well I for one and not going to swim the channel I dont like deep water or swimming with fish.
so if Stephen wants to swim to France we will follow in a helicopter or boat for those who dont like to fly. ?
otherwise we could go up in a baloon and watch him but not good if you dont like heights ?
so he will have to come up with something better than that if he wants us all to have a go or go somewhere..

Pauline You will laugh at this I told my son at lunchtime that Carole had brought me some Conkers so I could get rid of the hairy spiders.
He laughed and said "they use them to sit on and keep warm." he is full of wit that one he used to phone me when I lived in Norfolk.and say he was a china man and was going to delivery my Chinese meal or Indian meal whatever.he had me fooled a couple of times but not anymore.

Mo we residents on this estate did not know anything about it till we had a note pushed through the door. that they were doing that, on that morning which was yesterday.I thought they were only going to replace the paving stones as they were a bit unsafe.

One of the thing I have on my list for the AGM I have quiet a few listed of questions. People moan about things that go on here but they never stand and question why we were not asked first and we pay for it all ourselves.out of our maintence money
They usualy ask me
. I have told the Estate manager I am no longer going to pop my head out of the window and ask anyone what number flat or Bungalow they are looking for. or opening the door with the wall phone for someone wanting her.now they have told us we must shut the laundryroom door as a fire precaution. (Health and Safety. )so I asked what about the contractors that need to get in there to the toilet. she said she would have to asked the aera manager.
Guess what happened yesterday twice a contractor came to me and ask for the key urgently I gave it to them but made sure they knew they had to bring it back to me. I told her this morning I am not paid to do her work.

my moan for the day.

What makes my post disappear? I've just sat here and typed a post out and it vanished in front of my face. God knows where it's gone.

Rita, where have you put the conkers, are they in the bathroom or on the floor beside your door?

I think your estate manager has a cushy job, she gets paid for nothing.

Marilyn you did really well for your birthday, lovely presents .........but I like the sound of the ring the best.

Edit: Ah, I think I've found out what happened to my post.

My hands must have been resting on 'alt' and the left arrow. If you press 'alt' at the same time as you press the left arrow..........it jumps you back to the previous page, so it would have jumped me back to 'Friendly Thread' before I started my post. I'm going to try it out on a new post and then see if I can get it back again.

Well, I definitely lost my test post by pressing 'alt' and the left arrow but I didn't get it back again by pressing 'alt' and the right arrow...........so that didn't work.

I give up, I can't get it back, but at least I know how I lost it!!

Hi all, I've just had an awful experience, I'm still shaking. I was washing my hands at the kitchen sink when I saw a workman (who's just arrived to do a job next door) take an epileptic fit. My son takes gran mal epileptic fits so I wasn't frightened of the fit, but when I ran out and turned him on his side I got a shock. He'd gone down face first (heavily) onto concrete and his glasses had been pushed deeply into his eyebrow. He had a great big hole in his brow and the blood was shooting out all over. He'd also smashed his nose, split his lip and bit his tongue. His whole face and head was covered in blood, it was pouring out of him. I had so much blood on me I looked like I'd been in a road accident. The fit lasted so long that I thought he wasn't going to come out of it. He'd only just stopped jerking when the ambulance arrived. He's gone off to hospital now but he's only barley conscious.

I think he'll lose his job over it because he was the van driver and the men said they didn't know he was epileptic. The paramedic was annoyed that he'd been driving and said that if it had happened 5 minutes earlier, he'd have killed them all. He told them to phone the boss and report him. I hope he's OK.

Oh Pauline
I hope you have had a cup of tea with sugar by now. At least you didn't panic at his fitting, lots would have.
I too hope he will be OK, maybe his employers will let him work but not drive ?

Take care

Pauline.. You are a brave one you are probably shaking more now its over than when it happened .

Poor man maybe it was his first Fit as my old neighbour had one on a trip to the seaside and she said afterwards that it was her first ever fit she had to give up Child minding without her income on that, it left her well & truly not able the life style she was used to .

Are the workmen still next door ? I bet they are still shocked.

Never mind Pauline we have to do these things don't we .
Have a G&T or something !

Pauline what a shock that must have been but like said maybe it was his first Fit. ? Stacey my granddaughter never had a fit in her life but she did last year when she was in hospital.
she had quiet a few. but touch wood none since.

That poor man I do feel really sorry for him. maybe he depended on that job was he the driver then ?
I was thinking perhaps his boss did know he had fits but took him on because he was cheap. they do that sometimes.

Linda I went into Town as the flat near me is having a new kitchen fitted and the noise was really bad. so I thought I might as well today while that was going on I had my hair washed and trimmed and blow dried. and I brought some birthday cards and a Desk Diary for next year as my appointments laspse over to the next year that way I can write them in now as they come in. but it was so hot in Town and I wore a coat I must be mad.
Marilyn where are you off too.have I missed one of your threads. ? you are suppose to ask me first.
