
I think little M was Ok as she doesn't come on a Friday.

I was going to let her Mum settle today after her shock, as Daddy is still away. I will ring this evening to see that all was OK

The blanket dried very quickly this morning. It is so hot. I have been moving the pots from under the trees as the guys are coming to cut some down and others to be reduced on Monday. I thought the pots best off out o the way. So they are all on the patio now.
We have the cocker spaniel tomorrow, but I think it will be too hot for him to go far. Only have him for 2 days. Wouldn't be a good idea with the gate open on Monday methinks.

Have a nice weekend all.
